Boris Johnson on Sunday moves his Election campaign up a gear by accusing Jeremy Corbyn of plotting to land Britain with a £1.2 trillion bill – equivalent to an extra £43,408 for every household in the country.

The astonishing figure, based on the additional cost of Labour's policies over a five-year Parliament, is contained in a Tory dossier produced despite furious objections from Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell over the use of civil servants in its creation.

Clever to break that down in to an individual household bill rather than an almost unfathomable number.

The height of Govt hypocrisy in more than one way.
Holding a gun to the head of the civil-servant number-cruncher was never likely to produce an accurate reading, and such a party-political assessment should never have been commanded; but all this at a time when Govt has done its best to suppress legitimate reports concerning the damage of Brexit and Russian interference in the 2016 referendum that spawned it.
But also, this Govt lost any pretence to good-housekeeping since being taken over by Eurosceptic evangelicals: £4b spunked in March and October on deadlines that didn't happen, £110 million spent on a "Get ready for Brexit, Oct 31st" propaganda.

The 1.2 trillion is just for their 2017 manifesto.

Corbyn added at least £200bn when he announced all GP surgeries, dental practices, opticians and chemists would be bought and given to the NHS.

Lord knows what the state owner drug companies will cost to set up.

The £1.2 trillion is just for the 2017 manifesto plus conference pledges.

Corbyn's pledge to have all NHS services delivered by NHS staff is an astronomical promise. It could cost an initial £0.5trillion in privatisations.

That's unusual for the Mail to produce such a one sided article, their fairness commissar must be on holiday!

No mention of the assets the nation will gain, and pass on to the next generation, along with the associated revenues, no mention of the stimulus to the economy  that such a mammoth investment will make, and the increase in personal wealth (most of which paradoxically will eventually go to the “already haves”), and of course the increase in tax revenues associated with the bump in GDP which such an investment will inevitably cause.

How remiss of them

I've no doubt the present Labour Party will bankrupt the country if given the keys to Number 10 and Number 11; Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and their motley crew of economic rejects and fantasists spend, spend and spend until the coffers become empty again just like the last time. They are very good at spending,...housekeeping is not in their vocabulary.

Typical patronising, condescending & snivelling attitude from the Uber lefties.

What is immature is adults believing in socialism. Fair enough when you are a teenager and clueless but there is not excuse for a adult, unless you are a **** or a ****

The Labour Party fantasy manifesto do not even worth consideration. And, I'd challenge their MPs for foregoing their annual remunerations and expenses for my vote if they are truly serious about managing the country and economy. I'm sorry, but even his former wife did not allow him to facilitate his political career at the expense of the education of one of their sons; rightly so too - the children are our future!
