I'm thinking this will be a double figure win for Ireland on a fine day in Rome but I don't particularly like the odds on the margins.  5/4 three+ tries is now my bet.

That's all down to Rob Kearney inviting that pressure. Useless coont.
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 3:44 PM GMT
Come on Ire let's see some spirit now
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:45 PM GMT
Ireland have to let these young backs play how they lie by running the ball, gotta let them play their natural game.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:46 PM GMT
Two best players on the pitch do the two silliest things of the game.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:46 PM GMT
Talking of good players with nasty in them.....look no further than Parisse
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 3:46 PM GMT
Gives Ire some hope
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:47 PM GMT
Ireland have a chance with Madigan in there, he will create chances if the forwards give him ball.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:48 PM GMT
O'Brien's forearm went straight into the tacklers face there and it's not the first time that's happened. One day he will either do some nasty damage or get himself sent off.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:49 PM GMT
How did Ireland not get a pen from that scrum?
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:51 PM GMT
Italy hitting the self destruct button here.
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 3:51 PM GMT
If the Italians stay bound and stay down then there is no pen to give
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:51 PM GMT
The problem with that pen is that Lo Cicero isn't actually holding the ball. Defenders just get an automatic pen if they get there first and cant pick it up. It's O'Driscoll's own fault that he has put his arm through the players legs.
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 3:53 PM GMT
15 against 13 there and jackson kicks it out, no tactical awareness from the Irish there at all
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 3:53 PM GMT
Italy are going to pot
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:54 PM GMT
Definitely a case of who loses it, not who wins it, at the moment.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:56 PM GMT
Erm, if his hand is on it is out? No? ok...
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 3:57 PM GMT
3 for the annoying one................damn damn damn
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:57 PM GMT
HOW THE FOOK IS THAT NOT YELLOW?
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:57 PM GMT
Italy cannot handle Madigan
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 3:58 PM GMT
For a guy who loves giving yellows, that is disgraceful
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 3:58 PM GMT
Madigan does look very sharp
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:58 PM GMT
Had to be yellow, although why Healy was allowed to put his mitts on it and it wasn't called out I don't know. Happens far too often.

I hate 1pt gaps.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 3:59 PM GMT
I've still yet to see Madigan ever control a game, but "sharp" is certainly a good word to use for him. Picking some lovely lines.
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 3:59 PM GMT
Should have been yellow for blue 9, never onside there, RM ball needs to be out of the ruck not just hands on, but Healy was taking the piss there allright
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:00 PM GMT
oh dear this could be game over
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:00 PM GMT
That's what you get for bringing on Toner in an international Cry
Report stewardsenquirey March 16, 2013 4:00 PM GMT
No intent there.
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:01 PM GMT
could be red here
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:01 PM GMT
Think it was Gilroy actually
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:01 PM GMT
actually looks like everybody was going for the ball so no probs
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:01 PM GMT
good decision
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:02 PM GMT
Still hass to be an Italy penalty? He was taken in the air?
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:02 PM GMT
Gilroy very luck there
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:02 PM GMT
God alive that looks horrible. If both Irish players didn't have their eyes upwards that was red.

I can't see why no pen though.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:03 PM GMT
This one goes well wide methinks.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:03 PM GMT
The producer is awful on Italy TV. Replay of thte scrum penalty please?
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:04 PM GMT
It had to be a pen, even if no intent or accidental its a pen, still think that gilroy was very lucky
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:05 PM GMT
Well done Italy, that was crap again.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:06 PM GMT
Rory Best should never play for Ireland again let alone the Lions
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:06 PM GMT
Archer on, Archer gives away pen......
Report yummy March 16, 2013 4:07 PM GMT
Archer's 1st penalty conceded ...2 mins maybe
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:07 PM GMT
tbh the BOD incident was against Henson ..... it was replayed on TV but not spotted by the officials as the ball was long gone. It was a cheap shot.

I was always assumed BOD took a dislike to players who spray-tanned their skin. Grin
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
first scrum to see Archer's second pen?
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
its ryan actually, and hes yellow carded as well
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
Root cause lads.... Rory Best missing his man.... no penalty if he doesn't underthrow.
Report leroyb March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
who was carded for ire?
Report leroyb March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
and why?
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:08 PM GMT
that made little sense....

I think most players think the same way CC.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:09 PM GMT
O'Driscoll for ireland = stamp
Parrisse for Italy = trip
Report leroyb March 16, 2013 4:09 PM GMT
thanks but i mean ryan?
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:09 PM GMT
And Archer for pulling down the maul?

Nope, Donnacha Ryan apparently
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:09 PM GMT
we could still have a draw.

con try to Ire - pg to Italy
Report leroyb March 16, 2013 4:10 PM GMT
ah ok
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:10 PM GMT
D Ryan for dangerous play at the lineout
Report posy March 16, 2013 4:10 PM GMT

Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:10 PM GMT
Didn't see that one at all.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:11 PM GMT
Why did it take 70+ mins for Best to be replaced again?
Report uncle nasty March 16, 2013 4:11 PM GMT
ireland brainless
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:12 PM GMT
Italy finally got Orquera a bit flatter and hit the line at pace, then what a surprise they made some yards.
Report ballaman68 March 16, 2013 4:12 PM GMT
Because Kidney has no faith at all in his replacement front row
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:12 PM GMT
are you BOD's uncle ? uncle nasty Laugh
Report sewter lives again March 16, 2013 4:13 PM GMT
England "form" looking good now

Italy not so "easy" are they?
Report uncle nasty March 16, 2013 4:13 PM GMT
scrums a yawn
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:13 PM GMT
1 min 30 secs for that scrum at this stage of the game. Joke
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:13 PM GMT
And the clock stops 10 secs after they go to make the subs
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:15 PM GMT
Big 5 mins now for Ireland, Italy and France.

French are 23pts behind Ireland on points difference, so currently need to beat Scotland by 19pts to avoid the wooden spoon.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:15 PM GMT
Already a minute for this scrum...
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:15 PM GMT
Scotland and Wales played ok against Italy ... whoever included all UK teams ... in their 'why do all UK teams struggle against Italy'
Report stewardsenquirey March 16, 2013 4:16 PM GMT
The Welsh victory looks better form than Englands as that was in Rome.
Report stewardsenquirey March 16, 2013 4:17 PM GMT
Ireland have made Italy look good anyway.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:17 PM GMT
Wales were far from as convincing as 14pt win suggests, which leaves Scotland as the only team to convincingly win against Italy. Now there's an oddity.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:18 PM GMT
Did Murray just attack Canale off the ball?
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:19 PM GMT
What a cracking bet my Ire overs on tries was Laugh
Report stewardsenquirey March 16, 2013 4:19 PM GMT
Scotland and England played them both at home though.
Report yummy March 16, 2013 4:19 PM GMT
if Italy were accurate they could have won by 15-20

Injuries continue to dog Ireland
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:20 PM GMT
Wales were playing away RM

and I said 'OK' not convincinglyAngry
Report sewter lives again March 16, 2013 4:20 PM GMT
Wales didnt have to play against Parisse either RM
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:21 PM GMT
wd sewter Grin
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:21 PM GMT
I will settle for OK Silly

Home or away, Italy used to get spanked by everyone and that isn't the case any more. If they find a competent 10 they could find themselves winning plenty more.
Report uncle nasty March 16, 2013 4:21 PM GMT
who's bod?
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:22 PM GMT
Well, let's hope France hammer Scotland so that Ireland finish last and Kindey definitely gets the sack.
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:24 PM GMT
I think Kidney will get the sack anyway. That is easily Ire's worst ever 6 Nations.
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:25 PM GMT
actually RM they may have received the occasional spanking but the Racing Post did well at tipping Italy on the h'c. which is a sign they were underestimated a while back.
Report curious-cat March 16, 2013 4:26 PM GMT
your nephew Uncle Nasty ?
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:29 PM GMT
France need 16pts dont they? Actually 16pts plus 2 tries, or 17pts I think.
Report Monstrous Bryan March 16, 2013 4:30 PM GMT
Hmm that -12 cap looks tasty now. How is the weather in France anyone?
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:31 PM GMT
Looked ok on the sites I checked. There were a lot of rumours of rain though so I imagine it's a case of when it starts.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:32 PM GMT
Pissing rain in Paris I believe MB so I would hold fire if I were you...
Report Monstrous Bryan March 16, 2013 4:34 PM GMT
Cheers both. If the weather is ok I fancy the Frenchies big time now. Scotland been backpedalling since the Italian game.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:37 PM GMT
Haven't found anything better, but this http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/Paris/forecasts/latest
suggests that if it hasn't started then there could well be rain by 8pm.
Report Rainier Wolfcastle March 16, 2013 4:38 PM GMT
Back to that game and the one positive for Ireland was Ian Madigan. He simply has to be involved going forward. The only player in the backline other than a fit Sexton who can make things happen.
Report TheVis March 16, 2013 4:38 PM GMT
I too think it will be a wet game
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:40 PM GMT
Will get plenty of chances now you would think RW. D'Arcy and BOD are definitely going, Sexton needs back-up. Trouble for Madigan is that he needs to get club games first.
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:41 PM GMT
If Kearney keeps playing like a tart they could put Madigan at 15 to start with.
Report ihal essex March 16, 2013 4:41 PM GMT
Who got man of the match, BBC didn't say
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:42 PM GMT
No idea, their default is always Parisse, but if Italians were picking it Lo Cicero would be odds-on.
Report ihal essex March 16, 2013 4:43 PM GMT
That's what I thought but then they took him off early
Report RugbyMan March 16, 2013 4:46 PM GMT
Got me curious now, but I can't find anything about it.
Report ihal essex March 16, 2013 4:52 PM GMT
Parisse would have got it as usual but for the fact he was sin-binned. Lo Cicero would have been the nostalgic vote
Report ihal essex March 17, 2013 1:31 PM GMT
Just found out Alessandra Zanni Man of the Match

Cheers
