I would be amazed if the democrats picked her again they must surely have some younger brighter talents than Biden, Clinton, Bernie etc

She can run. She won't win though.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:12 AM GMT
Strangely enough, a guy that lost in the recent midterms has risen to near favourite in the race for the democratic nomination, Beto O'Rourke. Personally, I think he would win v Trump quite easily.

Hilary Clinton is un-electable. Even a primate would not have lost to ginger, and she did!
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 6:15 PM GMT
I really can't see a route to victory for Trump in 2020. Crucial states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin which Trump won in 2016 now appear lost judging by the midterm elections. The difficulty from a betting point of view is identifying the democrat candidate, any one of a dozen or more could realistically be in the frame. The simplest thing to do it seems is simply lay Trump on the exchange at around 2.9.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 6:57 PM GMT
Looking through other states where Trump won in 2016...

Arizona 48-45
Florida 49-48
Georgia 51-46
Iowa 51-41
North Carolina 50-46
Ohio 52-44
Texas 52-43

None of these can now be considered to be in the bag, far from it.

Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 8:18 PM GMT
It is the liberal elite with arrogance abounding that are causing the rise of the far right. You just displayed that so well. People look at results and like him or not Trumps are outstanding. The electorate are not dumb and in the dark in the social media age. They are far more savvy to being lied to.

A middle ground party is needed badly at this point to cut out the arrogant dishonest elite on the left and the far right to intentionally improve the vast majority of the electorates lives. Not holding my breath as the over ambitious are generally flawed and most likely to hold power.
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 8:18 PM GMT

Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 8:21 PM GMT

Report lfc1971 November 13, 2018 8:30 PM GMT
People want less change and less turmoil . Trump should try and improve things slowly and do as little as possible outside America
Don’t even travel , stay at home and he could be re-elected
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 8:39 PM GMT
Trump is a street fighter and able to take on the rich elitist left and change the course of politics. As someone who isnt a fan of wither for different reasons i have been amazed at the lengths the elite have gone to in order to bring him down. It must be the most co-ordinated attempt in political history. They fail to acknowledge that they created this monster. The left wing press and various cheap joke left comedians couldnt speak of him in worse terms yet it is they that have created him by arrogantly ignoring their viewers and the electorate. They say love is blind now we know arrogant elitist left wingers are blind.
Report anxious November 13, 2018 8:43 PM GMT
Ive never heard such nonsense , why has he in his cabinet billionaires and EX Goldman sachs bankers
Report anxious November 13, 2018 8:45 PM GMT
Even most of the GOP dont like him , trump is a populist and spiv chancer
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 8:57 PM GMT
Basically Trump is president by default because the other republican candidates were ordinary at best and his democratic opponent was poor. He achieved three million votes less than Hillary Clinton but won very narrowly in key three states that netted him 46 electoral college votes and hence a majority. The republican party results at the ballot box since then have been pretty dreadful, firstly in special elections and more recently in the midterm house elections. They held on to the senate as expected as it was extremely difficult not to.
Trumps personal approval ratings are low and generic swing to democrats is strong.
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:03 PM GMT
Though he is a billionaire he is beyond wanting to gain more for himself. That is rare in politics.

Most are in it for themselves and their own personal financial gain with the extreme example being Putin.

That is what the elitist left hate about him the most he can genuinely show then up in achieving things in society which they werent interested in achieving due to their feathered nests. If he was poor and trying to make his way they would not be so worried. He is actually showing them up for all his many faults as he is beyond concerns of personal riches and can actually aim to help his people. He is their creation.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:07 PM GMT
At the end of the day probably any republican candidate would have beaten Hillary.
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:10 PM GMT
What have i said about liberal elitist arrogance? Defeat that and tell the truth to the electorate and act in THEIR best interests and you might defeat Trump as well.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:12 PM GMT
There is no "might" about the likelihood of Trump losing in 2020. He is the clear outsider with all bookies.
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:14 PM GMT
Unfortunately the rich and powerful are always put ahead of the people by liberal elite governments hence the right wing backlash across Europe. Get rid of the Britpap shoyte and make working peoples lives better. The rich are getting richer and the arrogance remains.
Report anxious November 13, 2018 9:15 PM GMT
Whilst you may have a point about global elites please spare usthe guff about trump , yes he may not be motivated by money but he is motivated by his own ideas some of which are very dangerous
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:16 PM GMT
As long as the arrogance remains, Trump remains.
Report tanglefoot November 13, 2018 9:16 PM GMT
Trump didn’t care if he won the last election and won’t care about the 2020 election, that is what makes him so hard to beat, he attack’s with venom and to hang with the consequences
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:17 PM GMT

Presume Trump was strong favourite to gain election originally (?). More arrogance yay it is flowing freely still. 1/7 to vote Remain as well bargain that was. Never underestimate democracy it is there to take a pin to the largest balloon of arrogance.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:21 PM GMT

Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:23 PM GMT
I bet Trump because his opponent was so poor, not because of Trump. I would have bet any republican to win.
Report tanglefoot November 13, 2018 9:24 PM GMT
Trump is not a career politician, if fact I think he despises them, and will just float on to his next escapade, once this project is done
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:27 PM GMT
The left and right do not represent the electorate. They are both public school with no experience of life or have left wing extremist views.

A middle party is needed to place working class people in government. They have more life experience, sense and common decency than what we have now. That is the ideal.
Report politicspunter November 13, 2018 9:28 PM GMT
You mean the USA Libertarian party?
Report anxious November 13, 2018 9:29 PM GMT
You mean people like bulingdon boris and  Rees-Mogg
Report eric_morris November 13, 2018 9:34 PM GMT
Brexit without customs union will improve working class and middle class prosperity drastically. Wages will rise and the economy will rocket. Those to lose are the rich as they are at the receiving end. There is a reason every business leader threatens to leave the uk post Brexit and it is because they will have to try harder than just wage profits (immigrant wages) to get their bonuses. I dont care if Rees-Mogg or Johnson are toffs if they want the same.

This will happen unless the arrogant elite and the rich right stop Brexit in its tracks which they are doing their damnest to achieve with their secret EU sellout.

Maybe he has a point

I don't like the term Liberal Elites. I prefer the term " Elites ". They represent their children, right or left. Privilege and precedence.

What have the Romans ever done for us? fcuk the poor might be their motto!

I have changed my views since November 2916
Report Whisperingdeath November 13, 2018 11:27 PM GMT
Donald Chump was the wrong answer to the right question!

Yes protect the borders but don't demonise people who want a better life for their children

Yes tackle the Chinese over Intellectual Property theft, dumping of steel and various other wrongs but don't start a Trade War

Yes drain the swamp but don't start the process by putting your son in law in charge ffs!
