British WSOP Winner Darren Woods Sentenced for Online Poker Fraud
Report chipfire227 January 28, 2015 3:18 PM GMT
Cant say Im shocked. I started off playing small stakes STT's and gradually worked my way up to the $30-$55 buy in games. It was clear after a while the games weren't straight once you got beyond a certain level.

The problem you had was that when you tried to discuss the " C " word on here, or multiple accounting, threads got pulled, and when you reported them to the sites, they said they would investigate but then couldnt disclose their findings.

The site Woods was allegedly cheating on is one where I reported a couple of instances of what I strongly suspected was collusion. Nothing got done and I certainly never got any refunds. As Woods says if lots of other people are doing it the only way to maintain your edge is to join them. The fact he got away with it for so long doesn't exactly fill you with confidence the sites involved have any kind of worthwhile anti fraud measures in place. Especially as he had to be outed by other players.

I e-mailed the biggest site when a player checked down quads on the turn and river.  He had chips behind, less than pot size, and less that his opponent.  After a number of follow-up e-mails from me I eventually got the old "nothing to see here, move along" response.
You have to wonder about the number of full-time players who are in close-knit "discussion groups" to "discuss strategy and hand histories".
