Exactly there are so many non jobs in this country
Actually I’m not against giving nurses and careers a pay rise But others are paid too much and some shouldn’t be paid at all and their non jobs scrapped |
|
By:
They used to say ‘if you are prepared to work hard you will be ok’
You never hear it anymore because it’s fallen flat on its face and the cat is out the bag. Ofc there are very rich individuals who work hard milking for all its worth their angle, but by far the greatest amount of work (effort) is amalgamated by the low paid collective. If you summed the amount of total effort to pay ratio it comes out as a major lie, because capital rewards capital far greater than effort. |

‘Work hard and great treat like a mug’ should be the new saying.

If people work hard then they will be fine in this country
actually even if they don’t work at all they will be fine |

What an awful state of affairs brought about by the UK government.
Couple of years ago all out clapping the nurses and doctors every night.....for working hard during COVID ....and now wont give them a pay rise ? How stupid does the UK look ? |
|
By:
The very effect of the cost of living crisis was apparent well before Ukraine.
As I’ve pointed out before The Roundtree Foundation showed where the problem is and that is more and more money in fewer people’s pockets, meaning a greater proportion with absolutely nothing. Because the equation doesn’t reward work at all, ROI returns on capital far greater than elbow grease. |

Benefits for families are so generous, that it's better for most to raise a family on benefits, than for them to go out to work.
That's been the case for several decades. But it's better now than its ever been. |

Giving more money to people for not working ?
How stupid does the UK look ? |
|
By:
Working hard and working efficiently are not the same thing - they are poles apart in many cases.
People who are better off have not made their money off the backs of the less well off - complete fallacy. |

This case more than any shows how work is devalued.
It’s the very people who’s action of strike threatens lives that are struggling to cope that is recognised conversely by trawling the globe for people to do that work based on them having even worse economies/conditions. If that isn’t the epitome of ‘race to the bottom’ I don’t know what is. |

Nurses should be ashamed of themselves, for allowing the far-left to infiltrate their union and talk them into going out on strike.
People are going to die over the self interests of medical staff. Is this what they went into nursing for? |

Unions can only call strikes if the members vote for them.
The attempts by the government to blame industrial action on Union Barons is failing miserably as they will find out at the ballot box. |

Nurses should be ashamed of themselves, We should be ashamed of ourselves that nurses have been treated so badly by our politicians that they are broken enough to go on strike. Shame on us! |

That link above from the sot.
Note this comment below the chart. ''Perhaps you would care to take the starting point for comparison back to 2007 so it includes the absolute hammering private sector workers got due to the financial crash. Or perhaps all the way back to 2000: the 'bonus' for working in the public sector widened for over a decade; only now, 22 years later, back to where it was in 2000. Maybe include ALL public sector workers too in the comparison. Pick your starting point and you can come to any conclusion you want - as someone once said, 'there are lies, there are damn lies, and then there's statistics!'' |

The tories are just dragging it out, they will eventually offer them 9-10% at least it's the old tory tactics wreck the economy deliberately then when inflation has to come down the real thickos fall for it,will be the same with the nurses strike..In real ters they've lost 20% in the last 10 years, tories offer them the laughable 4.3% then when they off 9-10% the thickies will think that'a very fair offer, such an uneducated country they fall for any old sh1t..

Tory Britain
Nurses told to take another pay cut. Then there are the bosses of the privatised water companies: The annual bonuses paid to water company executives rose by 20% in 2021, despite most of the firms failing to meet sewage pollution targets. Figures show on average executives received £100,000 in one-off payments on top of their salaries, during a period in which foul water was being pumped for 2.7m hours into England’s rivers and swimming spots. |
|
By:
So it’s clear
Nice chief executive bosses of the water companies set up by the Tories to enrich their friends and rob the public get eye watering pay rises at our expense. Then the nurses who saved thousands of lives through sheer dedication and caring during the pandemic are told to take another pay cut. The NHS has been deliberately wrecked by the evil Tories who tell nurses to get lost and use foodbanks, whilst the Tories themselves of course are lining their own pockets. One rule for the plebs. No rules for the Hooray Henries with a sense of entitlement. Sickening hypocrisy. |
|
By:
Nurses pay increased in real terms for band 5 starting salary
increased by 6.7% between 2017/18 and 2020/21 You don’t allocate pay increases based on what hopefully should be abnormally high and short lived inflation . The prediction is perhaps early next year or a bit later . ( and no inflation rises are not built in ) |
|
By:
For public sector workers the government has to look at
the nominal interest rate that is good for the economy about 2-3 % , whatever . And pay rises in should be in line with that . The private sector any pay rises are a matter for the company and employees to determine |
|
By:
The private sector any pay rises are a matter for the
company and employees to determine Utter and complete tosh, the depth of your ignorance is startling. The amount of money nicked by the privatised water companies is well within the power of government to regulate. It’s not an option for people to choose water company. They are stuckj with them and have to pay directly for the scandalous pay bonuses of the chief officers, most of whom are beholden to the sleazy and corrupt Hooray Henries with a sense of entitlement. |
|
By:
You don’t allocate pay increases based on what hopefully should
be abnormally high and short lived inflation Well the stinking lay corrupt and sleazy Hooray Henries have certainly chosen to give nurses, teachers, child protection staff and others over a decade of pay cuts under the rate of inflation whilst taking literally billions of pounds out of everyone’s pockets to give bungs to bankers, chief officers of water companies and all the Tory chums. During Covid, the Tories even managed to give Handcock’s barman millions on useless contracts. Now they have given another Tory chum a nice fat bung for disposing of the PPE equipment that was useless. How can you defend this appalling theft from the pub,ifc whilst the nurses are queueing at foodbanks? |
|
By:
CoT I’m talking about the economy and that is why public
sector pay must reflect the aims and goals there in If it doesn’t then the country gets into deep trouble Private companies pay and bonuses etc are a matter for them By the way I agree that utility companies there is an argument to nationalise them , and also the railways Oh and by the way when they are give them a 2- 3% pay rise , about that |
|
By:
You have to understand when you work
in the public sector your pay is governed by the economy And things are not good right now |
|
By:
Nurses ? They’ve had their heads turned by going to college and uni
They also become lazy or probably are more inclined to be anyway It means we are getting the wrong people in the profession Any young woman ( preferably not men ) who wish to follow that career should leave school at 16 and then into work and an apprentice ship one day a week for day release at college . That is how they learn their skills and profession |
|
By:
It's a shame the nurses are being used by people like CoT, to vent their hate on society.
They deserve better than to have fallen into the clutches of the left. Nevertheless it's clear the public sector is far too big and needs pruning back. Neither Labour or the Tories seen to have the stomach to do it. So the first step would be to instal a proper right-wing government, only then could the much needed reform of the public sector start in earnest. |
