The Weatherbys Super Sprint was first run in 1991, and it is presently restricted to 2yos which were sold or bought in as yearlings by public auction at "specified sales", or as 2yo up to and including March 1st, 2011, for £47,500 or less before July 1st, 2010, or for £50,500 or less after June 30th, 2010. The weights carried are determined by the sale price of the horses, with one pound deducted for every £3,000 the sales price is below £50,500. The minimum weight is 7st 12lb. Richard Hannon has trained 7 of the 19 winners of this race.
