can he beat the hawk bob?
one of them has to fall over the line do u think willett wins the maybank..4/6..3 shots clear of a field of chokers and nobodies but unreliable himself may win but smn will probably catch him at some stage |
By:
was shocked when I checked and seen 1.69 was expecting 1.2
By:
The Hawk should bt him easy hey John but who knows boy is a enigma, played amazing in the frame he needed all the snookers
By:
well maybe not that skinny bob 1.4x
says to me they reckon he can get beat which is also my gut feeling but lot of bottlers on that l/board |
By:
Foulds keeps touting him as the most talented player never to win a ranking event!
By:
Would nearly agree with foulds, Day was a seriously talented snooker player

Day CAN win, been a season of long awaited breakthroughs hasnt it, no reason why there cant be another. Actually he's been playing ok for a while now, not just this week. We all know in snooker a guy can be a snooker god one day and play like a total drain the next. Not having a bet, will be back for closing session tonight expecting it still to be close.
By:
For Day to win Baz has to bottle it - he may well do that but then Day is likely to bottle it - he may well do but then Baz is likely to bottle it ...... and then one of them falls over the line - surely it will be Baz but,I for one, would not bet on it ....

always value in backing the outsider of 3..the ref
![]() esp when the jollies have so much previous |

By:
Fu, is no joy to watch but surely he will outclass the bunch left in.

By:
Eh?

By:
Sorry lads was going to post yesterday but dragged off to the pub. I just pressed the wrong button. Still hung over.
Glad I didnt back fu. Day will do what he always has done, he proves the real game is in your head. |

I was starting to think it had all been a dream! ![]() |

Lat,
With the results this week I wish it had just been a dream. Whatever happened to the days when you could win a few bob at the game ![]() I stopped backing day 6=8 seasons ago but he is still costing me. |
By:
Just took the 1.47 I cannot believe Hawkins is not in a different class to Day and I am buying money very cheaply.
Mind you 2 winners all week hardly says I am on a streak but surely days head will let him down as per usual. |
By:
I've had a decent week, prior to last night, TBF.
That frame where he got the 4 snookers to rescue a certain 5-3 down position.... |
By:
Fu had a very bad session and it happens and while you have to credit Day he did not win that match Fu lost it.
Day will get out of position from being perfectly in it and its no mystery, he has been doing it his entire career. From the very beginning he was wales's big hope, seemed to have it all with a game that was going to make him a top 5 player but it never got off the ground. I hope he does make a fight of it and Hawkins is a bit of a underachiever himself but cannot see him losing positions in the way Day can. I am genuinely shocked that Hawkins is such a price. Poor house here I come ![]() ![]() |
By:
i sort of agree with you moondan, but the price takes into account the hawks history of bottling big matches.
he lost to perry in the masters semi from what looked like an unassailable position. he also lost to mark king, yes mark king in the ireland open from 5-2 up!!!! now that is shocking. im not averse to backing odds on shots heavily, but when it comes to bazza history has shown he finds it hard to deal with. obviously he is the more likely winner but 1.46? ill take that on to start with and back him at around evens in play ![]() |
By:
* history has shown he finds the big occasion hard to deal with
By:
Surely, based on what you've said above, Bobby, that's arse about face? The evidence suggests he starts well and can then falter....?
By:
very true lata
, sharp mind!!!!in those 2 matches he traded very low after a fast start.i suppose im hoping that day starts fast today and that i can trade my lay at around evens. |

Going over the cliff on baz hawkins? You cannot be serious moondan
![]() His price looks just about right to me, he's won a total of 2 ranking events, been in 2 finals...no way he's entitled to be a ronnie or trump like favourite against the likes of Day. Players will have been looking at the likes of King and Hamilton winning tournies and saying "why not me", neither would have been fit to chalk Day's cue 10 years ago. Few expect him to win so there's not even that much pressure on him, hve feeling it just might be his time. As for Fu, i'm still gobsmacked at how quickly he was playing, know he's speeded up a bit this season but at times he was down on the shot yesterday just as previous pot was falling into the pocket, not even chalking cue half the time. Bordering on reckless at times i thought. Thing about mark on the tip was odd too and what he said about the rounded butt....didn't really follow that bit or how it could have been any excuse. |
