i feel for the 47 mps who have said they will not vote for a referendum or revoke..the pressure on them now will be doubled..there numbers don't add up in this parliament..so a GE will decide brexit...labour are now a party of the south with a few cities in the north...the sad thing for me more than anything is the utter frustration people feel with labour now being the lib dems ...all the people who need a labour government will now not get it.

Very sad to see the decline of the trade union movement in this country. What was once a radical force now just seems to be an outlet for left liberal frustration with Britain’s working class.

Costas Lapavitsas masterclass on Syriza and Labour: “Syriza basically promised all sorts of things to the Greek people, didn’t deliver them, changed completely and became a pro-EU party, and therefore followed policies that were dictated by EU conditions”

The Red Flag has been replaced by the EU flag. The bosses have beaten the workers. Labour’s capitulation to the Remain establishment could be the beginning of the end for my party, writes @BrendanChilton

Blue Labour is just for reactionaries who love trade unions

blue labour is a pressure group inside the party to support WC and policies... it stands for family community, and country, its affiliated with trade unions... but is a small number of supporters..4-5k

Disappointing. There was me thinking the thread title referred to Brexit.

The original post I don't think is meant to be taken seriously.

Absolute rubbish. Labour Leave might as well be Tory leave account.
|
|
By:
Labour have never supported either no deal or bad Tory Brexit, what is the big change today? Something like 5 backed May's deal at last count, and like 8 maybe were ok with no deal? So the overwhelming majority have always been against these options, their manifesto always rejected these options, if you aren't for these options you've got to be for something else, ie. another ref or remain.

possibly 100 MPs will lose their seats
That's it lads you'll lose your job and your are prepared to sell out the labour movment by pandering to shtloads of extreme right voters, TO SAVE YOUR EFFIN JOB. Here's some what aboutery. What about all the fine Labour people who voted remain, Out of love of the working class who need to live in a country that's not been ruined. |

By:
melv..your brainwashed mate.....you are factually incorrect..but that no surprise..
as for a tory leave account..its idiots like you who haven't a clue what a socialist is ..i,d get educated before passing judgement on people who have been members for 30-50yrs and i understand you might not remember but labour were eurosceptic till the 89 election...you believe no one who wants to leave can be a labour supporter... |

What way does freedom of movement improve wages in a developed country.
The only time wages have risen drastically in this country was after the plague, the first world war ,and the second world war when there was a shortage of manpower. Labour are con artists. |

I never cease to be baffled by folks who believe that future parliament representation will be decided solely by whether you supported leave/remain.

My Labour Membership & Unite Union as well as Momentum have been cancelled. Democracy has been betrayed. I am very disappointed with Corbyn whom I thought he was a leaver. I have already paid for the Brighton Labour Annual Conference but use it to support the party. I am very sad |

Parties are best getting rid of members who only are interested in one policy, they are only there to cause trouble rather than contribute to the party as a whole.

.labour are now a party of the south with a few cities in the north...
As a Lancashire lad I proclaim that Manchester and Liverpool are the greatest cities in the north; if not in the entire nation ( London is not an English city its a different planer...I love it). And Manchester and Liverpool are staunchly remain, what about the good and true Labour supporters in those great cites. Nowt to you. You would rather boo hoo for a bunch of blackmailing Farage fans. Who would happily note right wing. I say let the children play. |

There is never even an argument for how you will get a socialist Brexit, the hindrance to socialism is from within and society as a whole rather than from being in the EU.

The media in particular is generally fiercely hostile towards socialism because unsurprisingly it's funded mostly by capitalists.

with respect , you haven't a clue what your talking about..i've argued with people on here over tax, housing welfare all major issues...brexit is the most important ATM..i wonder why? couldn't be that 635 mps voted to ask the public to decide whether to stay or leave the eu? the people didn't ask for it?it was forced upon us?..it was a binary choice ..one way or another...the people voted..the MPS stabbed the people in the back...it was called DEMOCRACY..might not mean much to you...but some of us cherish it. |
|
By:
Tony, you have fallen into the trap of assuming Brexit is the only question that matters in a general election. Try asking the Brexit candidate at Peterborough if that's true or the UKIP one at Newport West.
|
|
By:
And as far as the next election to Westminster is concerned, at Brecon, would you vote for a convicted criminal? I wouldn't and wouldn't give a hoot where he/she stood on Brexit or which party they represented. I also wouldn't vote for any single issue party.

POLITICS
until brexit is sorted we cannot sort out the NHS rail water etc..it has poisoned the politics of the country...of course other issues will be talked and fought over everyday? but brexit is about our political class doing as they are told..they are only lent their power until the voters take it away..if labour had just followed their manifesto of 2017 we would be fine. i assure you unless brexit is sorted we wont get back too normal. |
|
By:
I will tell you what I would be asking the candidates....
What are you going to do about rural bus services and transport for schoolchildren? What are you going to do to collect litter and cut down on plastic pollution damaging our rural community, farms and wildlife? What are you going to do about providing better ambulance cover to the nearest A and E department and how can you improve the waiting times there? Schools, NHS, public transport, the environment- issues that matter to me but clearly not to you. |
|
By:
again..wow..could you not read or get what i mean? never mind....
|
|
By:
I get what you mean just fine. You have become so obsessed with Brexit that the things that really matter are obsolete.
|
|
By:
There is a very simple thing here. You can't claim to be a socialist then vote Brexit Party and Nigel Farage, these things simply aren't compatible.

Wonderful article on @HuffPostUK by my colleague Brendan.
We have deserted our Leave voters & traditional working-class supporters. 'Deserted' is the right word. https://twitter.com/John_Mills_JML one of labours biggest donners chairman of labour leave fought the referendum in 75 with benn, castle, shore, the heath tories took us in...., thatcher made the single market, major signed maastricht , and yet some think the eu is not a conservative ideal no its the socialists who are not socialists..![]() ![]() |
