I know the players moaned about lack of playing opportunities before the hearn regime, but snooker has gone downhill for me since. Lots of tinpot tournaments hidden away on crap TV channels. No gravitas. Saudi arabia is the death knellfor me. Remember the old days, tournies like the Scottish open , Irish masters, British open had real gravitas and played over proper formats. Way too many short format matches these days, best of 7's are rubbish. The old days of top 16 qualified for every tournament and a 64 man tour seemed much better to me.
The whole circuit has been dumbed down. Look at snooker from the 80s and 90s on YT, the whole set up seemed classier.
