Britain has been told that it must pay an additional €2.1bn (£1.7bn) into the European Union budget by the end of next month in an ultimatum certain to be used against David Cameron by the growing camp urging the UK to quit the EU.

Our politicians have got one leg and Junky et al have got the other and they have again turned us upside down whilst shaking like **** dogs.

Despite all the words, will anything be done about immigration?

All Cameron will do is offer us a referendum to come out of the EU,
but I suspect we will vote to stay in.

Miliband has promised to bring in an immigration bill...but this is more for immigration
from outside the EU not within it

What we are paying for now, is allowing far too much immigration in the past,
going back some 60 years.

Current EU immigration is driven by:

1. The Credit Crunch, creating a world of depression

2. Allowing all former East European countries into the EU,
about the only thing we get from them is people.

Our problems are and have been created by our inept leaders.
Still we vote them in.

I have never in my lifetime seen anyone with a placard demanding more immigration,
I doubt I ever will.

Although I have seen some against racism

Our trouble is, we seem unable to distinguish between protecting our borders and racism,
it has cost us dear.

Anyway why not try arguing the points, e.g. like cryoftruth or unitedbiscuits who although their views are diametrically opposed to my own most of the time at least have a view, rather than just posting basically the same thing all the time.

Insulting/arguing against someone's views is one thing but I'm not interested in any attempts at personal insults as that is rather a pointless exercise given the anonymity of this site.

So basically either argue for or against handing more money over to the EU via whatever views you have or f off

Report Eeternaloptimist October 24, 2014 3:29 PM BST
Well he could in one sense because this penalty is being imposed based on some kind of assessment arising from 1995 onwards and Labour were far more guilty on that score seeing as they borrowed money from 2002 to the very to of the boom. But that's not really the issue. These fucckers know that the people in this country feel we pay enough to these shysters. Sticking extra billions on top at this time isn't going to endear them to us.

Cameron should offer to pay when the auditors sign off on Europe's books.

Report pawras October 24, 2014 3:32 PM BST
I wonder whether :-
It's a set up for Cameron to look strong before the by-election by refusing to pay, then trying to quietly cough it up afterwards.
The EU commissioners are manoeuvring us into a referendum, which they probably think they’ll be able to force a YES and keep us in chains so it ends up third time lucky for Germany and European domination.
The EU commissioners are so out of touch as to the true depth of feeling against them over here that they’re oblivious to how their demands will be met.
The EU commissioners have a good idea how much the public is against them but don’t care because as far they’re concerned we can just do as we’re told and the political fallout here is just background noise.

I would like to draw your attention to a fact.  A very large chunk of the elecotrate have been born into a post Common market entry.  They know nothing else. Therefore membership of the EU is a given. Do you follow my drift. So to talk about leaving something that is almost as permanent  as say the existence of Westminster, driving on the left, the royal family etc etc is not a topic that would interest them. It exists, we are in it, so why rock the boat- they are brought up to it in education and they receive large chunks of pro eu propaganda so why go to the bother of changing something which will cause too much hassle??

EO is right when he made the point the only thing Cameron has said is that he wont pony up the money by the 1st of December. The readjustment is after all based on the figures supplied by each government. Britain got a rebate in 2008 under the same system. However, where Cameron could argue the figures is around the fact a percentage of the bill is based on the estimated black market economy in each country.

EO is right when he made the point so said the eeternaliar about the eeternaliar. Give it up mate, you are fooling nobody.

This is a stupid thread. The rules of the EU are stupid. Its quite a laugh that Greece is supposed to have such a thriving economy its got to send some money back to the EU to pay for hard up Germany. But it is the rules, the same ones we signed up to or rather Thatcher and Major signed up to and good old Tony Benn was wholly opposed to of course.

Its a narional disgrace that we take the rebates and even use the EU court when it suits us (ie when we or rather Greasy is trying to save the Tory Party doners' (that would be the bankers EO so adores) but shout "foul" when a rule seems to be going aginst us.

Cameron is like a spoiled child. He seemed happy enough to use rules to claim dosh from the British tax payers when he had a climbing wysteria that needed pruning. Now he hates the rules when it makes him look stupid and UKIP get a bargain bonus.
Report Angel Gabrial October 24, 2014 8:54 PM BST

Thatcher did not sign up the this 2013 version of the "common market".

Thatcher won a rebate for the UK - Blair gave it away on the condition that France thinks about looking at the vast amount of tax payers money given to inefficient French farmers. Needless to say the French thought about looking at the vast amount of money they took fromBlair.
