Report curious-cat • June 5, 2012 11:12 AM BST
It's really Australia winning by about 20 in these conditions against the wind.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:15 AM BST
playing real smart rugby, scots kicker shoulda gone for length there or a lineout deep & he goes up n under in his own 22.... not too bright really from the Scots, overcoached
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:16 AM BST
I don't know if they are coached at all. Every game I see Scotland I spend the entire game thinking 'why did they do that?'
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 11:17 AM BST
Whats the affective score in this game at the moment bearing in mind the huge wind advantage. Aussies winning by 20 plus points.
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:17 AM BST
Just a sheet of Aussies laying on top of every ruck.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:18 AM BST
overcoached as in not allowed to think for themselves, robotic almost. on a brighter note happy/surprised to be able to back aussie at sp, based on what we've seen a big....?
Report healingmylegalhealingmyheart • June 5, 2012 11:18 AM BST
the score is 3-6 not 26-6. hth Tongue Out
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 11:19 AM BST
think your the only person who thinks the affective score is 6-3
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:20 AM BST
Handicaps around 8 to 10 points. Coral were as low as -3 early on. Question is how difficult is it going to be for the Aussies to turn possession into points?
Report marky sparky • June 5, 2012 11:21 AM BST
With you paddletoe....market expecting wind to make Aus a shoo-in but their inexperienced side could get a bit jittery if no score early in this 2nd half.  Way too many variables in play here to even consider backing 1.16.
Report northanlite • June 5, 2012 11:21 AM BST
a great result for scots/aussie backers. almost impossible to see scotland winning this (or not losing by a dozen at least) unless the wind suddenly changed direction.
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 11:22 AM BST
i dont think scots will score the second half
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:24 AM BST
Aussie jus playing much smarter rugby & will get a few kickable pens for sure based on expected possession & territory, there mauling was far more effective than scots style as well so a try & 2-3 pens gives us 17/06 final score i'd guess at?
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:24 AM BST
I backed Scotland under 11.5pts and I neither want nor think they will score again.

Scots as usual had excellent chances and took stupid options time after time. I have no idea how Robinson keeps his job.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:26 AM BST
think Scots +14.5 is in danger tbh, its back to sp on here so dont think am far out. Scots under 11.5pts is home n hosed fellah Grin
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:28 AM BST
I backed Scots under 1.5 tries at 1/3 as well  - 3 munny Laugh

Bailed out of aussie lays though. Seen too many games where Scots get their chances and dont take them.
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 11:30 AM BST
This could be 90 plus percent territory advanatge for the aussies this half
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:31 AM BST
aye same ere RM re Scots, although got a few v.low lays set-up (for once) jus in case the hurricane stops Happy

not often you can be close to a gsm call at half time with your team behind but bookies very slow to react to this HUGE wind advanatage
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:33 AM BST
Bet of the day definitely Scot/Aus. I couldn't work out which way the wind was blowing quick enough.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:33 AM BST
brilliant kick! think thats the draw busted with more than 35mins to go
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:34 AM BST
A fly-half with a brain would be useful.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:38 AM BST
think the aussie comms jus before ko gave away which way the wind was blowing & who won the toss etc tbh Love
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:44 AM BST
Cant believe he's got Scots for sealing off and never did the Aussies for the same. Looked like a gold sheet at times first half.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:45 AM BST

Report northanlite • June 5, 2012 11:46 AM BST

Now, I always had you down as someone that was quite astute about their rugby, but betting on Scotland is scary stuff.
Report ppkingman • June 5, 2012 11:48 AM BST
cannot give that surely
Report northanlite • June 5, 2012 11:49 AM BST
the aussies are at it here, no way that could be given
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:49 AM BST
Got out for the same price though Road Hog. Massive wind, driving rain, the best chance Scots have got.

Same old same old in the end though. Mesmerising dull.

Picking up every Scottish hand, but missing every single Aussie one.
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 11:55 AM BST
Got to wonder how it was physically possible for Genia to get out of that mess without illegalities. I counted a man in from the side, two straight down and 1 clear hand dragging it back.

Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 11:58 AM BST
Scots as well at rucktime, ball is out called everytime they come around the o/s, ref's not giving anything, it's upto the scots to push the rules as much as aussie really
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 12:02 PM BST
Bugger me, could have got out for a profit if I had let the lays run Laugh
Report ppkingman • June 5, 2012 12:03 PM BST
Credit to Scotland for the defensive effort. I have no doubt that England would have folded in this second half.
Report furrelli • June 5, 2012 12:04 PM BST
this would be jus so typical of the scots.... Nahhhh still got 11/06 written in the sky this has 78mins
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 12:04 PM BST
Couple of bookies gave up betting on this game already.

Have the teams swapped shirts at half-time?
Report ppkingman • June 5, 2012 12:04 PM BST
clearly went back, no way a knock on
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 12:04 PM BST
Difference is England would have been well up through 2 penalty tries in the first half.......
Report northanlite • June 5, 2012 12:04 PM BST
it seemed like a matter of time until auusie scored a try but i guess we have to concede that conditions are pretty brutal out there even with the wind advantage.
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 12:07 PM BST
with scots not out of their half once this second half you would have expected at least three scored penalties

If they could make decisions in attack to the same quality with which they defend, they would be a top team.

Bad news for Australia with Wales coming. Going to be a whole different level facing the likes of Warburton etc.
Report RugbyMan • June 5, 2012 12:22 PM BST

Just watched the match and credit to the Scottish pack. Each one played the full 80 minutes which you don't often see but it was a good call as Vernon's no mud monkey like the starting back row. They all stood around shivering for most of the game so they shouldn't be tired anyway. 17 stone 4 of Visser next up?
Report ph. • June 5, 2012 7:46 PM BST
Aussies were clueless,it was Plan A over and over again against a Scottish defence that was chuffed to get stuck in and battle mano a mano without getting stretched or moved around the pitch.Only once did Barnes cross kick beyond the D for the wide men. Scotlands pack won't back down and are as aggressive and strong as them all bar probably South Africa.I had some of the +10 Scotland at half time so was happy but Australia were very disappointing. Same conditions Saturday and any start for Wales is pinching it.It wasn't a day for expansive rugby but anything bar pick, trundle and recycle had to be attempted. Can't recall any nasty grubbers or little chips over to turn the D around.Northern Hemisphere may not have the ball skills but we have the heart for a fight.
Report paddletoe • June 5, 2012 10:43 PM BST
Incredible performance by the Scots in the second half. Fully deserving victory.

Prior to the last three minutes it must have been something like 99% of the second half played inside the Scots half.

Still shell shocked how Aussies did not win in light of what was a near gale force wind behind them in the second half.
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE • June 6, 2012 9:47 AM BST
Congratulations Scotland!

I saw someone ask why the game was on a Tuesday night. Aust already had Wales scheduled to begin a three test tour starting this Saturday. The Scotland test was a late request that the ARU (unwisely) agreed to. It seems our administrators are as dumb as our players! Absolute madness.

Anyway, the better team won, hopefully they get a bit better weather for the rest of their tour.
