Leigh Halfpenny, Tommy Bowe, Brian O'Driscoll (captain), Manu Tuilagi, George North, Jonny Sexton; Conor Murray; Cian Healy, Rory Best, Dan Cole, Alun-Wyn Jones, Ian Evans, Tom Croft, Sean O'Brien, Jamie Heaslip.
Replacements: Tom Youngs, Mako Vunipola, Matt Stevens, Geoff Parling, Toby Faletau, Ben Youngs, Owen Farrell, Sean Maitland.

Looks an exciting side with the 4 time tourist leading the way.  Warburton again misses out and there must be concern now about him being ready for June 22.  However, Tipuric is in such good form we probably shouldn't be worried and on paper have excellent back row options everywhere.

I don't often say this but I am looking forward to Ben Youngs coming on
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 11:39 AM BST
Without the Welsh this team are useless.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:40 AM BST
At the moment Vis I'm actually keen to see Tom Youngs get on, which is saying something....
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:41 AM BST
There we go. Lovely move.
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:41 AM BST
Laugh RM
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:42 AM BST
OK that's already one look too many get on with it ffs
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:42 AM BST
North does offload there and it's a try. Not a coincidence. Lovely hands in a tight space by all the backline.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:43 AM BST
Does make you wonder what the full back was up to there? Was miles away for some reason.
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:45 AM BST
This looks really bad for Healy
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:45 AM BST
UH OH

Healey out?
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:45 AM BST
That's him gone looking by all reactions Cry
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:46 AM BST
Yes, that looks like a mighty blow for the Lions.

Cool
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:49 AM BST
Healy could be out on two counts if they pick up a bite on the cameras later.
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 11:49 AM BST
gone off with blood poisoning after biting the Force scrum half.
Report guinness2dear June 5, 2013 11:53 AM BST
Let them play on the fackin numbskull..
Report mrtopnotch June 5, 2013 11:53 AM BST
Looked at it 3 times now , no bite there, sour grapes already by the Farce.
hope healy is ok cause we're in trouble without him
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:54 AM BST
Piece of piss.

Roll on Sat.  Hopefully the Reds are putting a proper team out.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:55 AM BST
Good stuff Lions to finish, probably should have been a yellow card for ball-killing otherwise.

Force don't really have an answer.
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 11:55 AM BST
I'm still saying by 60 or 70.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 11:55 AM BST
Vunipola comes on an breaks tackles instantly as well. Faletau still to come, some really good ball-carries knocking around the Lions side. O'Brien playing very well (still aint a 7 though)
Report furrelli June 5, 2013 11:59 AM BST
it's ok isn't it......

Stock Rising - Cole, SOB, The Samoan & North

Stock Falling - Best, the No.4???, Croft & heaslip

The rest are showing flashes BUT not really stamping authority & amking there mark on the game tbh
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 12:00 PM BST
Will be good to see Parling get a run here.  He can definitely put a marker down.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:03 PM BST
I thought Croft and Heaslip did ok that half. Best was a mess again, which is a real shame. Neither lock did much of anything really, so Parling will be hoping to get on.

Sexton and Bowe working together very well. Need partnerships like that on a Lions tour.
Report Ozymandius June 5, 2013 12:05 PM BST
6. SOB
7. Tipuric
8. Heaslip

on the brief form show to date.
Report furrelli June 5, 2013 12:05 PM BST
not much to beat so far at Lock tbh, POC did well until his blood binning Sat. I know they do the dirty work but seriously Ian Evans has been no-where & wyn-jones is all reputation so far, spent most of his time blowing throu his ar$e in both games.
Report Kelly June 5, 2013 12:05 PM BST
Playing Rory Best without Paul O'Connell to throw to is not going to enhance his chances of playing test rugby .  But I reckon Gatland and co know that as well as I do .
Report furrelli June 5, 2013 12:07 PM BST
thought Heaslip & Croft were mostly annoymouse that half, it's a tendancy of there's im afraid during matches. yes a coupla flashes at key moments so they stick in the mind but otehrwise.....
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:07 PM BST
Mike Phillips would make a difference.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:09 PM BST
I had a sprained ankle last year and it was 4 months before it felt right again. Certainly wasn't running for well over a month.
Report furrelli June 5, 2013 12:09 PM BST
not convinced Cat, best of an average bunch is all, Murray (poor mans Phillips) started off ok but faded
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 12:10 PM BST
This force team are seriously useless
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:10 PM BST
I wish I ever had the chance to score tries as easy as that!
Report Ozymandius June 5, 2013 12:10 PM BST
Heaslip has been immense for the last 5 weeks.
Report Kelly June 5, 2013 12:12 PM BST
Agree Ozy , pity he did not play anywhere near that when he was captaining Ireland in Six nations .
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 12:13 PM BST
lol Best can't even play in the loose
Report furrelli June 5, 2013 12:13 PM BST

Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:14 PM BST

Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:18 PM BST
Erm, early tackle? How can Sheehan possibly be legal at that scrum?
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:19 PM BST
Hands up who wants to tackle Vunipola?
Report TheVis June 5, 2013 12:20 PM BST

Leigh Halfpenny, no competition, best player in the squad, best player on the British Isles.

FFS RORY, that was never straight.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:25 PM BST

One down
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:28 PM BST
There's the quick first.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:28 PM BST
That's the first. Would have been very disappointed if they couldn't score there.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:29 PM BST
Tommy Bowe or Alex Cuthbert, even being Welsh I'd have to say Tommy.
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:29 PM BST

Halfpenny floating on air. Some days you just cant do wrong.
Report Vintage Tipple June 5, 2013 12:30 PM BST
Says a lot that the forwards have not been able to push over yet
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:31 PM BST
To be fair, how many days in the past two years has he done wrong? Only match that springs to mind is WC semi vs France, even with 14 men he could have won it for us.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:31 PM BST
Don't concede here.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:32 PM BST
FFS. HC back in danger.
Report Vintage Tipple June 5, 2013 12:33 PM BST
Sexton is as bad as Rog when defending a line
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:33 PM BST
Defending hasn't been good enough really.

Got to remember that last time round the first Lions team played a SA pub team and nearly got beat. Not easy to gel straight away.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:34 PM BST
Class try!
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:34 PM BST
Bugger me, that was a brilliant move for new combinations. How slick was that??
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:34 PM BST
48-17

make that 55-17
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:35 PM BST
If only England had a centre with BOD's brains. Backline would be a different proposition with someone always running off Tuilagi's shoulder.
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:35 PM BST
9 of 9 kicking. Better kickers in the world?
Report Vintage Tipple June 5, 2013 12:36 PM BST

Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:37 PM BST
Let Leigh take it and take him off with 10 from 10
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:37 PM BST
Good finish. Lovely touches in there from Halfpenny and Vunipola. Force look dead and buried.
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:37 PM BST
17 points has to be a concern

bring out Shaun Edwards for Farrell (dad)
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:38 PM BST
1.35 to win by here with one converted try, seems decent?
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:38 PM BST
Dont concede here PLEASE.
Report Vintage Tipple June 5, 2013 12:40 PM BST
Good defence there, pushed them back off htree consecutive phases
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:41 PM BST
Oh dear.
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:42 PM BST
Surely BOD should have been yellowed there, not Wyn-Jones?
Report HGsuperhoopza June 5, 2013 12:42 PM BST
Still think they'll score another with 14, all about not conceding though.
Report Vintage Tipple June 5, 2013 12:44 PM BST

Report Butchos123 June 5, 2013 12:52 PM BST

Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:52 PM BST
Bloody good start that for the Lions. Hit the ground running with a good scoreline and some very slick moments. Only just off the plane.
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:54 PM BST
tight for the 51.5 backers

Cool
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 12:56 PM BST
Wyn-Jones looked perplexed at being given a yellow

defence coach should be busy
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 12:58 PM BST
CC - it was because BOD ripped it out and Wyn Jones got carded. Ref got the right decision, but wrong man.
Report curious-cat June 5, 2013 1:02 PM BST
maybe they look the same horizontally Laugh

I liked the way Owen Farrell played when he came on. Shocked
Report RugbyMan June 5, 2013 1:06 PM BST
Most players did well enough today. Can't expect miracles first up, but the whole backline looked slick and even Murray did ok. Not convinced about Evans or Best though, both looked very average. Hell of a contribution from Vunipola when he came on, not a single backward step from the fatty. Good game for O'Brien as well.
Report Kelly June 5, 2013 1:06 PM BST
Like the Lions playing Connacht  , stopped watching it at half time . Useless for betting purposes .
