Any reason why NZ won't continue with their trend of obliterating teams here? Hard to see them being so wasteful again as they were against Aus. Conrad Smith comes back into the attack whicih must be worth around 10 points in terms of being more clinical. If Argentina, come out and try to attack, they're likely to be opened up so the only real question is... how long can they hold out?

very windy and now here comes the rain. anyone who took an early 'cap on Arg should be well pleased.

Yeah, just saw the rain when the camera went pitchside for the Haka. Looks like it's blowing a gale too. Trouble is that nobody plays better in these conditions than the ABs!

AB's may play well in bad weather bound to make scoring tough and Arggies love an arm wrestle

Managed to get some on Unders in the low 40s so hopefully this nasty weather continues. Perfectly set up for the Argies to play a tight game now.

Come on Poite. How did Arg not get a pen for tackler not rolling away?

dunno why Arg kicked for touch there but good build up play, lots of AB mistakes

Ffs Nonu

So NZ have a huge wind behind them and instead of hoofing it away from their tryline they give it to Nonu - a man with hands like tits on a wet day?

You get what you deserve sometimes.

how many NZ knock ons already? Arg handling conditions better and NZ have wind advantage too

Good stuff so far from Argentina. Even scored a try so far, which is more than they usually achieve. NZ look confused.

apart from a couple of really stupid pens a very impressive start from Arg.

Argies have a real chance second half can make it to half time with this still a one score game. Huge wind advantage favouring the ABs at the moment.

if Arg can stay within 9 at the half they could have a real chance of winning this
as long as they wind stays in same direction

That would have been very interesting if Hernandez got to that first. Real chance for Argentina to go ahead there. NZ offering nothing.

Poite was been very quick to notice Arg offside earlier but any number of NZ players not behind the ruck there.

Yes, refereeing certainly not favouring Argentina at the moment. Seems to be the same offences being treated differently.

That pass was 5 yards forwards ffs.

How can they not see that????

Went over the Puma defenders head!

Just as well he found a defensive pen there as that pass from Smith was miles forward.

i think you may have to reconsider the "nobody plays better in these conditions" comment Dunc. they look a bit lost at the mo.

at least it should help the, so far pretty poor, NZ decision making being against the wind in 2nd half as they will just have to keep it in hand

NZ shoving scrum half over = no pen. Player going down after rucking player = pen. I wonder if that would have been the same if the shirts were the opposite colours?

AB's have been pathectic in this Championship so far.You could maybe blame the weather today, but they were dross in the 2 previous games against The Wallabies.

Jesus Poite, they were 5 yards behind where Cruden knocked it on by the edge of the 22 and it's advantage over?

another physics defying turnover from the AB's

how do they do it????

If NZ have been pathetic I think we should all get on SA heavily because NZ waltzed past the Aussies last round.
By:

When: 08 Sep 12 09:19
Well, if NZ keep getting bailed out by Poite they will probably get a victory here, but right now they don't look capable of achieving it on their own.

Ha ha nl, they look a little bit lost and but for a lot of help from Poite they could well be behind here. Some very dumb rugby played by them given the wind they had. That's the difference between Cruden and Carter though. The youngster doesn't have the game management skills yet. Carter would've kept Arg pinned in their own half there and just waited for the mistakes to come.

Indeed Dunc.  Cruden has made big strides in past 12 months, but he's still more like Giteau than Carter.  Looks very good with time/space or in an attacking game.  Difference is Carter can look good in just about any game.

Funny you should say that RM,because I was looking at Punting The Boks today(But the Boks rarely seem to be able to beat the Wallabies recently)

i hope Arg are not too tempted to just keep kicking the ball down field here when they have had plenty success with ball in hand. they have certainly frustrated the AB's

SA like Perth and if they cant walk through this Australia pack they may as well all give up the game. Worst Aussie performance I have ever seen in round 2. I have to have a crack at SA +4.

I'm not sure there's a better 10 in the world than Cruden on the front foot with ball in hand at the moment, but in terms of an all-round game and ability to read the situation I doubt we'll ever again see anyone as good as Carter.

teams back in the shed since nobody can see anything at the ground...
