not looked here for over a year but it looks like betfair has really gone to the dogs especially were poker is concerned

No wonder.
The Ongame software is probarly the worst for chatting. Multitablers as me, prefer making the tables as small as possible. So I, as many others will remove the chatpart fromt he table.
Second of all, the players playing at Ongame, dosent all belong to Betfair, so even if people are chatting in the pokerclient, they migth be palying on different sites.
third, if there is less chat in the pokerclient, it will ofcource mean that there will be less chat at the Betfair forum, cause you dont got the same familarity as on old Betfair.
The move to ipoker migth strenghen the community a bit, due to the fact, that the software is better to use the chatoptions, and that migth again produce some more talk here on the forum.
another factor migth also be, that alot of players have moved to other sites, the last few years, cause of the move to Ongame.
