Is there a role for UKIP now? You bet there is.
So, Boris is making up to the Remainers and proposing that George Osborne stay on as Chancellor or Foreign Secretary. Osborne, if you please, is reportedly "furious at Leave's behaviour in recent months" and not sure he wants to play.
To even contemplate having George Osborne as Chancellor beyond today is extraordinary. Though perhaps they genuinely believe he has worked out how to predict economic growth accurately for the next 14 years. Emergency budget, anyone?
Meanwhile the Vote Leave leaders are (almost) all busy saying that immigration was not the main factor in the Brexit win. The exception being IDS. Only Lord Heseltine is saying that Nigel should be on the negotiating team, and that is because he thinks it will be a poisoned chalice.

Presumably you think one of our MEPs should be on the team? Is he the best qualified?
Or maybe - as the 52% have indicated their desire not to have British MEPs any longer we should have people with a democratic mandate on the team? |

Keep him well away. With him involved the terms we get are likely to be worse than what would get without him there.
I would say have some business leaders involved. Many on the BREXIT side have said the EEC politicians and civil servants have been bad for our businesses with the regulations and red tape they tie businesses up with. Just think most if not all of our politicians and diplomats have actually had any business experience. |

Without Farage there wouldn't have been a referendum.
He's the one who did the most to bring to the attention of the nation what an the undemocratic mess the EU is. He shaped the UKIP party and forced the Tories to give us a referendum. We need someone like him on the team to keep an eye on the other negotiators whom I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them. And that is why they don't want him to be involved. They know he would report anything untoward that he saw. |

Estimated at 1m+ leave voters would change their vote. The 'soft' remainer's Farage spoke of would come out of their shell and the result would be clear cut REMAIN.

It doesn't matter. The vote was in an official referendum, not on signing some poxy petition AFTER the result didn't go the right way.
Remain had ample opportunity to win the referendum. They had the PM on their side, almost the full force of government and opposition parties, plus any number of institutions (both EU-funded and pseudo independent). They p***** away £9m+ on an official leaflet which included at least one stolen photograph to make their case. They even managed to conveniently have the voter registration website crash for 2-3 hours immediately prior to closing and then re-opened it for 48 hours. If the Remain argument had been so convincing, then why didn't they walk this vote? Could it be that it simply wasn't? |

There will have been many who voted Remain who strongly believe in democracy. That would preclude most of them contemplating over turning the result of a robust campaign for the referendum,at least as many as it has been suggested might change from Brexit to Remain after the event.This is rarely mentioned.

Delusional nonsense. All THE LEAVE PROMISES have fallen to dust. Why so many believed them is a matter for the education system. If propaganda was used to manipulate the result is tainted in many peoples view. Why didn't they walk this vote - simple Farage was right - many in the leave camp 'would walk over broken glass' but Remain were 'soft'. If there was a rerun remain would indeed 'walk it'. Farage himself said 48-52 in remains favour would mean 'unfinished business' good for the goose perhaps. This 'poxy petition' was set up by a LEAVE voter BEFORE the referendum - again goose and gander. Several Leaves said the same sort of thing but are backtracking at a pace (as with their cough, cough, promise). Democracy wasn't served here. We vote for our MP's to make such decisions - it was political in-fighting that has brought us to this sorry state. Boris is sh!t!ng himself and knows to take over , invoke article 50 would result in not only a break with the EU but Scotland. No Tory wants to be remembered as that PM ! Like the referendum there is too much nuance to these matters for the public to be left to decide-
