Sadly slippy wasn't there,were you?
By:
Not sure exactly what you mean by that?
Anyway, I've decided on my punt for N.Z. v Argentina. N.Z. - 17.5 on here @ 1.95 is the way to go. |
By:
Anyway,my first thoughts were the same, but the more I have thought and thought going for NZ win by 5 or under.
Sa win by 5 or under. |
By:
England havn't played anyone good. SA will batter them 36-10
By:
Forecast looks to be wet for both semi finals lads,so makes double figure handicaps a little more tricky

It is a dry, hot, sunny(very) afternoon now in Paris.A few showers mid morning but they look to have gone for the rest of the day.But I suppose can quickly change.
By:
Gotta be with you Slippy, think New Zealand will go for it tonight, Just cant see Argentina with this team staying within 20.
By:
Well let's hope it's a case of "great minds" Hunty!
I've thought about the game a lot and how things will pan out and I keep coming back to a ruthless win for New Zealand comfortably out gunning Argentina. |
By:
Raining,greasy,slippy.Tricky conditions.
By:
Gardner given the ABs every tight call. Pumas not happy
By:
Argentina doing better than predicted
But NZ have gears I think |
By:
HT-- NZ 20 - 6 Arg
By:
NZ cruising it
By:
It's going to be a very long second half for Argentina.
It looks like their legs are weary already and N.Z. to put a good few more points on the board to come. |
By:
NZ 34-6 Arg ----- Oh well - see you all at 2am for Taranaki v Hawke's Bay
![]() |
By:
N.Z. are turning the screw nicely, it did very much look like it was on the cards.
N.Z. 36 - 6 Argentina ( 51 minutes.) |
By:
A fair drift on England after this N.Z. performance.
16.5 out to 19.5. |
By:
a wonder how the people feel who took the 4.5/4.6 on England to win WC about 4 years ago
still in it, in the semi finals, 3 teams left in it and they are trading at 20 ![]() |
By:
I wonder*
By:
You have to give huge kudos to Argentina for making the semi finals. They have been found wanting tonight but they did themselves proud for sure.

-- I like Argentina, but their achievement is what? Beating Wales?
Those who complain that SFs are non-events are correct but at least there was 4 good games last week. If the 'big 4' - NZ, Ire, SA, Fra were seeded in QFs we would have had 4 non-events last week. So overall in the 6 QF/SF games e have had 4 evenly matched, compared to 2. End of the Day given the 4 matches so far between NZ, Ire, SA, Fra (each have 1 win, 1 loss) - the NZ - SA final promises to be a cracker, and thus make 5 cracking matches between those 4 superb teams. Any of them could have won this. |

any concerns about the draw in general going forward for clarity, Wallflower ?

any concerns about the draw in general going forward for clarity, Wallflower ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- None, actually. Some think its unfortunate - I was just pointing out that in the 6 knockout matches we had so over the 6 so far ( assuming SA hammering England) - if "purely" seeded we would only have had 2 good matches, but we got 4. Besides everyone knew NZ/Ire, SA/Fra were the real semi-finals - but so what ( other than their records). Will we ever have 4 QFs like those every again for excitement and tension. I hate seeding, if you are good enough you win - in football (soccer, to other brethens ). Its ruined Champions League, World Cups etc. Just fire teams into a hat, in qualifying for knock-out stages make sure 2/3 teams get through - so each team has some wriggle room. Stop carting paths for perceived strong teams to waltz through.NFL has it right - better ypundo, harder the schedule next time. ( theoretically) |

Great shout again Hunty, you certainly know your onions.

So - next rugby World cup?
All 20 teams into the hat - 4 groups of 5, NO SEEDING. In fact - its the only fair sporting approach. If you look at champions league - as a Celtic fan I know i MUST play Man.City, as a PSG fan I know I wont face Man.City - how is that fair? I know not having seeding creates 'lop-sided' draws (sometimes )- but seeding in any sport creates un-sporting rules imo. |
By:
.... don't mean Man. City specifically meaning a top seed,

Thanks Slippy., had a nice return tonight. Did start the whole thread saying I fancied NZ to win it outright, at least I have the final to look forward to.Well done yourself as well , it was a good early write-up.

Angus Gardner - another rugby referee who thinks he’s the star of the show. New Zealand benefitted from his incompetence. He didn’t give Barrett a yellow for cynical play until prompted by big brother. The replay showed Gardner looking right at the incident when letting it go. So hard to call rugby games as a lot hinges on the clown with a whistle.

It is criminal there will be empty seats in Paris tonight, sell them cheaply or give them to schoolkids. The 8/11 on oddschecker on England finishing in 3rd place looks a good bet. Unfortunately the 3 books offering the bet I would not trust and will not open account with them.Enjoy the game and be lucky.
By:
Just do the bet manually on the exchange Second Again. Back South Africa tonight, then put all returns on England to beat Argentina. You will get more than 8/11 for the double I'd think
By:
Cheers JPSER I have had a little on. I can see England next being very short if they are beaten tonight after what the 14 did to Argentina earlier although 3rd 4th games can have strange results. Only a few hours to wait now.
By:
I'll be cheering on England tonight got an outright bet on NZ still running
By:
Morning guys,I think everyone is writing off England too easily .Ok might not win but I think +14 is a decent bet,as I expect Farrell to get at least 3 or 4 penalties at the posts and I think the saffers will just want to win not go score crazy .
By:
Good call on NZ handicap bet guys !!
Had ago on England HT SA FT. Got 9.2 on here yesterday. ![]() GL with your bets and enjoy the game. ![]() |
By:
This is a very tricky handicap to assess, England + 13.5 on here @ 1.96.
I'll have to have a think about this. |
By:
On the outright I've now got England to wipe my face.
It was cheap to do that and I've put it in the "You never know" betting department. ![]() |
By:
"You never know"
or "A fool and his money are easily parted" ![]() good luck |
By:
Easy to overthink this match...SA a different class of team in nearly every position and will confirm that with a winning margin of 20 plus...simples... ;-)
By:
Yeah cant see us even challenging sadly
South Africa are a comfortable winner tonight |
By:
just hope its a good game to watch. good luck with your bets everyone
