80 years of common defence, gone in 9 months. Europe's reaction to Trump's US security strategy document & speech did not pan out as he expected. The new Joint European Defence Initiative, sees £2 Trillion defence money spent over the next decade on EU systems and EU R&D. NATO's interoperability agreements propped up US armament manufactures for 7 decades. All their projected earning for the near future were based on that £2Trillion going to them. Trump loudly, theatrically, notionally threated to walk away from NATO as a negotiation tactic. Europe was obviously planning for this moment and quietly said, oh well, lets spend the money on ourselves. |

If Trump, and thus the U.S.A. fail to back up N.A.T.O. when Putin attacks a member country, and that is a real possibility the way he is behaving at present, that will pose a threat to all Members. Surely you see that?
