Anyone who prefers rugby union to rugby league must be bonkers. Rugby league is for nancy boys |
|
By:
Rugby league is more physical than Union in my opinion, but neither codes are for any nancy boys.
|
|
By:
not so sure stewards
union players definitely bigger and heavier |
|
By:
but I agree not for nancy boys

I work with a guy that has played both codes at quite a high standard. He swears League is.But like I say,it's only the opinion I've made, and wouldn't claim to be correct.

Can barely remember Wales playing with such ferocity and commitment. Some of the tackling was out of this world. Hibbard was like a madman!
Not sure where they pulled that game from, but there were not to be denied. They wanted it, and played like warriors. Smashed England in the scrum, and defended like demons and took their chances. Fantastic stuff! |

Does this mean Wales will take over from the over hype of England winning the rugby WC now ?
England have more chance of winning it than Wales, and England have very little. |

I may be living in a parallel universe here but how on earth can you say England have a better chance of winning the World cup than Wales based on todays game???!!!!
England were completely outclassed in every department, they still lack any creativity whatsoever, and their pack is not in the top 6 packs in the world. They did very well to only lose by 27 points given the gulf in class and they wont be beating that Welsh team in a hurry. |

tbh considering england have a population of 40 odd million and wales only 3 million i think wales were amazing. we love our rugby in wales and am very proud tonite. we looked awesome

There has to be a question whether Wales can play better than that or indeed reach that level of intensity playing in England during the world cup. Irrespective England have a good record at world cups because nearly every game they play outside a world cup the other team has some real or imaginary grievance which turns them into mad axemen. By the time world cups come around England are usually (not always) battle hardened by these encounters and they too play like mad axemen thus negating the usual advantage of the other team.
It will certainly be an interesting group with England, Wales and the Aussies but history tells us that England or France are the only teams likely to win a world cup. Wales could do so with this team but they will have to learn not to accept the mantle of unlucky or plucky losers. Well done today. |

By England and France I mean northern hemisphere.

Well done Wales , you played like you wanted to win it more than England . You get out of a season what you put into it .

That will have done that Young England team the world of good losing like that on a big occassion.I rate this England team, but was gald they got don't on their but today because they were over hyped(From media and Public, not Lancaster)
Last time I checked the RWC is in 2015,England will do far better than Wales imho. Out of all the 6 Nations teams,England are the only one that have potential. Like it or not,it's the truth. |

yes, very strange comments by stewards, think he must be trying to wind us up as he cant possibly be serious.
|
|
By:
He must be.It's a fair case to say Scotland are about where England are at the moment and i wouldn't like to call the winner of that one in a one off World Cup game.

No need for an over reaction to today's game. Before today, Wales played average rugby at best. Outplayed by Ireland first half, then decent (but no more) victories against France, Italy and Scotland (admittedly away from home), being 6 Nations champions does not make us world beaters. If we can play like we did against England in every game, then that's a different matter.
For now, let's enjoy the moment! |

indeed JOCI! they're lousy chariots were last seen with no wheels, blocking the bryn glas tunnel.
![]() Feels great to DESTROY them and to watch the pathetic attempts to pick something from the ashes by their fans is just comedy gold! |

Why shouldn't Eng fans pick something from the ashes? This is the best side we have had since 2003 and we then sat through 9 years of dross. We don't get many chances to be encouraged and there are some good signs there compared to previous regimes post RWC win. Eng may not be that good, but they have beaten the best. Wales may not be that good either, given it is not so long ago that they lost 8 on the bounce.
Let's not also forgot this was the worst 6N ever. Not a view I agree with, but the usual line was being trotted out once again on here - mostly when it looked like Eng were going to win it ![]() |

Absolutely Vis. I agree laregely with Eternaloptimist. Most opponents raise their game for a match against England, it's the way of the world and there's no denying it. England got to a WC final with the worst team they've had in 10 years in 2007 and they are AT HOME in 2015.

a complete over reaction as usual, of course Wales were excellent on the day and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling the party prepared by the English media hype machine.
With twats like Inverdale spouting complete bollox-none worse than the ridiculous half time time comments in the Italy game. England cannot be assessed on purely 1 loss just as Wales cant be rated by 1 win as there are so many ifs and buts. For example what if Tuilagi hadn't dropped the easy run in under the posts after 10 minutes-a different game then I would have thought. I went to the Wales/Arg match in November where pretty much the same Welsh team was piss poor and got stuffed. Likewise you cant rate Wales on one loss to a very poor 3rd tier Ireland. Of course England will take something from the Ashes for the very reasons that Vis gives, plus by and large it was a young and inexperienced team especially compared to the Welsh team. A big criticism from my Celtic friends appears to be England's lack of creativity well from my perspective I would love England to see England line up something like 9 Take your pick 10 Freddie 11 Strettle 12 12trees 13 Tuilangi 14 Anyone but Ashton 15 Brown/Foden Well done Wales ps such a shame that the try scoring English born/educated Cuthbert decided to jump ship |
