They're useless. Never bet on the basis of what they tell you about matches on other tables.  Half the time, I'm sure they make it up to fill in the time.  Quality on the 365 stream though  Neal Foulds is good and I think it was Clive Everton yesterday, the old BBC legend.

I was switching channels yesterday and was sure I heard Patsy Fagin doing commentary,

Thats the first time i have heard him.

I watched him a good few times years ago and he could be a handful but the game has changed so much.

An aquired taste?????

On Eurosport, Dave Hendon and Joe Johnson are a good team, with passion for the game uppermost. No complaints from me.

For the masters the commentary on Eurosport was better than BBC, but I'm not sure this time around.

JOE JOHNSON is brilliant, I like the eurosport commentators
Report Schalke 04 February 15, 2012 6:17 PM GMT
Neal Foulds is one of best commentators there is on the worldsnooker live broadcast ...
Report MoneyBagger February 15, 2012 9:00 PM GMT
They commentate from a TV screen, not live at the events. Hence so many commentating errors.
Report traderboy February 15, 2012 9:44 PM GMT
Eurosport commentators are so bad it's silly. I know more than them. Best one is actually Ken Doherty. And though not most knowledgeable I like actually like John Virgo just cos he makes it fun..Where's the white going, where's the white going! Dennis knows his stuff too but don't like the guy, just not a nice man.
Report traderboy February 15, 2012 9:48 PM GMT
Willy always gets it wrong! And talks too much. But I like the guy, good man, don't have a problem with listening to him. I watch snooker in sd on red button rather than hd on euro just cos commentators are so annoying
Report Schalke 04 February 15, 2012 10:00 PM GMT
Shaun Murphy would be good at it
Report fdsgfargaer February 15, 2012 10:17 PM GMT
agreed    i watch without volume
Report moondan February 16, 2012 6:31 AM GMT
I dont mind any of them really, as long a my bets on and things are going my way then life is perfectLaugh

I think its worth mentioning  that unless they are in the commentary box then they would never watch every ball in any match.
I am pretty sure the bigger the star the less they watch and have watched.
Most are absolutely clueless to the happenings in any match other than the result.
Report 1.01 Layer February 16, 2012 10:11 AM GMT
Not listened to Eurosport comms for a while.  Does Joe Johnson still say "where's the white ball going?" every time the cue ball goes within a foot of a pocket?
Report GRANTCKING February 16, 2012 12:56 PM GMT
yes 1.01, its so tilting
Report primed139 February 16, 2012 7:23 PM GMT
Yes take just now for instance Hallett and the other guy have just never stopped waffling for the whole of the first frame, fkng gets on my nerves would love to strangle Hallett worst snooker commentator ever.
Talk about state the obvious, they tell you nearly everything thats happening as if we are only listening on the fooking radio.
Report 1.01 Layer February 16, 2012 7:28 PM GMT
Very true that the quality commentators know when to shut it and let the sport do the talking.
Report Mariner Paul February 16, 2012 7:40 PM GMT
I used to drink with Hallett in my local club. You couldn't get a word in edgeways!
Report primed139 February 16, 2012 7:47 PM GMT
LOL not surprised Whoops

Who is the Irish commentator on Eurosport at the moment Maguire Stevens match?
Report FatherMaguire February 17, 2012 11:17 PM GMT
Am staggered by these comments - Joe johnson is the best by a million miles - have watched on Eurosport for years when given choice against the BBC, and the commentating has been the reason why - BBC employ blellends like Taylor with his white pen (which Eurosport have to ignore), but the BBC provide almost no insight at all, whereas Eurosport know they are speaking to proper fans who actually know whats going on.

Perfect example tonight in the 8th frame of Maguire v Selby - johnson immediately called the pink a poor choice of shot as he was getting down to it and was completley right
Report GRANTCKING February 18, 2012 11:55 AM GMT
u cant be serious fathermaguire, u realise how they often they call stuff wrong, ie if a pots on or someones snookered
Report ror February 18, 2012 12:14 PM GMT
Cos they're guessing from the TV coverage, they don't have live commentary, hence yesterday, "We've still not seen the cue ball, still not seen it, still not seen it" as the TV pics was showing everything but the full shot, so it wasn't clear whether the player coming in could pot anything.
Report fdsgfargaer February 18, 2012 1:54 PM GMT
