The Central England Temperature (CET) dataset has maintained uninterrupted records since well before 1700, making it the longest-running instrumental temperature series in the world. The dataset tracks a triangular region enclosed by London, Lancashire, and Bristol

.Analyzing the historical trends from 1700 to the present reveals several key insights:Significant Warming Trend1.3°C Increase:

The overall mean temperature has risen by approximately 1.3°C between the end of the 17th century and the 21st century.

Unprecedented Recent Warming: While the dataset shows natural cycles of cooler and warmer spells over the centuries, the warming observed since the late 20th century is entirely unprecedented.Modern Extremes:

Nine out of the ten warmest years in the entire 360+ year history have occurred since 1990. The top five warmest years have all taken place since 2006.

The Last Top-Ten Cold Year: The last time a year was cold enough to enter the historical top-ten coldest list was 1879, during the reign of Queen Victoria.

It stayed in france and did not move north as the monte carlo modelling had favoured.

It's direction has changed from Northerly to a more Easterly track and it's worst of it is going to hit central Europe instead of UK over the next 2 days.

Isn't science wonderful.

To be fair, scientific advances may do harm. All these drugs and treatments now meaning heart disease, diabetes and even cancer can be managed or even cured.

UK life expectancy has risen nearly ten years since the summer of 76. All those elderly infirm people who would normally be dropping off quite quickly are now sticking around for decades, filling up homes and costing the country billions in care.
