Afternoon lads.  Great to be back.  Interesting opener with both teams much changed from last season.  I just think that the fervour and excitement of returning to SL might carry Widnes through tonight.  Would be nice to get off to a good betting start as well !!!

Briscoe, Flynn and Watts missing for Widnes might explain a drift on their price. I'd be weary about backing any team with Ah Van in. Having said that I could say the same about Mathers with Wakey.

Who is going to get them any points out on the field though? That's a genuine question. Widnes look poor on paper and the man their season probably hangs on isnt in the 19.

I'm not saying that Wakey look world beaters though.

Ldee - that is a hell of a contest for biggest liability in superleague. Both can do good, but both can also be hopeless.

Best bet tonight is the 1-5 mins of 1st Wakey cry..." Bloody'ell Mathers!!"Blush

Agree RM Mathers is shocking in defence but he's ok going forward. Wakey have a couple of expirienced strike players in Aiton and Smith with a half decent 3/4 line. Only thing putting me of backing them is this new artificial pitch! God knows what thats going to do to the kicking game, something to focus on in running.

Can anyone confirm please whether it will be Ah Van kicking the 2-pointers for Widnes? Have a feeling Betts will be asking them to take whatever is on offer in a possible tight game.

If it's any use, he kicked in the friendly against Saints a couple of weeks ago.

Ah Van is first choice kicker with Craven, Haggerty and White as possible alternatives. Would have been confident of a Widnes win with Watts, Briscoe, Flynn and Davies in the side. Also Kite and Phelps yet to arrive.

wot shyte there banging on with about the pitch!

Players might get cramp?? wtf Laugh

Wrong cleats & watch them crash to the deck as they miss the cutbacks against the grain.

As for kicking, flat kick & the ball with keep rolling, so with the cold weather it'll be knock on season tonight

Fred is doing money back on certain markets if an Aussie scores last try tonight.

Anybody know of top of their head which Aussies are playing please?

good to see widnes back in the big time,it`s been far to long, the league would be ideal if the pointless london broncos were given the boot and halifax brought back, they`ve been playing for 30 years in london now and it`s still not taken offScared
i`ll be on the vikings tonight, home advantage and all that!

Draw looks a decent position to take at 30.  Will not drift higher than that in running in my opinion until somebody breaks the 2 score ahead barrier and every chance we are sub 20 before HT.
