Leigh Halfpenny, Tommy Bowe, Brian O'Driscoll (captain), Manu Tuilagi, George North, Jonny Sexton; Conor Murray; Cian Healy, Rory Best, Dan Cole, Alun-Wyn Jones, Ian Evans, Tom Croft, Sean O'Brien, Jamie Heaslip. Replacements: Tom Youngs, Mako Vunipola, Matt Stevens, Geoff Parling, Toby Faletau, Ben Youngs, Owen Farrell, Sean Maitland.
Looks an exciting side with the 4 time tourist leading the way. Warburton again misses out and there must be concern now about him being ready for June 22. However, Tipuric is in such good form we probably shouldn't be worried and on paper have excellent back row options everywhere.
Vunipola comes on an breaks tackles instantly as well. Faletau still to come, some really good ball-carries knocking around the Lions side. O'Brien playing very well (still aint a 7 though)

Stock Falling - Best, the No.4???, Croft & heaslip
The rest are showing flashes BUT not really stamping authority & amking there mark on the game tbh

I thought Croft and Heaslip did ok that half. Best was a mess again, which is a real shame. Neither lock did much of anything really, so Parling will be hoping to get on.
Sexton and Bowe working together very well. Need partnerships like that on a Lions tour.

not much to beat so far at Lock tbh, POC did well until his blood binning Sat. I know they do the dirty work but seriously Ian Evans has been no-where & wyn-jones is all reputation so far, spent most of his time blowing throu his ar$e in both games.

Playing Rory Best without Paul O'Connell to throw to is not going to enhance his chances of playing test rugby . But I reckon Gatland and co know that as well as I do .

thought Heaslip & Croft were mostly annoymouse that half, it's a tendancy of there's im afraid during matches. yes a coupla flashes at key moments so they stick in the mind but otehrwise.....

To be fair, how many days in the past two years has he done wrong? Only match that springs to mind is WC semi vs France, even with 14 men he could have won it for us.

Got to remember that last time round the first Lions team played a SA pub team and nearly got beat. Not easy to gel straight away.
Defending hasn't been good enough really.Got to remember that last time round the first Lions team played a SA pub team and nearly got beat. Not easy to gel straight away.
Most players did well enough today. Can't expect miracles first up, but the whole backline looked slick and even Murray did ok. Not convinced about Evans or Best though, both looked very average. Hell of a contribution from Vunipola when he came on, not a single backward step from the fatty. Good game for O'Brien as well.
