We want to share an important update with our Betfair Community users.

Over the coming months, the Betfair Community platform will be winding down. The final active day for the platform will be December 21st. From December 22nd, users will no longer be able to access the platform.

Your discussions, insights, engagement, and, most importantly, feedback have helped shape the platform and guided innovation. Your feedback continues to be important to us, and we will continue to listen via our dedicated feedback channels, as well as through product testing and innovations.

Every job is going that way. It's just a matter of time. I suspect the NPCs on this forum have already been replaced by AI. Their responses normally look so programmed no one would ever know the difference.

Quite a few of these roles that are being lost are based in India in call centres.

It's not always easy for customers (especially older ones) to understand the call handlers at times and also those staff are often not able to satisfactorily answer the customers enquiry.

I remember in the early days of these call centres when i had a query about a Bond i had with Aviva, i thought i was calling York office , but a young Indian chap answered calling himself David (yeh right Laugh)  and i seemed to know more about the product than he did (not his fault), he ended up after 10 minutes transferring me to his colleague for assistance with my enquiry and he was based in ..... York Cry

Admiral Insurance and Legal and General also announced they are shedding jobs recently (1,500 between them). Not much good news out there on the jobs front Sad

I remember at the end of the 70s when i started work in the insurance game that there were at least a dozen companies with decent sized offices in Maidstone alone.
How times have changed, i think there are only 2 or 3 of those left now.
