A rare event coming up next. Castres have named a proper team for an away match. Almost as rare an event as them winning an away game. At least today they may try for about 20 minutes, which will be 18 mins more than usual.

I missed it was watching the last C4 race from Ascot which was a cracker. Looks like they will still be well in this come HT though still hard to imagine them winning it from what I have seen.

oh well, French led some down the road of wasted funds in that first period of the second half. A false dawn.
Speaking of which, time to have a go at Munster. Glos are such a ridiculous team they could well give us some fun this evening if they can get amongst things up front, or should I say "front up" Regardless, I feel strangely happier laying Munster than Leinster.

Pretty rubbish day for me today, after a good result last night. Biggest bet of the day is on Racing Metro though, struggling to see how Llanelli handle this giant French pack.

Priestland misses 2 kicks at goal. Then Racing fail to score a try due to the bounce of the ball. Not 100% sure Sexton needed to cross kick, but if it bounced up for Plante it was 0-5.

Absolute shambles of a scrum, could probably have penalised each team twice in that, but Metro score. Could have been Metro wheeling it, or Scarlets failing to keep it straight, but Paterson just says play on.

That lump has been seen before on a few other games this weekend. Wanted a similar amount on Montpellier at 1.27 and I was too busy faffing around to lay any.

you must have very deep pockets RM - I am a pauper bettor in comparison
good luck anyway - it was a lovely value lay with Scarlets having a pen which they then scored and still it didn't go

I had a hefty wedge on Metro to start, got out at 1.36 and 1.44 because 12 minutes in that's just too good to turn down, so had a bit to play with, but I still laid a lot more than I should really be laying. Out again now, although I could do with levelling off completely and sitting back with a cuppa.
I'm all for low odds in tight games early in the first half!

and there is the scaffolding mention and now "he's a tough boy" it's 1.01 that gets a mention every game he plays in this HC

What a turnaround. One very iffy yellow for Racing, one very fair one (could have been red) and the Scarlets capitalise, although they never looked like doing much damage up front.
20-10 HT

Yes, I'm inclined to agree, although he helped them with their first try by just shrugging his shoulders and giving up. Was pretty much my reaction as well though to be fair.

How daft was that. One player did brilliantly to push Scarlets off the ruck, the next one bombs in from the side.
Although if the ref pinged the first one, which it sounded like, he's a pillock.

Quinnel is right that that could have been a pen, IF a Scarlets player is actually blocked. If nobody makes an effort towards the ball they can't be blocking anyone. Not sure they were all listening at training.

Bill MaClaren's love for the game outshone his close links with Scottish rugby though there were times when he got a little more excited when Scotland were playing.
English comms have an advantage in the biased/unbiased stakes as they so rarely communicate any passion.

To be fair he tries his best to be calm, but somehow he sounds worse than Butler while actually being less biased. Just the way he tells 'em.
What about Brian Moore To be fair he tries his best to be calm, but somehow he sounds worse than Butler while actually being less biased. Just the way he tells 'em.
personally I like the passion as long as they try to interpret what they see fairly.
Brian Moore improved and I found it amusing he couldn't watch a scrum without complaining about the ball not being put in straight.
Surely BM AND EB are the BBC's top team.
