So why do so called patriots desecrate the flag of St George by writing the name of their local pub or other such nonsense on it? Many countries have laws against writing on the national flag but we just use the red line as that - a bloody line to write on. If you write on it it's no longer a national flag it's just a sheet with a red cross and writing on it.

I also find it wrong that the national anthem has now become a football chant (much as i don't like the dirge in which it's played it is still our anthem) and I've had my view on writing on the flag for many years and your response tells me all i need to know about C21 century 'patriotism'.
