Playing the man yet again i see YHTL......

Malay - i'm not the greatest fan of Monday night football, maybe because the Toffees record is not great in those fixtures in recent years !

Until recently our record at Elland Road was hopeless, when Wayne Rooney scored the winner there in 2003 in was our first league win there since 1952 Surprised
So a draw would be a decent start to the season i think as a couple of defenders are likely to be missing, Branthwaite definitely out and Patterson and Mykolenko doubtful. Also the new signings such as Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall will need time to settle in. Leeds will be well up for it which really goes without saying. Sunderlands result today being a case in point, not easy playing these newly promoted sides away first up.

Not me, you are just flopping around playing the man, but
making it up, then, called out back to projection.

It's really funny...

Dixie you have similar assessment to myself on the Monday match but Moyes is a shrewd manager. Personally I think Leeds will have enough and be disappointed not to take 3 points, but we will see what happens.

Dixie,

First we are generally getting information from the Daily Fail. Secondly the Landlord has the right to refuse to serve. Pretty sure he doesn’t have to give a reason but if he gives the reason or at worst make one up that has grounds like affecting goodwill of my regular customers. If staff on zero hours contracts and minimum wage do not want to work any particular day then that is their business.

Not really sure why people are getting their knickers in a twist over this after the way Vance ambushed Zelensky. I also think he has more food options than the children of Gaza so if mainly young people do not want  to serve a collaborator of Terrorist’s, deliberate starvation of children and Genocide and their boss accepts their decision shirley it is up to them?

OMG, you are Dr Crippen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all there.

Assuming the name of some character/other person like Dr Crippen/Jack Dawkins.

Yesterday in the Dr Crippen thread hinting that he is possibly back (you should not even know him)

DixieDean60 • August 16, 2025 9:55 PM BST
Is he back already though and how would you know ?

and now...

There you go again, playing the man instead of the ball.

I can't believe we are finally re-united, my love! ExcitedExcitedExcitedExcitedLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLoveLove

Why did you never say anything though?

And name choice obviously inspired by something a forumite once wrote

Angel Gabrial • April 25, 2013 11:55 PM BST
Tenants i believe currently have a choice

a) HB payment goes straight to the Landlord
b) The tenant receives the HB

Generally the HB does not cover the entire cost of the rent and the extra will come from the JSA payment for example. The Universal payment will be an all in one payment directly to the tenant. So if Crippen has any addicts in his rooms then he will have to whistle Dixie.

I don't really care if he really is Crippen if I can imagine he is my lost love and if he pretends to be Crippen for me.

I am not sure that edy has a future career as a prosecution lawyer if the full extent of his proof that i am the errant Dr C is limited to a couple of oblique references.

Alas the teutonic homoerotic pining for the good doctor looks set to continue, sorry edy.

In case you are not a football historian edy, Dixie Dean was a legendary centre forward for Everton in the 1920s and 30s who set a record that will almost certainly never be beaten in England, scoring 60 league goals in the 1927/28 season. The great man's picture is shown on my profile.

WD, there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding as to how the law applies regarding refusal of service, here is a leading solicitors summation :

The right to refuse service
UK law states that you can refuse service to a customer or client so long as you have a legitimate reason. This reason has to be applied fairly and consistently across the board.

This is to avoid cases where service is refused because the business just doesn’t like the look of somebody, or because they have a protected characteristic like gender, sexuality or race.

Common reasons to refuse service include aggressive behaviour, intoxication, threats to the safety of staff or customers, and non-compliance with a dress code.

From a legal point of view, the most important thing to note is that these are all legitimate reasons so long as the business has made its expectations clear.

A nightclub, for instance, can operate a “no jeans” policy – but it has to be across the board. If you make an exception for one denim-wearer, you could be accused of unfair refusal.

Similarly, the coffee stall in Norwich that made the news in 2012 for refusing to serve people who were on their phones was well within its rights. But if it had made an exception it could hypothetically have been accused of discrimination.
Clear expectations, then, are paramount – and so is the need to keep a record of incidents.

One simply develops certain traits if the rest of life is downtrodden due to Russian oppression. You don't become an ever gloomist gloomer like some posh and pampered boomers on here in their efforts to be miserable.

Interesting. The reader would like to believe that is was early adoption of the internet that released you. Feel free to add more, edy.
