mark meadows going for the "I'm stupider than trump" prize, with a complete inability to understand risk management.

Meadows also downplayed whether Trump put Secret Service agents at risk during his drive-by greeting to supporters outside of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
"They're criticizing, 'Well, he put his Secret Service agent at risk,'" Meadows said. "Well, the Secret Service agent, how do we think that he got here?

It’s about half way down:

https://www.politifact.com/article/2019/apr/26/context-trumps-very-fine-people-both-sides-remarks/

Transcript includes quite a bit of stuff around the fine people on both sides.

I’m not sure I’d call that Trump’s worst moment but it’s certainly pretty bad.

And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.

"Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group."

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced Monday that she tested positive for coronavirus.

Why it matters: She is the latest member of President Trump's inner circle to be diagnosed with the illness over the last few days.

Turns out PP probably meant a different far right group Trump seemed keen on.

The thing is, that while Trump’s arguments are superficially okay, the groups that were there in Charlottesville “protecting the monument” were all far right groups. You don’t really get very many people coming out to protect statues of confederate generals who aren’t far right.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said Monday that he would follow medical experts' advice when asked whether it was safe to take part in next week's scheduled debate as President Trump undergoes treatment for COVID-19.

I would imagine that the "experts" are going to say "lol no, don't go anywhere near any Goptard, they are totally covidrank"

Hard to say for sure. Mostly I suspect that they feel they ought to do things and these are things, so they will do them. The evidence for the polyclonal antibodies is pretty sketchy, although does suggest some possible benefit. Remdesivir is similar, with some trials (especially those run by the drug company) quite positive, others equivocal at best. My interpretation of the steroid trials is that dexamethasone treatment was only indicated if they’ve been lying to us about how unwell he is, which seems unlikely given that he was well enough to have a drive round off oxygen trying hard to give Covid to the secret service agents. If anything, I suspect steroids were more likely to harm him than help, but the evidence is hard to parse for somewhat but not very unwell people. They’re very good for critically unwell, probably somewhat good for moderately unwell.

I’ve got quite a lot to say about psychological and financial incentives to give treatment without proven benefits, if you want to get me started. These often apply even if the patient isn’t the US President. If there’s one thing about the NHS I’d hold up as an exemplar of high quality care (and I’m very pro the NHS in all sorts of respects, despite its flaws), it’s the removal of a whole raft of these perverse incentives and a genuine attempt to use evidence to guide rational decision making. NICE is an internationally envied institution.

Spot on timbuctooth. When you think of past US presidents and what they did......Clinton executing Ricky Ray Rector to get more votes, Nixon committing war crimes with his stooge Kissinger, Bush lying about WMDs and killing thousands of innocents, Obama/Hillary taking a big dump on Syria/Lybia etc....

Fair. We’re still very good at science in all sorts of areas, beyond health as well as within it. The NHS is still a good thing, even in its cash starved and Tory damaged state. There are some cultural icons around we can be proud of. Our cricket team is quite fun.

he never stated the protestors with guns were good people. He stated all the protestors, many of whom had no guns were good people and I see no reason as to why he is wrong.
The Michigan Supreme Court agreed with them on Friday

I will also state Michigan is an open carry state. If its so disgusting for protestors to carry guns maybe the Democratic Governor can discuss some law changes with her state government
