Minutes after the Beehive announcement, New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has confirmed a domestic form of Super Rugby involving the Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders – known as Investec Super Rugby Aotearoa – would start on Saturday 13 June, allowing players four weeks to prepare with contact training.
NZ Rugby is looking at a 10-week, two-round home-and-away competition to decide a 2020 champion. There will be no finals and matches will be behind closed doors, at least until gatherings restrictions are lifted. The competition will see the five Super Rugby clubs playing each other home and away over 10 weeks, with two matches every weekend at 5.05pm on Saturdays and 3.05pm on Sundays. |

Good morning, rugby fans.

12-19 after 68. Chiefs faltering, but hopefully a good finish.

Brilliant try, BLUES

Gatland being found out on his return to NZ. His Chiefs team look very poor
|
|
By:
Easy victory for the Blues

|

The Chiefs set piece is poor. You'd think a coach that has spent the last decade or so in the NH might do a bit better with that.

Do the Highlanders not know a Thai is a Thai is a Thai, FFS?!?
|
|
By:
Mitch Hunt bottled it when under pressure with that easy miss pen to make it 27 - 27
|
|
By:
Not aftertiming but always thought the 11.5 points starts for the Highlanders was a good deal. Wish I'd taken it.

Why does the TMO sound like he's about to land on the moon in 1969?

Another defeat for Gatland's team. Chief supporters not happy

Crusaders 1.3+ at home. Not a price you see very often!

Scrum? I thought held-up was now a goal-line drop-out?

26-15 after 76.
36 games undefeated at home. Class. |

Auckland Blues played very well in that game. Score not a true reflection of the closeness of the match. Blues aggression just great to see and Ortere Black is just outstanding.

looks like this weekends markets are up erroneously, the draw has disappeared !
this is not NRL |
|
By:
Reading the market information, this appears to be a conscious decision, probably as a result of them ballsing up the management of the Friday morning Aussie game last week....
No draw = no play for me. |
|
By:
I've requested the 80 min markets be added via live chat. Suggest anyone else who feels strongly does the same as my lone voice might not be enough.
|
|
By:
i see the aussie matches already have an 80 minute market including the draw , can only see this splitting liquidity
will request market amending as im probably in a very small minority who regularly trades the draw in rugby union, not sure of rules in the NZ comp but think a draw is still possible if tied after 10 mins of extra time? |
|
By:
In an ideal world there would be a separate golden point market, so that we can avoid the liquidity split you talk about. Assuming they would only want to make that live after regular time is up, that may be a step too far in their willingness to manage the market.
I don't understand why they have setup the NZ and Aus markets differently.... Possible outcomes should be the same, IMHO. |
|
By:
After the Reds-Rebels mess on Friday an additional extra time market was available for the rest of the matches over the weekend. Why not continue doing that? Classic Betfair.
|
|
By:
To add to the above the extra time market last weekend was closed to be traded once a draw eventuated. The correct way of doing it but now they've effectively split liquidity and don't seem to realise the same extra time applies in NZ. Incompetent.
|
|
By:
yes now see 80 minute market up for NZ matches , i will have a go at the 80 minute market in the aussie match tomorrow and see if there is liquidity ,if not i shall not bother getting involved in an nrl type market.
