The Wagner group chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin, whose forces for months led an assault for towns in eastern Ukraine including Bakhmut, repeated his accusations that the Russian defence ministry was losing territory to Ukrainian troops.

The US has announced it is complying with a Ukrainian request to supply it with controversial cluster munitions.

Russian shelling in Ukraine has killed three people and injured four after the capital came under attack for the third successive night, Ukrainian officials say.
An 85-year-old woman was killed when Russian forces shelled the village of Mykilske in the southern region of Kherson, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said. A man in his 40s was killed in shelling of the town of Orikhiv in the southern Zaporizhia region, Governor Yuriy Malashko said. The third person killed was a 60-year-old resident of the village of Popivka in the northern region of Sumy, the prosecutor general’s office said. Enough dead yet? |
