Nah, it's alright, Lee Byrne has been dropped. Otherwise Charlie would be on for a hat trick.

wins against adversity will be good for this bunch of kids, beaten 2 very exp sides so far, credit where it's due, wd for holding out.

RM any excuse for the England haters
Lancaster gradually working out best team, good subs Youngs needs to get fit, or is he carrying an injury? Dowson very disappointing and will surely make way for Wood but Morgan is very good imo and has impressed unusual for Foden to have a sh*tter but best to have them when your team wins |
By:
England shamble to another drab victory - it's possible this could be the drabbest team ever to win a Grand Slam?
By:
Should have kicked for corner for one of the penalties to drive a lineout. Parrise was spent after 60 mins and happy to leave one of halfbacks kick for goal, if only they could
By:
Pretty average from England again Wales licking their lips,Youngs has lost it.
By:
Newsflash
Welsh Cyclops already beat the Scots & only need ingerland for the triple crown...... |
By:
Dowson's call up came a good 2 years too late and I'm not convinced he is really an 8 anyway. Looks like Morgan is going to be the 1st choice 8 by the end of the comp by default, but fitting Wood in is going to be difficult.
Youngs has gone to crap after 1 injury, a bit like Cipriani (although that was an horrendous one). Dickson has to replace him now and Care should find his way back in sooner or later. The 8,9,10 axis definitely the biggest let down, albeit in bad conditions so far. Not a lot wrong from the rest, bar a rare poor performance from Foden, and the defending has been impressive. |

the way Italy play they could easily spring a surprise in the matches to come ...
half decent pack ... backs who look for the interception and are keen to counter-attack. |
By:
I suppose in England's defence, they have won two games away from home.
By:
Exactly. Amazing how England are the only team that can play so badly when they win. Everybody else has great victories when they win away from home in the snow....
By:
The second coming are going to be about 1/2 shots up at HQ next round then.
By:
Poor game really, Italy threw it away with that charge down try and the stupid pen.
however as was said above england have won ugly in their two games so far, its a good habit to get into --winning and in fairness to them they never let their heads down and kept plugging away. |
By:
Barring 2 charge downs against England in the last 2 games I would have been so much better off(And if someone had told me before the start of the 6 nations that it would be Charlie that would cost me I would have laughed in there face
) |
By:
If the game is even on, I cant even find a chase bet on France V Ireland(just as well with my luck I suppose)

By:
Aye before having them sectioned

i got on the 3rd man SE at 36.0 & with conditions being as they are quite happy to see it ride into late teens 20mins in for a play

The skills on show, especially around the half-back area are still questionable, but England haven't played on a sensible pitch yet (although that may have helped them). The character of the players in defence has been excellent and has won them 2 games.
Probably going to take a fair bit more than just character from now on, but I also think we over-rate the performances of some teams in games that look good. Good attacking often goes hand in hand with poor defending. |
By:
Could be a good call Furrelli(you don't want me going on it with my luck other wise it has no chance
)Say the game was cancelled tonight then when would they replay it ? Lunch time tomorrow maybe ? (Cant see how they can do it otherwise) |
By:
RTE are saying definitely game on. Covers are off the pitch and it is now -6
By:
Would a stud go in at -6 ?
By:
Ar don't jinx it fellah, as for A-A game, guess depends if they ko or not, if no then would need to be around 13:00 or 17:00 GMT tomorrow so dont clash with Wales/Scots, if they've already played xx mins then ?? who knows
By:
On a pitch with no under soil heating ? (Fook playing on that pitch)
By:
pitch has had driers/covers on it for a few days & they say pitch was at 3 deg & is ok for top 4" or so
By:
that could soon change in -6 though and that is the warmest temp forecast
time to dig out a few rules and regs I reckon just in case ![]() |
By:
3 day rule i tink if yer worried about funds being tied up if p-p before ko, if during then......

All I see from England is the usual functional one dimensional boring Rugby...
You can blame the pitches but had they not have had two fortuitous knock down's by Hodgson then they would be looking at 2 awful defeats against the 2 worst sides in the 5N Unless they can play the remaining games in wind and rain I can see Wales,France and Ireland ripping them apart... Is the sum total of English ambition now to finish 3rd or 4th in the 5N by default... Absolutely NO sign of genuine penetration from the backs, precious little ball carrying ability just phase after phase after phase going NO-WHERE.... MEMO to Lancaster....watch the last 2 minutes of last weeks Ireland v Wales game....13 phases - simple but effective ball carrying to make ground DOWN THE PITCH....not across it! |
By:
True,ok so they have won both games but to me they look worse than in the WC.Foden, flat rack bully Aston and Youngs are MIA.
By:
Lost a wee bit on the outright but had a good touch on the H/C. Laying this English team made up of clueless clowns from the 3rd division of European rugby and managed by guy even worse than Johnson (if that were possible)is childs play.
A BIG thank you to the English Rugby Football Union. France, Ireland and Wales to come - lovely. Keep the good times rolling. |

yummy 07 Feb 12 12:10
The Italians kept possession well on Saturday and were surprisingly disciplined. Never looked like scoring a try despite racking up multi phases on numerous occasions. Can't see them scoring more than 15 pts England were very good defensibly on Saturday but showed precious little in attack. Will find it difficult to dominate the possession stakes and like Italy will struggle to score too many tries. My Play A low scoring encounter 28-34 points in total with Italy beating the handicap +16 comfortably and also a little bit of 7/2 on offer to win the game Sorry guys have too blow my own trumpet here |
