We already have a biometric ID card - it's called a UK passport.

And we already have a digital ID capability based on your UK passport in Google wallet.

When Trump eventually demands foreigners visiting America have Digital ID we will all meekly comply.

USA already have their own area in Dublin airport for travelling there it appeared to be quite strict plenty questions asked. I would guess they have similar in other European countries.
