just to clarify - it has not actually been proven that he was born in the usa to be fair. whilst i have not taken that angle of approach here, others certainly have when it comes to their submitted cases.
thanks for all your comments anyway. ps whilst doing this i am actually doing some useful things too, not that crusading for justice is not useful in its own way ;) i may be paying an excessive amount of attention to all this, but this is simply because i do believe this will all turn out to be an historic issue and i am not going to miss it simply because the media refuses to acknowedge it still. i am currently laid up on the sofa with a bad case of the man flu too so am not really feeling like doing the other things i would normally do at this time of day :) |

ruth - clearly you don't understand what this is about. some people in the usa believe that the consitution, ie the basis of us law, is still important. and why shouldn't they believe that - it is still the law - the nation was founded upon that law, and the goverment profess to govern by that law.
obama and the supreme court have however denied the people their consitutional right by refusing to investigate the matter or actually hear a case, whereby proof is requested that obama meets the criteria for president. why should he not have to honour that consitutional requirement? the supreme court's sole jurisdiction is to protect the consitution - so in refusing to investigate it they are openly ignoring their duty. since when did they have the power to say "this part of the constitution matters, but this bit does not.." this is just another example of the disregard for the consitution that occurred under the bush administration (and previous administrations) and that will continue to occur under obama's - because he is not the golden boy you think... to me he has proven his is a lapdog by his economic decisions of late. the stimulus serves the interests of the elite, not the people like they would have you believe - many people even seem to realise that - so why does no-one put two and two together and realise that obama himself is serving them too. perhaps obama should come out with it and re-write the consititution like im sure he wants to, and actually let people know which laws are to be followed and which are not. or maybe everyone should pick and choose like he thinks he can... |

The last President, or at least his "advisors" rode rough shod over the constitution and over the needs and welfare of their own citizens and the reputation of their country to an amazing extent.
You doubtless missed all the articles in the NYT showing how the Bush/Cheyney cronies lined their pockets at tax payers expense and how Rumsvelt okayed the use of torture, and how the rights to free speech of Americans was totally undermined by their fascist inclinations or at least you didn't keep posting your disgust at it all. Now you have a really bright smart guy as president, a man who almost the whole world is desperately hoping may start to do some good and undo just a little of the evil of his predecessor, and what do you do? Spend all your waking hours questioning his eligibility. There really is very little hope for you. |

the constitution is there to protect people's personal liberties. whether the constitution is right for america or not is not the question at this time - or at least it's not the question that they're publicly raising. i think if the media made it clear that if it is the constitution that is in question, a lot more people in the usa would be asking the questions i am. either way, it is meant to be the law of the land - it binds people and government, and it is not right that the people should live by the consitution and the government does not have to. canary if you dont get any of this, just ask any american about the constitution and what it means.
with regards to bush/cheney i could not agree more with you. i didnt post about them all the time when they were in power because i didnt post at all on here at that time! all im saying is, obama represents the same interests as bush/cheney, so if you were concerned about they're actions, you should be concerned about obama. so if you think i wasn't concerned about them you are quite mistaken - it's just my attitude to raising these issues more publicly has recently changed, because to be honest i cannot believe what i am seeing and more so the fact that others dont see it. |
