Qs start at 1000 this morning. BO9s, three sessions a day until Thursday.

Ridiculous error from Robbo. FB black missed and stuck, Judd forces respot.

Shon playing for snookers is always a bit embarrassing. He's terrible at them.

Hill's having a great week, results wise, but he just doesn't score compared to the rest of those left in the draw. That's reflected in the price, though.
Kyren's well ahead of LTT on every metric other than recency scoring. Again, hard to argue with the prices.
Yuan is probably the one who's closest to representing true value, IMHO. A smidge behind on three metrics and well ahead on recency scoring.
I have Wu as a slight fav over Baz, but it's close to a coin toss.

I just had a look at figures from last year's tournament and it looks like that was poor too.
There seems to have been a downturn in general over the last year and that's not going to be helped with the disappearance of eurosport and the resulting move to TNT. Grim times for snooker trading on Betfair.

Agreed. From a personal perspective, lots of the Qs are now 8 table affairs where we only get pics from 4, and we only ever get two tables for any of the Chinese events. Those things both limit what I do. Go back a couple of years, and we were able to watch almost every match played on LV.
As you say, the move to TNT is not going to help! I suspect snooker punters who use LV are dwarfed by those preferring to watch ES/BBC/ITV.
How are you finding everything else? So far, the PC change doesn't feel as if it's had any significant impact.... (albeit it has helped my bottom line in the immediate term!)

My other main sport is cricket which has obviously gone in the opposite direction liquidity wise, but it is also getting harder - I have had to change my strategies there to try and adapt/keep up.
If only we had closer to real time pics! Surely not too much to ask for in 2025?!
I couldn't agree more - picture speed has become the main reason I now find it harder than ever.

The rematch between Xiao and Kyren should be fascinating. In many ways, it was Kyren who started the remarkable transformation in Xiao's career. When they last met in the Wuhan Open, Kyren was all but 3-0 up (I've not been back through the thread, but I am close to certain that Xiao needed a snooker, and Kyren played a terrible shot and gifted it to him). How differently things might have gone if that hadn't happened!
Anyway, Kyren is a smidge ahead on all metrics bar recency scoring, where he's a bit behind. The H2H is 7-1 in favour of Kyren, but Xiao is a different animal now. Prices look about right to me, I'd be 2.2 Xiao, not enough juice for me.

Afternoon Lat! Just dumped TNT after having that channel - BT/ESPN/Setanta - for many years only to find out Eurosport is going there

Are you with Sky or anybody? You should be able to get it through them without having to crawl, though I guess having cancelled, they might come crawling back to you with an offer you can't refuse? Either way, it'll still be fecking useless for betting from.Been a v quiet week in-running apart from my stronger pre-match views, which have done well.
Yeah - probably have a chat with Sky - see what they will offer. Speaking to TNT they were talking alot about sport being streamed on Disc+ - no idea which sports - but that will be way behind I would assume. As you put earlier 2025 and pics getting mile behind live.

Yuan is a smidge ahead on everything bar recency scoring, where he's equal with Baz. Baz does lead the H2H, however, 2-0, and there is a chance Yuan's inexperience at this stage of events counts against him and he freezes, but at the prices it's a risk I'm prepared to take, particularly as he's prevailed in two tight Ws having seen opponents come back at him.

Baz taken them well, but you can't legislate for that in-off. 2-1 Yuan.
Flow has completely changed since the two bits of outrageous luck, but Baz has absolutely strangled him since. 3-2 Baz.
Interesting final, but I'll go for Kyren here at the prices. Looks like Hawk's H2h and some recent form have made the market close, but I feel there's still a bigger gap than market thinks here in this final.
I got caught out by backing Kyren against Shaun, but Hawk isn't even at Shaun's level really. If they both play to their B games (quite likely) I see Kyren winning fairly easy over best of 19.
There's no two ways about it, Baz is in far better scoring form than Kyren. Kyren, for the last few months, has been a lot like Judd of a season or two ago where he would just keep getting through despite not playing well and looking potentially vulnerable in early rounds. All the other metrics favour Kyren, some by a little bit, some by a lot.
Baz leads the H2H 11-9.
A few years ago, you would have had doubts about Baz's record in finals, but I think that has been put to bed a bit now.

Kyren gifted him a result really at MSI from 2-0 should have been crushing instead.

As a backer I'm hoping Kyren was rope-a-doping in the first session!

Googling suggests you can get glue that could make it usable in a matter of minutes, though curing overnight is preferable.
Regardless, he's come back strong so far. That's what he needed here.
Baz is frustrated because Kyren's pretty much getting away with anything and everything.
Well done, Kyren. That evening session was head and shoulders the best of the tournament. Excellent drama.
Got job done eventually - odd final performance overall I feel from Wilson, some good some awful
