It didn't sound like the players were allowed out during the qualies.  Everyone was bussed in and out from hotel to venue and vice versa.  Even the hotel staff were all staying there to ensure the integrity of the bubble.

Murphy is there already, so he'd be expected to stay in the "bubble" from July 30th until August 16th if he made the final..

I concur, but that seems to be the plan:
https://snookerhq.com/2020/07/29/shaun-murphy-bubble-after-portugal-travel-funeral/

“Shaun had a COVID-19 test upon entering the event bubble which returned a negative result.

“He will remain in Sheffield within the event environment for the next week until his opening match at the Crucible on August 3rd. Prior to this, he will have another COVID-19 test.

I am sorry to hear of your frustrations surrounding our Sky Bet product. Your concerns have been raised to myself within our complaints team here at Sky Betting and Gaming and I will be personally addressing this matter.

In regards to your bet references - O/10413478/0000407 this was correctly voided due to a system issue. The odds we offered at the time you placed your bet were incorrect as no live pricing updates were available between 22.47:57 & 23.06:05. We voided this as we had no price to settle your bet from which we apologise for. Please see below the Terms and Conditions stating we can void bets due to the late closing of markets :

"Gambling is a fast moving environment, odds move rapidly and bets are taken continuously and consequently mistakes do occasionally occur. We do all that we can to avoid this but we cannot accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, the late closing of markets, place terms, handicaps, runners, live scores or results despite our every effort to ensure total accuracy. We reserve the right to correct obvious errors and either settle bets at the correct odds or void bets if prices are unavailable."

However as a Gesture of Goodwill I have credited your Sky Betting and Gaming balance with £10.00 due to the inconvenience caused by this matter.

Based on the information provided and as stated above, I'm afraid I am unable to uphold your complaint, I appreciate this is not your desired resolution and for that I offer my apologies. I hope this outcome does not impact your faith in our services and I hope you continue to enjoy our products moving forward.

We believe this is a fair outcome in the circumstances and you have now reached the end of our internal complaints process. If you wish to escalate the matter further you can ask for your complaint to be looked at by the Independent Betting Adjudication Service - which is a free service.

For more information about IBAS, including the types of complaints they can and can't look at, visit https://www.ibas-uk.com Or, if you don't live in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland you can ask for your complaint to be looked at by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission - AGCC. Kind Regards

thats crazy if the players have to stay camped in while a few hundred punters came in and out every day. I can see ron following swampy and jacking it before it gets going.

This will be a worlds like no other of course without the proper crowd.

Can see this being negative/positive depending on the character of the individual.

Hopefully Judd can deal with it.

Lol at Hearn being angry at thr sheriff. Hearns the one always banging on about opportunity and earning power and what else did sheriff do only take his opportunity to earn some? Hearn should be grudgingly admiring him, but more likely i reckon he'll look at trying to deny prize money or at least imposing a hefty fine.

Wonders you are wrong mate, he's not going to give up ranking points and 20k, why should he, the opponents could not beat him so dont deserve a spot.

Barry might regret this whole thing yet..........have they signed a 'i wont sue' clause.

I dont mind him playing for the money and ranking points but I feel donaldson should be allowed in if the sheriff doesnt want to play, that part I dont understand

if it was up to me the sheriff would be getting last 48 prize money & ranking points because he aint made the last 32
...to do what he's done, at best its unsporting
By:

When: 30 Jul 20 19:53
should have conceded his last 48 match after the 1st shot, allow donaldson through
if that's the stance he's taking
disgraceful imo
By:

When: 30 Jul 20 19:53
Thats spot on for me. First chance he gets to earn money in months and why would he turn it down? And 20,000 ranking points could be difference between keeping and losing his card next season. As regards scott donaldson, i dont think thats Hamiltons issue. Beaten fair and square in my eyes, but if they lrt him in it wouldn't bother me either.
By:
wondersobright
When: 30 Jul 20 19:54
scott hasn't made the last 32 either so he can't be included
