VIVA LAS MALVINAS!

I can't blame Javier Miley for doing what he believes is best for his country. The British people are crying out for someone like that here. Still I am not going to be eating any further corned beef sandwiches until this has been resolved.

So a couple of magaloons have declared their anti-British pro-Argentinian views

Are reform UK supporters less anti-British pro-Argentinian than magaloons?
(is there any difference between the magaloons and reform supporters?)

I guess we're about to find out if reform supporters are anti-British.

Any reform UK supporters on here prepared to say the Falklands are British, Argentina should take a hike?

Falklands are british, but i would love the argies to send a few boats over just so our politicians get forced into a corner and finally fund our armed services.

Argentina cannot realistically take the Falkland Islands today due to significant military and logistical gaps.

British Defenses

• Permanent Garrison: The UK maintains a well-defended garrison at Mount Pleasant Airfield, which includes 1,300 to 1,700 personnel, four Typhoon multi-role fighters, an A400M transport aircraft, an offshore patrol vessel, and advanced Sky Sabre air defense systems.
• Projected Power: The Royal Navy can deploy a Carrier Strike Group featuring aircraft carriers like the HMS Queen Elizabeth or HMS Prince of Wales loaded with F-35B stealth fighters.

Argentine Limitations

• Naval and Air Shortages: Argentina lacks operational aircraft carriers, functioning submarines, and sufficient air-to-air refueling capabilities.
• F-16 Acquisition: While Argentina is procuring up to 24 F-16 fighters, only a small number are active, leaving them heavily outmatched by British Typhoons, ground-based radar, and integrated air defenses.
• Economic Constraints: Defense spending remains low (around 0.8% of GDP), meaning the country lacks the logistics and surface fleet needed to sustain a traditional amphibious invasion.
Public sentiment and military analysts, as discussed on platforms like Reddit and Facebook, widely view any direct conventional attempt as unfeasible and likely to fail rapidly.

Argentina had the highest GDP per capita in the world about 100 years ago.  I wouldn't be using it as a bell weather myself.

But it is a very good example of if you think things are bad, just wait and see how much worse they can get.

Looking like reform supporters on here are PRO Argentian and ANTI UK regarding the Falklands.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 16, 2026 8:23 PM BST
Falklands has got sheep and penguins, whereas Greenland holds massive mineral reserves so Trump's out.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 16, 2026 8:33 PM BST
Interesting fact.  The Falkland Islands has 143 sheep for every 1 person.  The country with the 2nd highest ratio is Mongolia at 6.8 sheep per person.

Perhaps the latest Argentinian President is especially fond of a nice lamb shank?

I think that Argentina hold the record for bail outs by the IMF. Basket case and their presidents rely on the Falklands as a rallying cry to distract the population from just how badly the place has been governed.

its never been a bellwether for anything other than the utter disaster that is a socialist economy
Report Ronaldmcdonald • October 20, 2026 10:44 AM BST
It was basket case until they elected smiley miley. Just the right chap.
