So you reckon he'll be fav at that price
your words not mine |
By:
Who and what price has been the shortest price favourite at start of world championship. Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry? Does anyone remember
By:
I remember Hendry being very short for a couple in the 90's. I think he was 6/4 at the start of one but I wouldn't swear to it.
By:
REMEMBER dAVIS BEING 11/10 AND BIG MAC SAYING HE WAS THE BET OF THE CENTURY,he was right too..
By:
Thought maybe Steve Davis with him being against muppets, Hendry was against a lot of quality in his years, but would probably agree Hendry was an animal. Would say he was the best snooker player ive seen. Ronnie more flamboyant, but at there peak wouldn't back against Hendry.

I said Ronnie couldn't win another a long while ago, but standards have slipped enough now.
He plays low percentage crap like that against the supposed rock Selby and still gets over the line. The saviour Judd was pitiful v Wilson. I worry for the coming years. |
By:
Selby didn't get the chance from 14-16 though, if he been able to keep it safe he'd have got the last frame in my opinion
Ronnie started slinging his cue and reeled off 3 frames in a row and the rest is history I stand by what I said earlier, the game is in a mess the standard is pathetic and no amount of crowing from the pundits can paint over that fact Wilson this afternoon was pitiful and if he makes another world final I'll not bother watching |
By:
Where's all the new breed Chinese "superstars" we were promised 10 years ago? we should be seeing them now
By:
if he been able to keep it safe he'd have got the last frame in my opinion
Although the ronnie slinging his cue and getting away with it also played a part I suppose |
By:
Trump is the new breed Sonta. World Champion last year. will win more in future too
By:
I don't rate him either wise, he's decent but it shows how s***e the game is when Trump is the next big thing
By:
china have been taking over every sport for last 30 years ,rarely happens
By:
yer selby played one of the shots of the championship in the decider on the last red of a cushion to leave the white behind the black, ronnie gets down smashes it and gets a snooker back.. fine margins
By:
thery do well in sports judged by other hunams,

By:
That was why I sort of added the 2nd comment with the bold quote
He slung his cue in those last 3 frames and it worked, he'd given up by that point (14-16) and it worked in his favour freed him up |
By:
The luck he's been getting as well
If he ever moans about slow play or bad run of the balls again someone should t*at the simpleton ffs |
By:
as ya say SS everything went for him, it wasnt a rope or a tactic to get under selbys skin, he had given up and thought he was beat and just chucked his toys around sulking like the child he is
By:
I do feel a bit sorry for Wilson late last night, the blue into the reds splitting them perfectly but sending a red into the corner, the red going in off the blue a bit after that from Ronnie, the red not going in the middle and staying right over the pocket from Wilson as well
The getting down and smashing it against it Selby and getting a snooker back, the wancor has had all the luck in the world ![]() |
By:
People will bum him after this but his luck has held up all tournament
By:
Judd did an interview a few weeks back where he said he'd achieved everything he wanted to in the game.
By:
Lata can go either way that though, it might relax him and we see him go on to dominate the game for a few years
Or he could just fall of a cliff for having no intensity, I think he'll favour him being like that because he didn't handle pressure all that well when he needed to get the world title monkey of his back |
By:
ive layed at 320 for 15quid, but cant be confident,( because ronnie cant be trusted to even turn up for final session) then id be over4000 down
By:
He doesn't strike me as the hungry type though Trumpy, he seems happy to just mess around and make a few bob
Nothing wrong with that I suppose its up to him I guess, just need to realise that when betting on him |
By:
By:
I have noticed balls getting sucked towards the pocket when Ronnies been in so you could be right, wise

been a weird championship all round, the standard has been appalling, but i think players plan and try and peak around the worlds, with it being moved from april i think that made a big difference, as well as the other associated problems with it being played later in the year, ie the playing conditions as well as several of the overseas withdrew from the qualifying rounds.all added to the worst standard i i can remember
By:
Yeah the heats been complained about so that may have played a part, humidity is a killer on the hands and wrists for the sweat
By:
You've definitely got the value. At evens the pair for each of the 10 remaining frames, Kyren's a 1024 shot, and there's no way he's an evens shot to win each frame.
By:
yes that what i worked out, lat, i was even thinking of putting the 15 quid on wilson to win say the frames individually and if he won thefirst 8 on the bounce id be up around 3500 and then hope ronnie wins one of the last 2.

By:
im always scared of laying at big odds , got stung few years back when pakis stayed in their dressing room, hence i say if ronnie decided not to turn up etc
By:
Ronnie could still play to a world leading level if he so wished. but he can't be arsed. Zero patience.
That he can still win it playing so rashly is laughable. |
By:
Looking forward to the Genius that is Ronnie O'Sullivan picking up the trophy for the sixth time - he has had more bad sessions than good and they still cannot lower his colours.
What will snooker do when Ronnie is no longer on the scene? |
By:
Shot of the tournament doesn't involve the blue for match by McGill against Lisowski.
Selby shot in frame that gets reracked is included though ![]() |
By:
365, have match odds for the seniors starting next week, jimmy 1/50 v joe johnston, and 4/11 bond v hendry.

By:
ken docherty is 13/5 fav.

By:

hey Cooper, it was the season of darkness. it was the season of light. it was the worst of times. it was the best of times.
