To be honest Ted, the hard part is getting to the £200 mark, which for me is about 20 buyins. From there with good BRM I shouldn't ever have to deposit again.

You play any cash chip?
Report chipfire227 July 20, 2012 11:01 PM BST
No mate. Played a handful of STT's on here today, and got it up to £80.33, so nearly doubled it since yesterday. May play a few more tomorrow.

It wouldn't take me long to pish it away playing cash - I am dreadful at it. Laugh

typical sick ongame beat, but i do enjoy them 30 man games
Report chipfire227 July 22, 2012 3:34 PM BST
They were providing a decent return for me until the table freeze issue kicked in. When I got moved to the final table of the game above, it shut down all my tables for over a minute. Given I was on the bubble of a $22 D2N at the time with blinds at 300/600 it (the table freeze) very nearly cost me 40 dollars.

The fact this has been going on for the best part of 2 months without even a comment from them, just shows the utter contempt they have for their customers. Sad
Report Ovalman. July 22, 2012 3:59 PM BST
Besides the table freeze, blind structure in STTs have always been an issue for me since the move and means bingo play and more frequent. I can crush STTs on other sites but not here. I asked for extended blinds or double stacks but was shown 2 fingers. Wulfman was the best player I came up against and he ditched it.

Says it all really.
Report chipfire227 July 22, 2012 10:15 PM BST
Ah well, nicked another 100 bucks today from a dozen or so stts, so the £40 cake I got Thursday is now up to £176.

Tempted to just withdraw the lot.
Report chipfire227 July 24, 2012 4:25 PM BST
In a game where the margins are getting smaller by the week, 30% **** makes the difference between being a winnning player and a losing player for many.

Makes up about 40% of my profit so far this year. Sad
Report chipfire227 July 24, 2012 10:32 PM BST
I guess it all depends on how you define "make it pay" as everyones situation is different. I play recreationally for money to pay for Christmas and holidays. Others play for a living. Some in Bulgaria could probably make a living wage a lot easier than someone living in Mayfair.

Take sexysandy69_ for instance who is generally assumed to be a bot. It has played 4078 stts so far in July, at an average stake of £8.33. Its ROI is 2.1% and total profit is £782.

Okay you think, £782 isnt bad with another week of the month to go, and it is tax free.

However chuck in 30% rake and it gets another £1200 or so on top of that. Its now earning over 2 grand a month.

Then chuck in £1200 leaderboard money and its happy days.

Likelyhood is the bad boy is on 40% rake, so what on the face of it looks like a profit per month of under £800, actually ends up being nearer to 4 grand.

Whats worrying is that along with the other bot schummrich, theres now also a sexysandy68_, but the issue of bots is another matter completely.
Report chipfire227 July 25, 2012 6:52 PM BST
I gave it a go full time after getting made redundant a couple of years ago, and it was never gonna work out. I have a dreadful work ethic, and I found it incredibly tedious.

I much prefer working full time and playing maybe 15 hours poker a week in little one hour sessions. Its still a good tax free supplementary income.

I thought you announced your departure chipfire? Is it that difficult to stay away ?
Report chipfire227 July 26, 2012 11:03 PM BST
No,as stated throughout the thread, I'm rolling my £41 rake up to £300, playing a few STT's every now and again, simply to prove how easily it can be done.

I'm sure you are more than capable of checking this via Sharkscope.

I'm $328 in front playing a handful of games a day at low stakes over the last week, so not far to go.

No point withdrawing £41 is there ? What will that get you ?
Report Bruce Willis July 26, 2012 11:18 PM BST
£41 will get you a fishing rod license, a mcdonalds breakfast, 2 scratch cards, a pint and a half decent dvd

Does the Summer Slam promotion affect r@ke?

1 player point is .27 in rake, 70 points is $19.70. If you're on a 30% deal this gives you $5.91 RB.

Summer Slam gives you $10

$15.91 in total meaning an 80% deal? Is my maths correct?

The 700 and 1400 points weekly total still works out at 57% RB?

This seems a great offer imo.
Report Bruce Willis August 3, 2012 12:02 PM BST

I see they are pishing away 10k of promotions money on some new fangled poker for morons game they have invented which ( and I quote ) :

All players start off with the same size stack (5 Big Blinds) and, although the game is played exactly like Texas Hold 'em, the twist is that players are forced to move all in on marginal hands resulting in more action.

This concept creates a new game dynamic where virtually anyone can win. It's perfect for the recreational player who may get outplayed or hustled by more experienced players post-flop.

Which I believe in laymans terms means :

A quicker game with the skill element removed where you generate more money for us in a shorter space of time- essentially its like casino games where everyone eventually loses except us. We end up fking quids in, yes sir, its all about us, and no mis fking stake. However some of the idiots will get gadgets they probably don't fking need anyway.
And no, we havent fixed the table freeze issue, as we dont really want people playing games that last more than 15 minutes- wheres the profit in that for us ?

Greedy, greedy, fkers.
Report Ovalman. August 4, 2012 12:00 AM BST
I played 3 and lost 3 hands ahead and gave up.

The site is definitely the big winner but I'm just wondering is there an edge? That's a serious question BTW as if there is an edge then it's a definite rake back machine for those that can break even.
Report chipfire227 August 4, 2012 10:19 AM BST
They have serious faults with the software ( freezing tables, no hand histories) they wont even acknowledge let alone fix. They have failed to deliver basic stuff like synchronised breaks, and late registration, which we were told was on their " road map " yet have no problems introducing blackjack/roulette hyper links onto your table, ultra turbo STT's, the Essence system, and now this virtual coinflip nonsense.

Its all about generating profit for them, and making it harder and harder for people who have studied and learnt to play the game properly to make a profit. The donks will be gradually drawn to these essentially gambling games and away from anything resembling poker. In short the site want them losing their money to Betfair slowly but surely, rather than to us via the gradual removal of all post flop play.

This may make them money in the short term but I cant see it working in the long term, especially if there thinking is based on the premise that all the recreational player wants is a quick series of flips. The reality is that what a lot of recreational players actually want are things like :

Reliable software
Decent customer service
Well structured games
Games built around their available leisure time - e.g. late registration, synchronised breaks
A Community feel which recreates the feel of live play i.e. playing opponents who will use the table chat
Interesting promotions that challenge them

I could go on but it seems pointless. They have a strategy to remove the skill and enjoyment out of poker and seem hell bent on destroying it. They think folk just want to sit there watching an endless stream of coinflips- that cant be the case in the long term can it ?
