Saracens no8 qualifies for England in time for the Autumn Internationals, the guy will be 32 come the matches, surely not the way to build for the world cup to start picking 32 year olds that will be 35 at the time of the world cup. Another player not good enough for the Boks but good enough for England, not the way to build a challenge for the world cup.

Has he been selected for the squad?

No chance of being picked.

wonder if Dean Richards fancies dusting off his boots? How many 35year olds make any of the SH squads let alone teams in a WC? Forget the WC, how many get selected for Test rugby at that age?

Brad Thorn a notable exception

granted but he is the exception,he'd been in the midst of the pack for a dozen years and if NZ thought he deserved his place then indeed he did. Joubert is old enough to be completely overlooked,he isn't going to get faster or stronger is he.Quite like the new kid at 8,how good could he be with experience at top level. He reminds of Heaslip with his catching and full on rhino type charges, whether his body will stand up to it we'll have to see 'cos I think all the impact has caught up with Heaslip.

I suppose Matfield enters the equation as well but strictly speaking I was thinking of 8's as opposed to locks.
