Jack landed on that red twice and refused it so wasn't surprised he missed it when finally forced to play it. Didn't let himself down at least, though JB definitely looked vulnerable tonight.

Higgins and Trump look woeful, very strange betting O'Sullivans 10/11 -2.5 frames if Higgins plays like he has he'll be lucky to get 7-8 for some reason they keep taking on O'Sullivan the books he's playing players that are playing garbage and the one player that is playing ok hasn't beaten hi in 10 years..Looks like two drubbings to me,you couldn't possibly back Trump or Higgins,my moneys gonna be banked now with a chunk running on him, think the frame score must be worth ago O'Sullivan to win 17-7 8 9 Higgins has the look of someone of chucking it in the same with Trump..Just don't see how they are going to start playing well, their confidence looks shot to pieces..

Already weary of the class of 92 stuff, bet the 3 lads are heartily sick of it too, has been a very uninspiring tournament so far. Ronnie has looked good but he's barely had a test yet, wouldn't even count the 1st 3 frames against Dave, and how crazy is that? It's gone exactly like the men's tennis now, as has been clear for a few years. A couple of the young guys took a small step forwards, but we're going to have to wait for the old guys to simply expire before they actually make the full breakthrough. Just like with nadal, federer etc. And at this rate, that might take one or two more years yet.

Utter garbage,if anyone had played half decent they'd be winning i wouldn't trust that Trump even from 7-1 up,i will never forget him botting it against Roberstson in tha uk,i'm sure that left a menta scareven though he's won things since, not to be trusted..Might even lay him at 1/16..Grin

For the sake of the final it needs ronnie to win now
If Higgins somehow finds his way through forget it

I agree with your earlier points today gj, the whole tournament has been very underwhelming - with the odd notable exception.

Regarding the 2nd Semi Final - I would be surprised if Higgins's level of form didn't improve markedly. Both Higgins and Lisowski spoke about how difficult the table was playing yesterday, and Higgins should enjoy playing conditions over the next 3 days. He also holds the upper hand against O'Sullivan in recent meetings. O'Sullivan has looked really focused throughout the tournament, so far, but his draw looked a good one if he fancied it. He did give Maguire plenty of chances though, and he may still have some tip problems. He has been given an absolutely dream schedule though, which is no surprise - but as you say gj this looks like his first major test.

I didn't expect Trump to dominate the first session of the other Semi Final, although like Higgins, I was expecting an improvement on his current form. Trump would be the player who would most want to beat 2 members of the class of '92 here. Given his continual comments about snooker trying to attract a younger audience, he would love nothing better than to put 2 of the 'oldies' in their place. There's still a long way to go, but Williams obviously needs to start well tomorrow.

Judd has won 16 out of the last 17 frames he's played

needs to find his mojo and quick
all the bellends eulogising about MJW and his tons
against cannon fodder
his laissez-faire mentality getting exposed bigtime
against a proper oppo
will be the same in the other semi

makes you wonder whats happened to sports when a whole generation or 2 cant seem to make it past the previous generation. Or you realise how good we all had it 20 years ago.
with the current crop of youngsters all being taught that its ok to be mediocre, do you think the competitive drive is non-existent now?

I look back on my drinking days 20 or so years ago and there wasnt a pub that didnt have a pool table in it, and people would stack 50ps on the table just to get a game. now you'll be lucky to find a pub with a pool table (at least not where I am). In short maybe no-ones really getting into the game and taking it up
