The Arizona Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the state Senate's bid to keep records from Cyber Ninjas and other contractors working on the election audit out of public view.

After the decision was announced, Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, said she was preparing to comply with an order from a lower court to release the documents.

The Senate had refused to turn over records from the audit that are in the possession of its contractor, Cyber Ninjas, and other subcontractors, even after two Maricopa County Superior Court judges in separate cases and the Appeals Court all ruled they are public documents.

4:35 p.m. Sept. 16: Election official seeks inquiry after voter data posted online
Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer is asking Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich to investigate after voter registration records were posted online.

Voter registration records known as the “voter file” are available to the public, but it's a felony to publish the information on the internet. The voter file includes the name, address and party affiliation of registered voters, along with some phone numbers. It shows whether the person has voted in recent elections but not the candidates and issues they supported.

“It appears that in this case, information from a public records request may have been posted in violation of state law,” Richer said in a statement Thursday. "I trust the Attorney General will look into this and take any necessary action.”

Logan's smiling face was captured among Rogers' photos just hours after his lawyer told the Arizona Court of Appeals there was no way Cyber Ninjas could comply with a court order to produce emails, texts and other communications from the audit by Friday. Logan was just too busy, his lawyer said.

Jan. 6 rioter who carried spear, wore horns, draws 41 months

Jacob Chansley, the spear-carrying Jan. 6 rioter whose horned fur hat, bare chest and face paint made him one of the more recognizable figures in the assault on the Capitol, was sentenced Wednesday to 41 months in prison.

Chansley, who pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding, was among the first rioters to enter the building. He has acknowledged using a bullhorn to rile up the mob, offering thanks in a prayer while in the Senate for having the chance to get rid of traitors and scratching out a threatening note to Vice President Mike Pence saying, “It’s Only A Matter of Time. Justice Is Coming!”

Though he isn’t accused of violence, prosecutors say Chansley, of Arizona, was the “public face of the Capitol riot” who went into the attack with a weapon, ignored repeated police orders to leave the building and gloated about his actions in the days immediately after the attack.

Before he was sentenced, Chansley told U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth it was wrong for him to enter the Capitol and that he accepts responsibility for his actions. He emphasized he wasn’t an insurrectionist and is troubled with the way he was portrayed in news stories in the aftermath of the riot.

“I have no excuse,” Chansley said. “No excuses whatsoever. My behavior is indefensible.”

Trump backers wormed their way into an Italian prison seeking proof the election was stolen: report

According to a report from the Daily Beast, two backers of Donald Trump "gained illicit access" to two hackers being held in an Italian prison in an effort to collect evidence that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

In a report from Barbie Latza Nadeau, she states that reports on the access to the two prisoners set off alarm bells at the State Department which launched an investigation.

The report notes an earlier report on a conspiracy rumor in QAnon circles that the hackers "somehow hijacked a satellite in order to change the results being counted on American voting machines."

A former top Trump official is now cooperating with the congressional 6 January riot investigation, after months of tension over whether he would honour the inquiry’s requests for information.

Former Trump administration chief of staff Mark Meadows, who was in contact with the organisers of rallies that occurred the day of the attack on the Capitol, has been providing records to the House select committee investigating the riot, and will appear for an initial interview, CNN reports.

"Mr Meadows has been engaging with the Select Committee through his attorney," Mississippi’s Bennie Thompson, who chairs the committee, said in a statement. "He has produced records to the committee and will soon appear for an initial deposition.

“The Committee will continue to assess his degree of compliance with our subpoena after the deposition,” he added.

Trump campaign demonized two Georgia election workers – and death threats followed

As Donald Trump’s campaign sought to overturn his shocking loss of the state of Georgia in the 2020 presidential election, it hatched a conspiracy theory.

At its center were two masterminds: a clerical worker in a county election office, and her mom, who had taken a temporary job to help count ballots. The alleged plot: Wandrea “Shaye” Moss and mother Ruby Freeman cheated Trump by pulling fake ballots from suitcases hidden under tables at a ballot-counting center. In early December, the campaign began raining down allegations on the two Black women.

Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, falsely claimed that video footage showed the women engaging in “surreptitious illegal activity” and acting suspiciously, like drug dealers “passing out dope.” In early January, Trump himself singled out Freeman, by name, 18 times in a now-famous call in which he pressed Georgia officials to alter the state’s results. He called the 62-year-old temp worker a “professional vote scammer,” a “hustler” and a “known political operative” who “stuffed the ballot boxes.”

Freeman made a series of 911 emergency calls in the days after she was publicly identified in early December by the president’s camp. In a Dec. 4 call, she told the dispatcher she’d gotten a flood of “threats and phone calls and racial slurs,” adding: “It’s scary because they’re saying stuff like, ‘We’re coming to get you. We are coming to get you.’”

Two days later, a panicked Freeman called 911 again, after hearing loud banging on her door just before 10 p.m. Strangers had come the night before, too. She begged the dispatcher for assistance. “Lord Jesus, where’s the police?” she asked, according to the recording, obtained by Reuters in a records request. “I don’t know who keeps coming to my door.”

“Please help me.”

Trump calls himself very stupid and corrupt

A sputtering Donald Trump, furious about what he baselessly claims was presidential election fraud, ended up including himself among the “very stupid” — or “very corrupt” — in the mangled syntax of a message he shared Saturday.

Trump used a double negative in a sentence posted by his paid aide Liz Harrington on her Twitter account, twisting the message into something likely the opposite of what he intended to say.

“Anybody that doesn’t think there wasn’t massive Election Fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election is either very stupid, or very corrupt!” his message read.

Trump is someone who does not believe there was no massive election fraud, making him “either very stupid, or very corrupt,” according to his own message. He likely intended to refer to people who don’t believe there was massive election fraud.

Twitter critics loved it.

Appeals Court Rejects Trump’s Bid to Shield Material From Jan. 6 Inquiry

Dec. 9, 2021
WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday that Congress is entitled to see White House records related to the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, rejecting former President Donald J. Trump’s claim that he still has the power to keep the material secret.

In a 68-page ruling, a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia held that Congress’s oversight powers, backed by President Biden’s decision not to invoke executive privilege over the material, outweighed Mr. Trump’s residual secrecy powers.

Jan. 6 panel subpoenas six who helped plan Trump rallies

WASHINGTON (AP) - The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection is subpoenaing six more people who the panel says were involved in the organization and planning of rallies that aimed to overturn Donald Trump's defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

The committee chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said some worked to stage the events and "some appeared to have had direct communication" with then-President Trump as they were planning.

The subpoenas were issued to Robert "Bobby" Peede Jr. and Max Miller, who the committee says met with Trump in his private dining room on Jan. 4; Brian Jack, Trump's political director at the time; and rally organizers Bryan Lewis, Ed Martin and Kimberly Fletcher.

The rallies before and during the Jan. 6 riot are a major focus of the committee's investigation. Committee members have said they want to know who financed the events and whether organizers were in close touch with the White House and members of Congress as they planned the events.

At the largest Jan. 6 rally, on the Ellipse near the White House, Trump riled up the crowd and told them to "fight like hell." He said he would march to the Capitol with them, but he eventually returned to the White House.

Republicans resist saying 3 simple words: ‘Joe Biden won’

They are just three little words, but they have become nearly impossible for many Republicans to say: “Joe Biden won.”

Eleven months after the Democrat’s inauguration, Republican lawmakers and candidates across the country are squirming and stumbling rather than acknowledging the fact of Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election. In debates and interviews, they offer circular statements or vague answers when asked whether they believe Biden won.

Yes or no?

In Minnesota this week, five GOP candidates for governor came up with 1,400 other words when asked by conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt for an answer.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, GOP Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas would only concede: “Joe Biden was sworn into office.”

The hazy statements are one measure of election denialism within the Republican Party. Former President Donald Trump’s lies about a stolen election have so taken hold among GOP voters that many of the party’s candidates either believe them or fear the political repercussions of refuting Trump. That sets up a surreal dynamic for next year’s elections, where the toughest question posed to GOP candidates — particularly in primaries — may be one with a one-word answer that they’re reluctant to give.

First part of Texas’ 2020 election audit reveals few issues, echoes findings from review processes already in place

The Texas secretary of state’s office has released the first batch of results from its review into the 2020 general election, finding few issues despite repeated, unsubstantiated claims by GOP leaders casting doubts on the integrity of the electoral system.

The first phase of the review, released New Year’s Eve, highlighted election data from four counties — Harris, Dallas, Tarrant and Collin — that showed few discrepancies between electronic and hand counts of ballots in a sample of voting precincts. Those partial manual counts made up a significant portion of the results produced by the secretary of state, which largely focused on routine voter roll maintenance and post-election processes that were already in place before the state launched what it has labeled as a “full forensic audit.”

Trump Said to Have Reacted Approvingly to Jan. 6 Chants About Hanging Pence
The House committee investigating the Capitol assault has heard accounts of the former president’s remarks as he watched the riot unfold on television.
Shortly after hundreds of rioters at the Capitol started chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” on Jan. 6, 2021, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, left the dining room off the Oval Office, walked into his own office and told colleagues that President Donald J. Trump was complaining that the vice president was being whisked to safety.

Mr. Meadows, according to an account provided to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, then told the colleagues that Mr. Trump had said something to the effect of, maybe Mr. Pence should be hung.

It is not clear what tone Mr. Trump was said to have used. But the reported remark was further evidence of how extreme the rupture between the president and his vice president had become, and of how Mr. Trump not only failed to take action to call off the rioters but appeared to identify with their sentiments about Mr. Pence — whom he had unsuccessfully pressured to block certification of the Electoral College results that day — as a reflection of his own frustration at being unable to reverse his loss.

The account of Mr. Trump’s comment was initially provided to the House committee by at least one witness, according to two people briefed on their work, as the panel develops a timeline of what the president was doing during the riot.
Another witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Mr. Meadows who was present in his office when he recounted Mr. Trump’s remarks, was asked by the committee about the account and confirmed it, according to the people familiar with the panel’s work. It was not immediately clear how much detailed information Ms. Hutchinson provided. She has cooperated with the committee in three separate interviews after receiving a subpoena.

A lawyer for Mr. Meadows said he has “every reason to believe” that the account of what Mr. Meadows said “is untrue.”

Taylor Budowich, a spokesman for Mr. Trump, criticized the committee’s work. “This partisan committee’s vague ‘leaks,’ anonymous testimony and willingness to alter evidence proves it’s just an extension of the Democrat smear campaign that has been exposed time and time again for being fabricated and dishonest,” he said. “Americans are tired of the Democrat lies and the charades, but, sadly, it’s the only thing they have to offer.”

Mr. Budowich did not address the substance of the information provided to the committee.

A lawyer for Ms. Hutchinson did not respond to a message seeking comment.  A spokesman for the committee declined to comment.
Mr. Pence resisted weeks of pressure from Mr. Trump and some of his allies to use his ceremonial role in overseeing Congress’s certification of the electoral votes on Jan. 6 to block or delay Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory. Despite being told by Mr. Pence and his advisers that they did not believe that the vice president had that power, Mr. Trump continued to apply pressure, privately and publicly, through that morning.

Mr. Trump denounced Mr. Pence’s unwillingness to go along with the effort during his rally at the Ellipse just before the Electoral College certification began in the Capitol.

“We want to be so respectful of everybody,” Mr. Trump said in a slashing speech in which he attacked various people and institutions for not cooperating with his desires. “And we are going to have to fight much harder. And Mike Pence is going to have to come through for us, and if he doesn’t, that will be a sad day for our country. Because you’re sworn to uphold our Constitution.”

A short time later, Mr. Trump’s supporters marched up to the Capitol on his encouragement. Some chanted “Hang Mike Pence!” as a gallows was set up outside the Capitol building. Mr. Pence, who had arrived earlier at the Capitol, was taken to safety in an underground garage as the top congressional leadership of both parties was evacuated.

Mr. Trump, watching television throughout the riot, spoke approvingly of those chants as he discussed them with Mr. Meadows and possibly other aides, according to the testimony that the committee has heard.

The panel is trying to develop a report portraying the events as part of Mr. Trump’s quest to stay in office, including how he stoked anger at his loss among his supporters and redirected it against Mr. Pence and members of Congress during what is typically a routine certification process.

The committee has also gathered testimony that Mr. Meadows used the fireplace in his office to burn documents, according to two people briefed on the panel’s questions. The committee has asked witnesses about how Mr. Meadows handled documents and records after the election.

Capitol riot hearing: Trump dismisses daughter Ivanka's testimony

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61767628
.

Former US President Donald Trump has hit back at his daughter Ivanka after she distanced herself from his unfounded claims of mass voter fraud.

A probe into the 2021 US Capitol riots on Thursday aired a previously unseen clip of Ms Trump rejecting the claims.

Mr Trump said Ivanka had not been looking at election results and "had long since checked out".

Democrats argue the mob attack on Congress was the culmination of a months-long attempted coup by Mr Trump.

Graphic footage and testimony of the 6 January 2021 raid on the Capitol in Washington DC was televised on Thursday by the US House of Representatives select committee.

The prime-time hearing drew 20 million viewers on the TV networks.

The broadcast included a clip of testimony by former US Attorney General Bill Barr saying he had repeatedly dismissed the outgoing president's claims that mass voter fraud had caused him to lose the election.

Another excerpt was aired of Ivanka Trump's interview from April with the committee when she was asked about her reaction to Mr Barr's assessment.

"It affected my perspective," Ms Trump said. "I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he was saying."
Mr Trump responded on his social media site, Truth Social, on Friday, labelling the inquiry a "WITCH HUNT!"

"Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results," he added.

"She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!)."

The president also lambasted Mr Barr as a "coward", while continuing to insist the election was "****".

Ms Trump was a presidential adviser in her father's administration and accompanied him to the rally that he hosted outside the White House just before the US Capitol attack unfolded.

A handful of voter fraud cases have been prosecuted since the November 2020 election, but no concrete evidence has emerged of such criminal activity on any scale that could have swayed President Joe Biden's victory.

The House select committee will hold another five hearings over the coming fortnight.

Next Monday's session will attempt to show that Mr Trump and his inner circle knew he had lost the election, but spread claims of voter fraud anyway.

The panel has conducted 1,000 interviews and gathered 140,000 documents over the year-long inquiry.

Minutes before Donald Trump took the stage at an Ellipse rally on Jan. 6, 2021, he urged the Secret Service to remove security magnetometers to let in people with weapons because “they’re not here to hurt me,” a former top White House aide told the Jan. 6 select committee on Tuesday.

Cassidy Hutchinson also testified to the panel about concerns raised by her former boss, then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, about 100 hours before a violent mob stormed the Capitol on the day Trump had marked to subvert the 2020 election.

Things might get real, real bad,” Hutchinson recalled Meadows telling her on Jan. 2, 2021.

Hutchinson’s comments came at the outset of an explosive public hearing of the select committee focused on her insights into the machinations by Trump, Meadows and their allies in the runup to Jan. 6. Her knowledge, informed by being present in nearly every meeting involving Meadows during the post-election period, have quickly propelled Hutchinson into a prominent role for Capitol riot investigators.

Hutchinson’s knowledge of the post-election campaign by Donald Trump loyalists to keep him in power for a second term he didn’t win — an awareness belied by her young age — already has proven highly valuable to the panel and helped it fill in details previously obscured by stonewalling. Her testimony, hastily announced by the committee the previous day, is expected to bring America inside the West Wing as Trump, Meadows, and their allies tried to reverse Joe Biden’s victory.

Almost all, if not all, meetings Mr. Trump had, I had insight on,” Hutchinson has told the committee.

Capitol riot investigators have revealed significant portions of Hutchinson’s prior testimony in litigation and in previous hearings. Hutchinson was present, she told the committee, when then-White House counsel Pat Cipollone told Meadows and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani that a Trump-backed plan to appoint alternate presidential electors was legally unsound. She was there when Meadows convened members of the pro-Trump House Freedom Caucus to strategize about challenging the election results on Jan. 6, 2021.

And she tracked Trump and Meadows’ movements on Jan. 6 itself, providing detail about Trump’s whereabouts as chaos began to unfold at the Capitol.

A person familiar with Hutchinson’s expected testimony said she was involved in logistical discussions about potentially moving Trump from his Ellipse rally on the morning of Jan. 6 to the Capitol, where he had hoped to rally supporters until he was blocked by the Secret Service for security reasons. Hutchinson was also backstage during the rally and witnessed conversations among senior staff.

She told the committee about a stressed Meadows taking multiple calls during the rally from a secure vehicle; she remembered Trump’s chief of staff asking to connect with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Giuliani.
I know that he was on several calls during the rally. And I went over to meet with him at one point, and he had just waved me away, which is out of the ordinary,” Hutchinson recalled.

She also told the committee she’d heard of Trump’s Jan. 6 movements on a Secret Service radio channel that broadcast his location to West Wing aides. That channel helped her discern that Trump was in the Oval Office dining room after his rally speech on the Ellipse.

The select committee has relied on Hutchinson, 26, and other West Wing aides to reconstruct Trump’s actions that day, particularly while the Capitol was under assault and the president took no discernible steps to stop the violence.

Tuesday’s hearing is the panel’s sixth as it presents its findings to the public. Investigators had rescheduled two hearings to mid-July focused on domestic extremism and Trump’s 187 minutes of inaction as his supporters ransacked the Capitol and threatened the lives of lawmakers and then-Vice President Mike Pence.

It’s unclear if any other witnesses will join Hutchinson Tuesday afternoon.

Documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, who had extensive access to the Trump family, met with investigators last Thursday morning after getting subpoenaed by the select panel for his recordings and testimony, which he provided. A Holder spokesman declined to comment on any possible role in Tuesday’s hearing.

The select committee has focused its public hearings squarely on Trump. Its first hearing laid out what the panel described as a seven-part effort by the former president to overturn the 2020 election.

Subsequent hearings have focused on elements of the plot it’s seeking to portray: how the Justice Department and Trump campaign debunked false voter fraud claims even as the then-president kept repeating them; how Trump systematically pressured Pence to seek to overturn the election on Jan. 6; how Trump leaned on state and local election officials to appoint alternative electors; and how Trump pressured his DOJ to legitimize the effort.

Graham effort to delay testimony in election probe rejected

ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge on Friday said Sen. Lindsey Graham’s appearance before a special grand jury investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and others illegally tried to influence the 2020 election in Georgia should not be delayed to allow him to continue to challenge it in court.

Earlier this week, U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May ordered Graham to honor his subpoena for the special grand jury. Graham’s attorneys appealed that order to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and asked May to stay her ruling and prohibit the special grand jury from questioning him while that appeal plays out. May declined that request in her order on Friday.

2 men convicted in plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Whitmer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A jury on Tuesday convicted two men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2020, delivering swift verdicts in a plot that was broken up by the FBI and described as a rallying cry for a U.S. civil war by anti-government extremists.

The result was a big victory for the U.S. Justice Department. A different jury just four months ago couldn’t reach a unanimous decision on Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr. but acquitted two other men, a stunning conclusion that led to a second trial.

Fox and Croft were convicted of two counts of conspiracy related to the kidnapping scheme and attempts to obtain a weapon of mass destruction. Prosecutors said they wanted to blow up a bridge to disrupt police if the abduction could be pulled off at Whitmer’s vacation home.

Croft, 46, a trucker from Bear, Delaware, was also convicted of another explosives charge. The jury deliberated for roughly eight hours over two days.

“Today’s verdicts prove that violence and threats have no place in our politics and those who seek to divide us will be held accountable. They will not succeed,” said Whitmer, a Democrat, who turned 51 years old on Tuesday.

“But we must also take a hard look at the status of our politics,” she added. “Plots against public officials and threats to the FBI are a disturbing extension of radicalized domestic terrorism that festers in our nation, threatening the very foundation of our republic.”

Jurors declined to speak to reporters outside the courthouse.

“We were hoping for a different outcome,” Gibbons said.

Trump election probe in Georgia cites voting system breach

ATLANTA (AP) — The prosecutor investigating whether former President Donald Trump and others illegally tried to interfere in the 2020 election in Georgia is seeking information about the alleged involvement of a Trump ally in the breach of voting equipment at a county roughly 200 miles south of her Atlanta office.

The widening of the probe highlights the latest instance in which unauthorized people appear to have gained access to voting equipment since the 2020 election, primarily in battleground states lost by Trump. Election experts have raised concerns that sensitive information shared online about the equipment may have exposed vulnerabilities that could be exploited by people intent on disrupting future elections.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is seeking to have attorney Sidney Powell, who tried persistently to overturn Trump’s loss, testify before a special grand jury seated for the investigation into possible illegal election interference. In her court petition filed Thursday, Willis said Powell is “known to be affiliated” with Trump and the Trump campaign and has unique knowledge about her communications with them and others “involved in the multi-state, coordinated efforts to influence the results of the November 2020 elections in Georgia and elsewhere.”

The result was a big victory for the U.S. Justice Department. A different jury just four months ago couldn’t reach unanimous decisions on Adam Fox or Barry Croft Jr. but acquitted two other men, a stunning conclusion that led to a second trial.

Their arrests nearly two years ago came at an extremely tense time: the volatile homestretch of the election between Joe Biden and then-President Donald Trump playing out against a backdrop of armed protests over COVID-19 restrictions, especially in Michigan.

Jury selection in the retrial of Fox and Croft coincidentally occurred a day after FBI agents searched Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate for documents, putting the agency in headlines at the same time that the judge was trying to detect any biases about law enforcement in the jury pool.

Fox and Croft were convicted Tuesday of two counts of conspiracy related to the kidnapping scheme and attempts to use a weapon of mass destruction. Prosecutors said they wanted to blow up a bridge to disrupt police if the abduction could be pulled off at Whitmer’s vacation home.

AT probably thinks FBI agents are uncorruptable, Gary Cooper type heroes.

Most of these sort of cases are the same; the FBI make up a crime, send undercover agents to incite and recruit people into the 'gang'. They spend ages trying to get people to agree to have some role in the fantasy crime (often by bribing them), and then charge then with conspiracy to kidnap or terrorism etc

Then the justice department charges them with 27 counts for basically the same thing, and the accused has to beat every charge or they're looking at decades in jail.

They've been doing this to black muslims since 9/11, virtually every 'terrorist plot' foiled by the FBI was created by the FBI.

Now they have turned Woke, they use the same tactics against MAGAs.
