If you can’t get Virgin Media at your new home, you’ll need to get in touch to cancel your services. Let us know your new address and moving date, and we’ll make sure your old home is disconnected in time for your move.

If you’re cancelling within contract, and as you’re unable to take your services with you, we’ll waive any early disconnection fees. All you’ll need to do is provide proof of your new address within 30-days of cancelling – such as a copy of your mortgage information, rental agreement, insurance policy, utility bill, bank statement or driving license. We’ll let you know where to send these when you chat to us to cancel your services.

A friend is in the same predicament. She and her daughter - both registered disabled - hence the impending move from a 1st floor social housing flat with 4 flights of stairs to a new build with a lift. However, her present 4-month old (contract 24 months) broadband supplier Community Fibre does not provide broadband to this new build. The early disconnection fee is 50% of the remaining contract ie (20 months x £26) x 50% = £260. A decision is pending on the disconnection in the next couple of days.

She's very happy with Community Fibre. However, she's been given this new flat with a lift. The communal broadband built-in is BT Openreach) to mitigate and facilitate their disability. Both have EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), a disease of the connective tissue.
