Fair points.
Also she has been Home Secretary for nearly seven years and failed to curb immigration,I don't think she has the stomach for it. |
By:
Lasting that length of time at the Home Office has been a tremendous achievement and without doubt she's the right person to become leader of the party and prime minister.
By:
She and Boris are favouring the 70/30 option on immigration.
Allowing those with a definite job offer into the country for a period of time, giving them a NI number. This is estimated to be 70% of migration. However there must be a visitor/holiday/roaming pass as well, and this will allow job hunters in as well. |

Gove just thrown his hat into the ring.

Theresa as usual very impressive.
She is a shoe in. |

O wattana Siam
Dorris was around 1.8 May was around 5.4 Just after Cameroon took his ball home. I knew the knives would be out for Dorris and May would be regarded as a safe pair of hands. I think she will make a good Prime Minister. Dont know how popular she is with the wank and file though but pretty sure they will want to remain in power and she if without doubt the safest bet. |
By:
Did not have the bravery of Boris and Gove, she will not have the courage to make the hard decisions if she becomes leader.
cannot be trusted. |
By:
Just had a great gag though 'last time Boris went to negotitate in the EU, he came back with three water cannon' Rats in a sack, loving it.
By:
Boris and Gove have apparent 'promises' to uphold, Theresa May will calm the waters.
By:
she has failed in every job so far, and will fail as pm. We need someone on the far right of the party.
By:
BoJo been done up like a kipper by Gove-a hitherto supporter of his
welcome to the back stabbing, internecine world of party politics odds on yesterday..now out to 11/2 not a prayer of getting it now |
By:
she has failed in every job so far, and will fail as pm. We need someone on the far right of the party.
Too toxic and they will want to move away as far as possible from Faragism. They will want to reassure the Remain side. Not my preference, but this is what will happen. |
By:
I am very worried they are not going to stop free movement of people which is what England outside London voted for.
I admit backing May when she went off the radar but I think it would be a disgrace if a remain politician gets the job. Labour MPs also support remain. What a mess and it will only hand more power to UKIP. |
By:
Your fears will come true IT
Free movement of 'labour' will continue, with some adjustments i would imagine. Time for Farage to get busy, how will the working class take this? |
By:
The overwhelming majority of Conversatives backed Brexit. I just pray they do not fall for this when they vote. If its Gove V May when it goes out to members they must realise that May is going to be much weaker on introducing a points based system. In the home office she has failed to bring down non-EU immigration.
We need to take a clear move now to sort this issue out before UKIP take hold of it. |
By:
Theresa May has a disqualifying feature, one I hate to bring up as it could be a source of great sadness to her.
Angela Merkel, her predecessor who's name escapes me,Ted Heath,Harold Wilson all had this same feature. I think it breeds selfishness,it means not thinking of the future. They were all childless. |
By:
Mistress Teresa May currently trading on here at odds-on to win.
In the last few evenings I've heard several Tory grandees inform us that the favourite never wins a Tory Leadership Election. (They've obviously forgotten Major wining a few days after he resigned it in '95). Back or Lay ? |
By:
Lay TM all day, Andrea Leadsom is the value here
By:
How will she get into the final 2 with Boris and Gove for the Brexitiers?
By:
The overwhelming majority of Conversatives backed Brexit.
The Tory majority was for Remain IT. 185 for Remain 138 for Leave |
By:
Or even conservatives
By:
Conservative voters and membership. The MPs on all sides supported remain as they are out of touch on immigration.
By:
Boris not running.
Looks a straight fight between Theresa May and Michael Gove. |
By:
I see your point it, but the polls suggest support for TM.
https://yougov.co.uk/news/2016/06/29/theresa-may-storms-ahead-boris-among-tory-party-me/ A new YouGov poll of Conservative Party members for The Times confirms that among the membership, Theresa May is even more dramatically ahead, attracting 36% of support from long list of potential contenders compared to Boris Johnson's 27%. |
By:
Boris drppoed ou?
Obv that poll needs updating now. haha |
By:
ffs
Boris dropped out? |

Proper Conservative Principles being adhered to here
The one the struck the blow never wins the prize! This is getting better and better. I would really like to see Leadsom come up on the rails. Can't see it but it would be great. Can't stand Gove. Just like a school prefect. Slimey backstabbing little wimp. I am also highly delighted Dirrs got stabbed in the back, shadenfraude bloody beautiful! |
By:
.PING.
The true reason for the ref becomes apparent to even the most delusional brexit supporter......... |
By:
May 1/2 now for the prize.
By:
do tell spyker? I suspect you are unhappy with the referendum result.
By:
My outsider is a.leadsom.
King Boris has delayed his enthroning, which will come after brexiting gets in a big mess. Luckily, my bet has a ten year time span. Early days yet. Btw, where is smith? He must be lurking there in the shadows some place? |
By:
Leasdom looking like second fav now
By:
Maybe not
By:
leadsom is clean, may is the snoopers charter women
By:
Is she?
![]() The worse possible selection for everyone will be the gay-er - he already discredited himself. I still wonder why smith is hanging back? gove couldn't even push through his education sh it; he won't get much in Brussels. They need the other tssr, carswell. I doubt they ever intended brexiting in the first place. ![]() They are all dodgepots, whatever they do. |
By:
The fact that she did take part in the referendum campaign is not good. If we pick her we may as well of kept DC. Amazed to see Chris Grayling supporting her and now talking down immigration. Talk about empowering UKIP.
By:
Leadsom was a brexiter I believe, IT.
May kept her head down, like smith is doing now. King Boris didn't step up to the plate; probably never thought he'd get put on the spot. gove and fox are so horrible that even the new organisation that replaces nu-labor may give the fkrs a run at the General Election. Who knows? These lads have the inside track, but, in reality, they haven't got a scooby as to how to proceed. |
By:
Just back from walking my big slobbery dogue de bordeaux and had been preparing a wee item where I would make a case that the maximum of one of the quartet of Johnson, Gove, Leadsom and Fox could get on the final ballot paper. Johnson is a buffoon, good for pr, nothing else. Gove is slimy but capable though can't be trusted. Leadsom was impressive in EU debates and could surprise. Fox is a chancer who has no possible hope of winning.
Home I come and Boris has packed it. Can see Gove and Leadsom mp supporters cutting each other up with Fox damaging both slightly. Final ballot prediction May v Crabb. |

The Referendum was held because David Cameroon made a Faustian Pact with the Devil and the Devil took his soul! and that's the truth!
