No interest on here?

The drop in intensity in comparison to the three RU tests is staggering.

i see england not valuing this fixture already.  tickets are going for a fiver as well.  only way to get bums on seats in Huddersfield is to give them away for free.
Report RugbyMan June 29, 2012 12:12 AM BST
Shoul be 90,000 turning up then.
Report der_der_73 July 2, 2012 2:27 PM BST
if it was Wigan/Saints Bradford/Leeds at OT for 5 pound a pop like the Union games, then it would have no problem.  Not sure why you keep harping on about the 90,000 for the freebie event, if you want to go like for like the Union struggled to sell out for their "grand final" for many many years........the 70k plus at OT trafford and the viewing figures wipe the floor with the Union counterpart.
Report RugbyMan July 2, 2012 3:39 PM BST
How does 70k at old trafford wipe the floor with 80k at Twickenham?

Or do we have to go back into the archives to find the answer to this one?
Report der_der_73 July 2, 2012 3:49 PM BST
well i would love to know how all the empty seats would be considered a sell out?  I would say off the top of my head that the last 2 union GF's have looked full, before that the union fans struggled with the concept.

My dad is bigger than yours, bored of it now, im a lover not a fighter ;-)
Report RugbyMan July 2, 2012 3:53 PM BST
80k+ since 2007

I like to keep it going to see what tricky logic you will come up with next. Lots of opinion disguised as fact so far. I have no doubt that if the figures don't work it will be the intensity of the crowds next.....
Report der_der_73 July 2, 2012 3:56 PM BST
and like i said, lots of empty seats but they say its sold out, the RFU are masters at putting out attendances like 25,000 or 80,000.

Bored.
Report northanlite July 2, 2012 4:07 PM BST
i hear they even pay the extra VAT on the pretend sales to cover their tracks Laugh
Report der_der_73 July 2, 2012 4:33 PM BST
seriously it is funny how many Union attendances are a round number
Report der_der_73 July 2, 2012 4:34 PM BST
anyway, Union is much more intense than League, the UK club game is bigger than Super League, Aussie RL is only big in Sydney........i have learnt that now, sorry for being so naive.

14 Rob Burrow, 15 Liam Farrell, 16 Lee Mossop, 17 Scott Taylor
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 6:41 PM BST
Doesn't convince me that England should be favs whatsoever.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 7:38 PM BST
Draw price is yet again massive. Since when did evens start seeing the draw at 30+ again?

I also would have Exiles 1.5 favourites.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 7:41 PM BST
No doubt to me that the Exiles are a far better team in the backs. Question is how many tacklers do they have in the forwards?
Report tommo0001 July 4, 2012 7:47 PM BST
fkuc me,we have to contend with stevo 3 times this week,im`e turning the sound off!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 7:51 PM BST
You can't have been listening to Eddie in the build up, he was probably worse!

Great patience there from Dureau. Miles clear as the best half-back on show here.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 7:51 PM BST
England shorter than they were pre match? Hmm, okay...
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 7:52 PM BST
Exiles 6-0 up and only 10% lower than what I backed them at pre-match Sad
Report seanjames July 4, 2012 7:52 PM BST
why dont they have a yorkshire v lancashire  origin game?
Report STEPTOES YARD July 4, 2012 7:52 PM BST
that big chunk backing england at 1.7 still there when scored try

unreal
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 7:55 PM BST
Can't believe the lack of atmosphere. Crowd looks and sounds non-existent.

Can't help but think that you'd never see this were it be England v Ba Ba's in union.
Report STEPTOES YARD July 4, 2012 7:58 PM BST
just think the concept difficult for crowd

not a true natural rivalry, players missing.

very hard for crowd to get overexcited
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 7:59 PM BST
Clear knock-on by England and England end up with the advantage. Hope the reffing doesn't continue like that.

der_der will be on soon to tell us that there are 50,000 people there and it's intensity that matters......
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 7:59 PM BST
How dreadful are England.

And as much as I hate this concept, the atmosphere isn't because of the game, but the venue.
Report tommo0001 July 4, 2012 7:59 PM BST
for some reason, the huddersfield public don`t really do rugby league, giants attendances are extremely poor considering they have a good team, they ar`nt going to turn up for a meaningless match that costs 20 quid to watch
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:02 PM BST
Cudjoe's favourite tactic there: Make a tackle because the player with the ball forgot about you after he ran straight through you......
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:04 PM BST
£20 for this?

Well done RFL
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:05 PM BST
Christ this is boring. I remember why I don't watch League now!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:06 PM BST
Origin this morning was as good as rugby gets.

This is not on the same planet.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 8:07 PM BST
Draw - 32 Pre match. Exiles dominating, and the draw into the teens! Most odd.
Report vickersa1 July 4, 2012 8:08 PM BST
Huddersfield is a football town, not a rugby town. It was never clear why the RFL pumped money into Hudds (+Sheffield) in the early years of SL. I suspect it was something to do with Galpharm making promises. The support would have been much better directed at either Halifax or Keighley within the West Riding.

The whole concept of this Exiles thing is so flawed why would anyone spend money on it (or bet on it for that matter, but that's another story)?

Can't see the RFL doing this next year, there weren't so many at Saints either.
Report STEPTOES YARD July 4, 2012 8:10 PM BST

Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:11 PM BST
As suggested earlier, Lancashire v Yorkshire would have some sort of point to it.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:14 PM BST
This is so haphazard. Nobody knows what to do on the last tackle and half the players look like they are walking everywhere.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 8:15 PM BST
Lancs v Yorks failed. And the skill level isn't high enough to sustain.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:16 PM BST
Another awful last tackle option by the Exiles. Dire.
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:17 PM BST

Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:18 PM BST
England left winger's defence ain't up to much.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:19 PM BST
Stevo blaming Atkins and Briscoe for that despite it not coming out to them. Forwards not numbering up and Brough going for the wrong man.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:20 PM BST
Nope, was Smith and not Brough.
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:20 PM BST
Anyone know whether Karl Pryce is still knocking about?
Report tommo0001 July 4, 2012 8:21 PM BST
this is no help to anyone, players scared of getting injured imo
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:22 PM BST
Pryce is probably in line for losing his contract at Bradford (I think he's still there).

Gloucester will be on the phone pronto.......
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:23 PM BST
You have to love how an inch forwards in the middle of the pitch is worth talking about, but 5 yards forwards out wide to score a try can be overlooked!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:24 PM BST
Well done Thaler, that's 6pts you've saved England.

Should be 6-18
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:25 PM BST
When he first came down here he was being talked about as a future star. There were reports of him destroying people on the training field. Then it all kind of went downhill very quickly. Saw him come on for the last 20 minutes of a game and he looked awful. Overweight, slow and disinterested.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:25 PM BST
Well that's pissed me off.
Report Mariner Paul July 4, 2012 8:25 PM BST
I don't watch much rugby but why is the draw 20? I'm gonna lay that and see what happens.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:26 PM BST
It amazes me that a man who stands 6ft 6" and runs around all day (in theory) can have trouble keeping weight off.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 8:27 PM BST
Why is the draw 20? Because the teams look even. 20 is a huge price.
Report Glossy July 4, 2012 8:28 PM BST
Again, England exposed down the right.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:28 PM BST
Great play Ratchford, backed up by some crap from Taylor.

Exiles come right and should score before half-time.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:29 PM BST
Ha ha, how easy is this predicting stuff? I should do it more often!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:30 PM BST
Atkins and Briscoe are not looking good, but I don't think it's actually them to a large degree. England are not numbering up and Smith, Atkins and Briscoe keep having 4 to deal with. Only one result in that case.
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 8:31 PM BST
Briscoe is the best defensive winger England's seen for some time so he's not the problem. Which SR is out there? He should be doing a lot better.
Report tommo0001 July 4, 2012 8:31 PM BST
i know england are missing personel, but come on,that was ****

one sad factor of summer rugby is the lack of a long aussie tour and the intensity it brought, they hav`nt toured here since 2003 and even then it was only 3 matches
Report The real Moaner July 4, 2012 8:32 PM BST
Also have to say, I've not seen such a patriotic market before. The odds are so not reflecting the performances so far.

Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:56 PM BST
He's not quite so foul mouthed....

2 more tries for me please. All going quite nicely at the moment. That always worries me.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 8:57 PM BST
In league forward passes only exist in the middle of the field when they possibly, but not definitely, go about 2 inches forwards. That was out wide and led to a score so is irrelevant.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 9:00 PM BST
Has Thaler given a pen yet?

Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 9:03 PM BST
Lovely stuff Hodgson.

It's a great worry that England look clueless out wide while a patched together Exiles team at least know how to run an arc. Core skills etc etc.

At least we know that England are very good at wrestling players after they have tackled them. Been exceptional at that.

What rule is that?????

His foot is out, how can that ball not be out. I don't see how that benefits anyone.
Report grrrrrowl July 4, 2012 9:27 PM BST
that rule changes nothing for the attacking side and buggers up the defensive side... and pretty unfairly at that

The very best England have is still very good, but they are far too few. Burgess and Ellis have been massive hits over in Australia and Graham should join them. Nothing wrong with Tomkins and Roby, but after that you are already starting to scratch around.
