Games like this give RU a bad name.
Too much kicking. |
By:
Absurd stuff. Primary school children play smarter than this.
By:
There were two forward passes in the lead up to that try.
That barely gets scrutinised in this modern way of play. |
By:
Woman TMO , what next , they will want to be prime minister......
By:
Ps only joking...
By:
Well as England fans who do we want in the quarter finals, Australia, Fiji or Wales ??
By:
" A shuddering run by Theo Dan.... "
You've got to laugh at the commentator coming out with that type of banal nonsense. He basically barged into a Japanese player and gained about a yard. |

England vs Fiji/Wales/Australia
![]() A kickaroony no matter who we play ![]() Kick… kick… and if that fails kick some more, slow the game down, make it a right trench warfare |
By:
This tournament confirms Rugby has gone backwards in the last 4 years.
By:
Your right Luke , but for us old fogies don't think there were many better teams than the Welsh of the early 70s and I'm saying that as an Englishman. I expect I am talking through those tinted spectacles, but they were special and better than any team I have seen here
By:
To be fair defences are much better than ever before and difficult to break down. That said England's back play was awful; Smith was the only saving grace late on.
By:
I played in the 60s and 70s and would not want to face the physicality of today`s game.
By:
I feel the same way FELTFAIR, I got picked for England U19's squad as an 18 year old and I was a hooker. I was nowhere near as big and muscular as the front rows are now.
Going to gym was twice a week for about 2 hours usually and that was that although our general fitness and stamina was very good I would say but strength wise blimey, not even close to the modern players. |
By:
That's a good standard Slippy, surprised you had time for Rugby what with your other hobbies !! Actually both you and Feltfair make good points, but you can only be as good as the time era you were in.Look how athletes have developed and cut times for all distances,Football is much faster now than when Stanly Matthews was playing etc etc .I'm sure if you both started playing now you both would adapt to today's conditions. Let's face it everything is bigger stronger and faster than things years ago ( except my horses!). I still reckon that Welsh team of the early 70s would of acquitted themselves well in this world cup.

By:
But leaner means better stamina and pace, you can destroy bulkier lads with it if your smart
Problem is one hit can slow you down a bit ![]() |
By:
Not sure about "leaner means better and stamina and pace" wouldn`t fancy trying to stop Bundee Aki coming out of the scrum at me.

Thought the kick off for this one was later for some reason! - anyway Ita 7 - 17 Uru HT . Yellow for Uru and now Italy in for two early second half tries to take the lead 21 - 17. All Italy so far this half.
By:
In again - looks like I missed all the bloody fun - Ita 28 - 17 Uru
By:
Italy had 2 yellows 25 and 27th mins , fortunate to only concede 10pts
Uruguay plenty mistakes Wales 1.79 ht looks a steal now |
By:
Ok cheers Blencathra. Uruguay steamrolled second half FT Italy 38 - 17 Uruguay.
By:
France win 96-0
Ref gives pen try on 79.30 ish and Namibia kick off gives France chance at 100+ points, run it back But pass goes into touch. 100 looked impossible at 79.25.. Some sweaty palms no doubt. |
By:
Dupont out of the tournement
France 4.7 now ![]() |
By:
Big loss.
I remember when head protection was brought into cycling and cricket. Rugby got major issue with concussions, and the odd cracked skull Surely it's time... some trials, at least. |
By:
Samoa first minute yellow. Lol
By:
This has been the worse match of the tournie. Skill on show very poor from both teams
By:
Argentina turned down several easy penalties then take a shot from half way. Decision making very poor.
By:
Argentina were very average. Just done enough to get the job done.
FT Pumas 19 - 10 Samoa |
By:
Hi Hunt,thanks for asking.
How is it going? Wales to wave bye bye. Waltzing Matilda. |
By:
No jokes here Hunt
Clearly has without doubt to be the number1 outstanding rugby player (Any code)anywhere on gods planet. |
By:
Yes , Nathan Clearly an excellent player agreed, but whether he has it in him to play well against the likes of Wigan, St Helens and Leigh week in and week out is debatable.......A lot of Ozzie superstars do struggle here !!! Anyway hope you will be watching the mighty England progress this week while your team catches the early plane home !! Keep well, its good to talk
By:
Hi Mr Hunt,I will be watching.Wonder if SA will end Sexton's test career or indeed career?
BTW what do you think is the result the Scots are looking for in the SA vsIre game today? Waltzing Matilda Dressed in Green and Gold. Good luck m8. |
By:
Well San , I think that Scotland would want SA to beat Ireland otherwise they will have a huge points turnaround to get. Actually I think Scotland let themselves down in that first match. But then again Ireland have beaten Scotland 14 out of the last 15 meetings so who knows! You could be right about the Springbok targeting Sexton ,but he is a big boy and he knows how to handle himself .
By:
Just double checked Ireland have beaten Scotland 12 out ot the last 13 !!
By:
Take Sexton out, can't see how Ire win the tournament.France chances very much on the slide now.
By:
I'm favouring Ireland to win albeit by a narrow margin.
I'm off to Selhurst so back in good time for the game later. A Palace and Ireland double pays just under 3/1 so that'll do me. Not too much to ask I wouldn't have thought! |
By:
France losing Dupont aint good news
Still think theyll do it mind |
By:
South Africa seem to be going about their business efficiently and under the radar which worries me
Both their WC wins have happened when the above happened |
By:
Portugal giving this a good go
By:
Geo 13 - 11 Por
By:
wow Portugal take the lead
