Tonight starts with a bang and got to go for Liang @ 4.1 to gain revenge but no moans from me if Ronnie wins. So its win win.
I wonder if Liang has slept since that black in the Masters.

There'll be some who question R.O'Sullivan's approach to his after match interviews but he made a fantastic point, as only he can, asking if they'd completed the schedule and if anyone was sure when he was playing next. We are being asked to believe this is a big tournament yet they finished a joke tournament in Gibraltar last night and couldn't complete the draw and schedule for this until it was over. And, on the back of some well deserved criticism for Hearn regarding making the shoot out a ranking event, he offers the players a choice on whether to keep it as a ranking event or scrap it altogether. Why not a 3rd choice - should the event remain as a ranking event? It clearly shouldn't and Hearn knows full well that offering this option would have seen it come out well on top.

a 1 frame shootout is actually not a bad idea but having a shot clock, 10 mins a frame, ball in hand for a foul, crowd shouting out etc
that's not snooker

it probably has a place as a ranking event in a more traditional event, perhaps as a curtain raiser to the season

if it was a tournament for the top 32 and completed in 1 day, or maybe top 64 and completed over 2 days, then perhaps it is a runner

prize money structured like a bounty hunter poker tournament could work really well

ie world number 1 carries 25k, number 2 carries 24.5k etc

if you win you carry the prize money of who you have beaten through to say the QF or SF stage and only if you make the latter stages of the event do you win the money
players making that stage win their own money attached to them

would get the top players interested for sure

make the top players feel like they are top players instead of being put on the same level as mugs
