Think it goes like this;
The Royal Navy are in a big line in the middle of the Channel and are going to apprehend the boats.
After collecting the illegals they are then going to sail over to France to Plage D'or or wherever the illegals came from, they drop them off and sail off again waiting for the next lot.

Do the Reform lads on here think this is going to work and a terrific idea altogether?

I'm puzzled why a someone hasn't set up a go fund me to buy a boat and "rescue" these people when they first get into international waters, they will be closest to france and therefore should be taken to safety in the nearest country.

All those billionaires funding anti imigrant parties but not funding any action.
Report SirNorbertClarke August 3, 2026 8:28 PM BST
The Royal Navy can't enter French territorial waters without specific permission.
Report Escapee August 3, 2026 8:39 PM BST
Exactly, that's why it need's to be fronted by a "Humanitarian Charidy", which so concerned for the safety of the children and the potential "victims of human trafficing" onboard, that they board the boats as soon as they hit international waters.

The navy could be used to shoot anyone at the helm or resisting to the point they can be labelled a terrorist.
Report SirNorbertClarke August 3, 2026 8:47 PM BST
These small boats avoid international waters.

They go straight from French water in to British waters.

AI Overview
No single country owns the English Channel. It is an international body of water divided into British territorial waters, French territorial waters, and shared international waters under the law of the sea.
Report SirNorbertClarke August 3, 2026 9:00 PM BST
Yes but English and French territorial waters extend out to 12 miles so they overlap for most of the English channel.
Report saddo August 3, 2026 9:01 PM BST
If only people put as much effort into stopping em as they do finding reasons why we can't.
No wonder we are the number 1 destination, they know we are pathetic.
Report Cider August 3, 2026 9:03 PM BST
This is well well well worn.

Their tactic is to go through French waters, where the French are responsible for saving them. As soon as they get to neutral water, they turn their engines off and call the British authorities (aka mugs) to be saved. Even though they deliberately manufactured the danger.

There is untold footage of the French trailing the gravy boats until they get to neutral waters, and claim they are in 'distress'.
Report Cider August 3, 2026 9:07 PM BST
quite palpably a systematic cooperation of stakeholders, the French, tour operators, border farce, rnli, ngos all working on the same one way excursion on the gravy boats.
Report Cider August 3, 2026 9:12 PM BST
Obviously it is very easy to get drones to cover the area. Any gravy boat floating from France, deliberately endangering themselves should be denied assistance from us, and French expected to take care of their own shyte.

If I was Burnhan I'd put Farage in charge of the problem from tomorrow morning and leave him to it.

No government wants to stop the boats , a steady supply of young cheap labour .
Report Escapee August 3, 2026 9:24 PM BST
Uk has spent £100's and £1,000's of £millions on ineffective methods of stopping the boats, sealing the border we are fully entitled to seal and are not sealing.

About time someone spent just a couple of million on an effective method.
Report Cider August 3, 2026 9:26 PM BST
It's pretty easy actually. To stop the gravy boats, stop the gravy.
Report Cider August 3, 2026 9:29 PM BST
Who goes to a soup kitchen if there is no soup. A food bank if there's no food? The only reason why they traverse europe for 1000s of miles to get to us is that we make it well worth their while.

It's just another HS2 like scam on the british public, write blank cheques to a load of rich people for what?

French insist plan to use Navy to tow back small boats is illegal
Report lapsy pa August 4, 2026 9:20 AM BST
Indeed, can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and the French navy turning up en masse outside Dover and saying we are just dropping these lads off and bon chance?
I honestly thought this was a joke, their 'big plan' are simplistic childlike notions and it's only purpose seems to be a big look over there from 'what was all that money for Nige?'
Report Cider August 4, 2026 9:31 AM BST
Can you imagine if people were fleeing Britain to France. And the French picked them up halfway, clothed them, gave them Dominos pizza, gave them 4* hotel rooms, a cleaner, 3 meals+ a day, in house doctor and a funded credit card? And they are virtually certain to go on to benefits permanently.

No, me neither.
Report Cider August 4, 2026 9:32 AM BST
Do the French say that allowing people to float off from their beaches without rescuing is illegal?

Thought not.
Report raspberrybottom August 4, 2026 9:46 AM BST
For the next three years the UK will pay France over £600 million to strengthen their border controls and to "fund" new tactics.

Stop paying them this ridiculous amount of money and use it for something more constructive. That would be a start.

Some of the Reform ideas are just naive.
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 2:01 PM BST
Best policy for reform in fairness their supporters are not the brightest. Let’s be honest their MO is to attract vile individuals and thick dunces, so give the audience what they want and they will vote for you. Remember the farage Brexit bus, once you are in power “ we can’t actually do that these leftist are stopping us.”
The thick dunces will swallow that because they don’t want to admit they were conned.
Report DixieDean60 August 4, 2026 2:11 PM BST
A Gold Medal for stereotyping there.  I wonder what your reaction would be if we described the Irish as vile and thick ?
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 2:17 PM BST
Starmer was the same, now I don’t bother much with news nowadays, I did watch it for a while, and every time I heard him speak “ I will smash the gangs at source” then 6 months later I never heard him say that again, was he naive or just lying ? Who knows? But he certainly wasn’t capable of doing it, and in principle seemed a good idea, target root cause.
Report Cider August 4, 2026 2:22 PM BST
MALAY is a British hater so for him seeing other feeble Brits excitedly waving the illegals into the country and showering them with gifts makes him feel like a pig in shyte.
Report lapsy pa August 4, 2026 2:38 PM BST
Ah lads, you have to admit it is a daft 'plan'.
Report Cider August 4, 2026 2:41 PM BST
The only thing daft is those believing that the existing government (or the French Happy ) want to do anything to stop the invaders, and do everything to encourage them.
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 3:07 PM BST
No reaction from myself Dixie you are entitled to you’re opinion and for avoidance of doubt I never said all English were vile and or thick.
Report DixieDean60 August 4, 2026 3:16 PM BST
You stereotyped a fair chunk of the UK electorate though (approx 25% according to the polls).

It's easy to pontificate from a one horse town on the other side of the Irish Sea where you remain unaffected by the problems we have to put up with here.
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 3:23 PM BST
If the cap fits wear it, hopefully the polls are incorrect  for England’s sake.
I’m going to England next week to see some old pals, politics won’t be discussed it will be upcoming league season, it comes around quickly.
Report lapsy pa August 4, 2026 3:27 PM BST
Not really true Dixie and i'll tell you why.
Thousands of illegals rock up to Dublins IPO office, they didn't come by boat or plane but through the North.
How should Ireland protect itself from all these illegal arrivals coming from the UK?
Report Stringvest August 4, 2026 3:28 PM BST
Illegal migrants welcome but not where bog eyed mick malay lives Wink
Report DixieDean60 August 4, 2026 3:33 PM BST
Lapsy, ask Malay how many illegals have rocked up in his sleepy outpost.

It's the same for people over here who live in areas where they haven't got them. "What's the problem " they cry.
One day they will all find out and they ain't gonna like it.
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 4:21 PM BST
I never said illegal migrants were not welcome here, it’s obviously not an attractive location for them.
Report Stringvest August 4, 2026 4:37 PM BST
yep and that suits you fine Cool
Report MALAY August 4, 2026 6:34 PM BST
Everything suits me fine where I live so why I chose to move here.
Now I don’t know enough about this to offer an informed opinion but my suggestion would be you are a criminal because you entered the country illegally, you are getting detained in secure unit, you will basic food, hygiene, no money, no phones, till we can organise getting you to F were you came from.
If you are a genuine asylum seeker there is the form make the application but I’d advise you to make application to France first and if you don’t do that we would ask question on alternatives and if they did knock you back, then we probably would do also, with discussions with France.
As I have said I don’t know enough about it and my process solution maybe over simplified

This plan was dubbed 'Operation Fortress' and the document featured a Royal Navy warship called the HMS Ocean.
All well and good except the HMS Ocean was sold to Brazil in 2018.

This is what you are dealing with.
