The UK is on a one way journey to oblivion, think its too late to stop the demise now. All previous governments (from Blair onwards) are complicit in this.

DEI, ESG, CRT, open borders, net zero, cancel culture, offensive language control, deplatforming, trans rights, the creation of oppressed classes, and more - the logical endpoint of all this is very obvious - the crippling of western economies. Probably why a lot of it is being pushed by China, but not so much in their own country. These ideas are aggressively suppressed in China because they know how damaging they are to the country.

Logical conclusion, lol.

Some people can work out the result of long term compound interest in a flash,
but long term compound birth rates are seemingly beyond their ken (lol).

You never hear the term "progressive" in UK politics so that tells me you have been on the internet too much.

Nicola Sturgeon gives her backing to a 'progressive alliance' at Westminster

From the National.

Typical SNP fan making a mug of himself.

OK fair do's I guess you do and i am incorrect. I am an old dog and these are new tricks.
I just don't remember that phrase being used much outside of the USA in my time.
It is a weird term as the opposite is obviously regressive. I would have thought progress
of some sort is the aim of any political movement?

The opposite in a political sense is small c conservatism. To conserve traditions that have worked for centuries. Or to be a dinosaur, depends on your outlook.
Report northanlite August 23, 2026 1:19 AM BST
A very good point. My Grandfather was a small c conservative. He didn't want anything to change ever.
He did have an expectation that a conservative government would allow his lineage to be able to
buy their own home and prosper in business ventures.
14 years of Tory rule made the above almost impossible.
