Long time since I ventured in these parts, and RL seems to have the same presence it does in the national press - bugger all.
Anyway, traditionally the first match of the summer sport is played in blizzard conditions and often throws up a shock. I doubt we're in for a blizzard in Leeds tonight, but I'll take Wire anytime at 2/1 in this game. Leeds have lost some major players, looked to have made some dodgy recruits, have no recognised kicker, and have had their pre-season majorly disrupted by the River Aire. It must also be difficult for Leeds to be truly motivated as they know they are never going to top last season. Wire on the other hand have signed a couple of NRL players with good reputations, and will be looking to improve on 2015, when they disappointed hugely (although they did beat Leeds twice). Of course, putting money on Wire is a risky business as they are so deceptive (aka crap) when they shouldn't be, but I can't resist that 2/1 and thereabouts.
Whereas last year I expected Warrington to impress, this year I can't help but thinking their squad looks rather weak. Of course, that means the exact opposite will happen!
They look like they have a decent pack, but very little depth. They have a few injuries already, but their team tonight looks average. I'd argue worse than Hudds and Cas.
As for Leeds, who knows how they will go without Sinfield and Peacock. They have a few injuries too.
Anything can and does happen in Round 1 though.

Tbh, Hudds have 1 hb on the pitch and Leeds have none...that's the only difference between both teams.
