Its not that she is a big fan of his, or snooker for that matter, its because, now Higgins is out,  she won't have to empty my sick bucket, which is never far from my side when John is playing.

Its not that I dislike John, even though he was willing to taint his own tournament, but listening  to every commentator vomit rubbish about how great he is, when its plain he was but no longer is.
Its almost a collective madness that has me wretching at their ridiculous claims and as a result of this nonsense has brainwashed almost all players, who because of them,  fail to take their normal games into the arena.

For heavens sake is it too much to ask for them to bring a little balance to their views.

Hendry, O'sullivan, Higgins and williams have had their time, give the youngsters due credit and while they might not achieve what those four did most of them have more ability at this present time than they have.

Davis and Parrot should be put out to grass and allow snooker to grow with proper respect for all players and the public not misinformed by yesterdays men.

Its very funny but I cannot count how many times Johns safety has failed to keep him in tournaments and when John is playing take a lttle notice of his opponants safety because they will find its just as good but never mentioned.

Snookers all hype they win a match playing garbage they say how brilliant the player and match was, games dying i never used to miss a match the last 4/5 years its got very dull.Characters like james white or alex higgins are needed, the game nowadays very unlikely to see players like that, hendry wouldv'e slaughtered this bunch and still be winning world titles at 80% of his best. How many great pressure players are there in the game nowadays ?,i can't name one not one i'd rely on taking out at 60+ clearence in a decider of a major final these boys have had it to easy!!ShockedCool

THEGIGGILO.

Hendry is the greatest I have seen and my first experience of snooker was watching Alex Higgins in 73, he was not a victim of booze then, but too many lonely train rides etc, etc, because he could not drive, became his way of life.
Great days, great players, and great fans.

Higgins was a genius i quite regularly watch the coral when he beat davis in the final and you can see he's drunk but still takes out some brilliant clearences, incredible how talented he was and brilliant under pressure! It's amazing the standard he was playing to while drinking vodka and guiness through the whole match,i watch every frame and its non stop drinking you can see him gradually getting more and more drunk and deliberate in his shots.Sheer guts and iron will to beat davis!!CoolLove

He’s had a good week though. Done a couple of shifts, got a couple of 1.01s gubbed, got the quarter-finalist’s cheque, back in Glasgow for the Hoops match. Fandabydozy.

You are spot-on moondan – “He’s got the big-match temperament, he’s the hardest match-player, his safety wins him matches, yadda yadda yadda.

He’s a disgrace to the sport. Period

I respect of Higgins, read the book "Who was Hurricane Higgins?" its fascinating. Higgins was the only player I would have paid to watch, says it all really.
