The man who saved Britain has decided to call it a day.
Twenty five years of singular devotion to what looked a lost cause has come to an end.
I'm grateful to him,Europe should be grateful to him.
However we will miss him,the Brexit side has lost its star player,I don't think he can be replaced.

I have decided to stand aside as Leader of UKIP. The victory for the 'Leave' side in the referendum means that my political ambition has been achieved. I came into this struggle from business because I wanted us to be a self-governing nation, not to become a career politician. UKIP is in a good position and will continue, with my full support to attract a significant vote. Whilst we will now leave the European Union the terms of our withdrawal are unclear. If there is too much backsliding by the Government and with the Labour Party detached from many of its voters then UKIP's best days may be yet to come. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you the membership for your extraordinary support and generosity over the many years, I could not have done it without you. Yours as ever, Nigel Farage. |

The man has done plenty....with dignity I may add. I'm sure there would be many Tories who would welcome him into the camp, even become a minister.
That aside the man's done more than enough, he should enjoy a good retirement. As far as I'm aware he's on his second marriage and has also survived cancer. Retire and enjoy Nigel. |

When the public dissatisfaction with a generation of politicians finally reached a tipping point, in recent years you had to withstand the might of that British and European establishment conniving against you. Perhaps worse still, you had to withstand the cowardly, shameful, orchestrated smears against you (and the UKIP) by the outrageously biased Lefty media and the deluded politicians who did not have your grasp on detail and your ability as a communicator. There were reduced to pretending to be offended by a man who wished to see proper Democracy being restored to Britain and Europe, and to live in a country where we could try to manage our borders and public services ourselves. Media and politicians were so frightened of your capacity for connecting with the ordinary non-metropolitan voter they did their best to try and exclude you from public view during the EU Referendum campaigns. Thankfully the long-suffering British people and taxpayers weren't deceived by those who politicians who made this country the chosen land for Jihadists, for Peace-Loving Rapists, and for anyone who wants to pretend to be a refugee or Asylum Seeker. The public didn't want Britain to be a land safe for foreign criminals who can commit umpteen crimes but can't be deported. The public wisely chose they didn't want to belong to an EU that wanted to keep this damaging status quo. Well done Nigel Farage, a truly Great Briton. A rare example of an effective politician who made a difference. |

He has done what even the likes of Churchill and Kennedy failed to do and that is to stop the corporate supranational government in their tracks.
Had he not walked away from that plan crash a few years ago we would still be heading towards global government. The corporates and their minions will fight back. Blair and Clegg and a number of MP are fighting for the corporations to stop the referendum being acted upon. We have this legal action just started also. The two next key tests in the UK are: 1. Do we get a Brexit PM here that actually gets us out of the EU. 2. Does the new PM sign us up to new Treaties that tie us back into the global government control. If Trump can win in the USA the global government project will be set back decades. |

I would have preferred Farage to stay prominent until Article 50 was triggered.
In a recent interview he admits to being 'nervous' about the powers that be 'backsliding' over 'taking back control' So who is going to keep the pressure on the Tories to uphold the referendum and the issues of border control? Farage looked very concerned. I think i am a good reader of someone, and Farage has lost that gusto like a man who knows the controllers have other ideas. Even more reason for him to stick it out. Perhaps when he says 'i have done everything i could have' he knows that he has hit the brick wall. |

He has been under constant threat for years now but the attack by the thugs of UAF on his children got to him,he has two young daughters.hewants to spend more time with them. Farage left when he did because he's not nearly as stupid as the demographics he panders to, or his supporters here.
He wants absolutely nothing to do with the gathering storm clouds, and following recriminations. I'm guessing we reach parity with the $ by November. First major civil unrest around then too. Unless parliament chucks the whole thing out very soon, too much damage will have been done (even if we don't ultimately leave) for there not to be a major recession. |

Personally, I don't think nige is very well and I very much doubt whether he is as pleased with all these hate crimes that go on as some of the
ultra-conservative extremist activists on here. Fundamentally, he's made a fortune riding the hate wagon, but being careful to keep out of any of the trouble that results. He is probably no worse than some of those he managed to dupe. They are responsible for giving us a new thatcher. Note they won't step up to the plate, till all this Chilcott stuff is swept under the carpet.  |
