Please has anyone got a cure to eradicate the mini-blackjack banner thats started polluting the info and chat area of poker tiles past couple of days? or will it have to be a bf poker boycott to force its remedy. Its no joke having to repeatedly reconfigure the section while trying to play.
Also bcm2 were overdue a response on the no more freerolls thread tia.
It takes one click to hide the mini-blackjack. If you think a one man boycott will force them to remove it then good luck with that.
If you want to know whats happening about the Freerolls then I suggest you contact the Helpdesk.

Oh and for future reference if you want BF PR Manager to help you with something the Helpdesk cannot resolve, you need to title your thread " FAO BF PR " because apparently he isn't psychic.

Ill resist the temptatation to tell you to pipe down & grow up fire but your post wasnt that helpful.
Im not sure who youre PR manager is but I hope they help you with whatever pr investigation youre engrossed in. My Q. was to BFCM2, I thought that was capitally clear.
It doesnt take me 1 click to correct - explain how.
Surely its only the very, very impressionable whod think I was implying that a solitary persons protest would be effective - hence posting to gather support?
Overall there is a flavour that that I've trespassed in your petty forum poker section island fire, an impression which Im sure youd not really want to convey to others.
Elsewise thanks for your contribution.(no smiley)
Yes peops I apologise for the caps theyre borne of frustration and desperation at betfairs basic recidivism.

As stated in my original reply, the Blackjack can be hidden by one click on the drop down box in the top right hand corner of the table. That is a cure for the issue raised. I dont really know how to explain it in simpler terms, it genuinely is one click and its gone.
As I also stated there is no Betfair Community Manager 2 so posing a question to a non existent person will probably not bring you any joy. There is Betfair PR Manger who will investigate any issues where the Helpdesk cannot resolve. However as has been stated several times on this forum, the correct channel for any initial query is the Helpdesk. If you email the Helpdesk and ask if the Freerolls have been abandonned permanently you should get a response.
How anyone can describe the removal of Freerolls as an insult is beyond me.

Ok chipfire, that post is an improvement but this must, for Eg, then be a figment of the imagination of the rest of us on the forum?

Helpdesk may get a single sole a response (often incompletely) only, if theyre very lucky, but wont inform others too.
My freeroll/bankroll booster gripe/insult is the chronic lack of service info, not so much the temporary halt that now seems sorted. Since you posted on that thread Fire you might have known that?
During mtt's wherever I'm moved table, the instant mini-poker insult reappears, reconfiguring the size of items in the info section of the tile takes me and Im sure others, if not yourself, more than a single click.

I cant recall anyone ever posting on the poker forum under the username Betfair Community Manager 2, like I said in my original post the BF reps posting on here are PR and Tourney Manager, and if you mark the thread for their attention they might pick up on it. Then again they might not, as queries should initially be addressed to the Helpdesk.
It takes me one click on the Tourney Info dropdown box to slide that over the casino link. Still not really sure how advertising other areas of their business can be construed as an insult, at worst it's a minor inconvenience, but pretty standard across the industry. On a lot of sites, 888 for example, just opening the poker produces a plethora of pop up boxes, advertising all manner of guff.
To be brutally honest I couldnt really give a stuff about $50 freerolls, they aren't something I'm ever going to play or be interested in, though obviously my rake goes towards paying for them.
Having said that, if people want me to raise the issue at the next Q and A session, assuming there is one, then I'm happy to do so.

well actually chipfire.. you are talking through ur little rse.You must be trying to get sufficient brownie points to get a job with betfair. It takes one click to remove the blackjack icon. thats correct.however what you are left with does not give you the information you need ie your position etc unless you fiddle around with it. Everytime you change tables the settings are changed and you have to redo it all again. So if you are multi tabling MTTs it is a real pain in the rse. They can do their advertising on the homepage.I resent having it shoved down my throat. The first thing I did was to exclude myself so there is no chance they get me in a vulnerable moment. It has annoyed me sufficiently to actively look for an alternative site, something I have resisted so far.I would be very sur[rised if I was the only one to feel that way.Good luck with your job hunt chipfire...

I dont work for Betfair, not do I have any desire to do so. I reluctantly put my name forward as Players Rep, for which I get no recompense, spends vast quantities of my own time chasing things up on other peoples behalf, and for which I get no end of abuse from people like you and plod.
The icon has been there for a while and nobody thus far has mentioned it. They (BF) spent a fair bit of time and money getting the thing functional and both myself and Thrappers said at the Q and A session it was a bad idea, something that is doccumented on the forum. I also self excluded myself.
The bottom line,as I have also said MANY times on here is that BF are a business and not a charity. The exist to make money for the shareholders and poker is a high maintenance/low profit part of their business. Ideally they would like all of us to spend our hard earned on low maintenance/high profit things like roulette. That is how business works.
If people are so distressed by having to click a drop down box that they decide to leave the site then that is their prerogative. Will it make a difference ? No, it won't. Almost every poker site out there that doesnt already do so, will have something similar in operation soon.
If you want to make a difference then put yourself forward as Players Rep, go to the meetings in your own time, deal with a daily dose of PM's from dis-satisfied punters, send endless e-mails to Betfair on their behalf, and then sit back and wait for the abuse to roll in. You can have my place at the table.

its a business allright.. run by a bunch of cowboys .. since betfair became a plc the wheels have come off... totally. As you say.. they would like us to spend our money on the gaming site where they can decide how much they want to make. but the majority of pokerplayers are aware that the casino is a mugs game, they probably paid for the lesson with hard earned cash.the internet is bursting with casino sites. They are causing untold misery on many families.Thats why I resent it being shoved down peoples' throats.poker is a different thing.its more a form of entertainment.... And I don't think betfair would like to have me represent the players , they might find it hard work

I went into Laddies about half six last night to have a quick look at the form for a 7 furlong race at Wolverhampton. There was no racecard/form on display, despite them having already run 2 races on the card.
One woman working in the shop as they have recently sacked a load of staff and want managers to run them single handed off peak. I asked to see the Wolverhampton card. She apologised for not putting it on display, said she had been too busy emptying the 4 roulette machines, and she didnt think anyone would want to see it anyway.
The only other 3 people in the shop were hammering away on the machines.
They arent really betting shops any more, they are roulette machine shops which also take football coupons.

Well I'm playing the Community MTT tonight, and once again I dont have to do anything whatsoever to hide the instant play screen, its hidden automatically, along with the game play info which I find distracting when my table opens up.
Not sure how I managed to remove it permanently with one click when others cant ? Will see what happens when I move tables.
If it helps anyone my set up looks like this :
INSTANT PLAY - Drop down triangle facing upwards like this ^
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION- Triangle pointing down
GAME PLAY INFO - Triangle pointing up
CHAT- Triangle pointing down
I only had to change the settings the once, and they have stayed that way ever since.

Gnash I know 10 people in Hartlepool that bet properly, 9 of them are barred out of C0rals, and the other is limited to £25 max on any event.
Fair enough, 3 of them are gangsters, but my mate James, who isnt, calculated he has lost a quarter of a million pounds gambling in the last 35 years, and he isnt kidding. And they barred him out for having £200 on a tennis match spread across four shops.

I just have tournament info and chat on my side bar. I close the game play info and the casino games... and when serious multitabling I close the side bar anyway.
It definitely isn't the worst for stability and things popping up unexpectedly. I think the only site I play on without the casino add ons is stars. But you suffer with stronger oppos if you play there.
I don't see the problem either. I just have tournament info and chat on my side bar. I close the game play info and the casino games... and when serious multitabling I close the side bar anyway. It definitely isn't the worst for stability and thin
I've moved table twice, and the settings didnt need changing, they just stayed how they were.
Even Keiths golden lever on the final table hasnt upset them.

At last Fire we seem to be getting to the Kernel of a reply to the OP. Though doubt remains that youve 1 click managed to permanently remove the problem if you cant fathom how, and you write of 'slide' etc. Further it may be a case of different tourneys - different effects.
I hope youll agree we'll leave it for BF and others to eventually address.
Meanwhile lets summarise what may or may not have been learned from the session.
No need for extra 'brutal honesty' freeroll tourneys are a contemptible commission expense, its incomprehensible how freeroll might foster an interest or develop a player.
Noone can call a recently particularly over-intrusive change an insult. Other poker sites do similar stuff - its a delight to be welcomed.
If something doesnt correspond with Chipfire's opinion its either wrong or doesnt exist.
Ill leave you to your small-island Chip though Im glad to read of your mainland visit to reinforce your, ( this time shared ) perception that Badcrooks et al have long been arcades.
I apologise in advance, but you may badbeat me or push the river here all you wish now ( as I feel were only diminishing some of the constructive functions you perform that many are aware of before the description at 18 Mar 12 17:46 above ), I wont be calling or raising, Ive checked and am checking out.

I havent insulted you, I havent bad mouthed you, from the outset I've offered basic advice in concise language.
I managed with one click to permanently resolve the issue you claimed was an insult, as has Doobs who plays plenty of MTT'S on here and multitables.
Nobody in the Community tournament appeared to have an issue with it either, apart from Keith A, and that was only because he'd never got round to trying.
I can fathom how I've managed it, because it isn't rocket science and almost everyone else I've spoken to has managed it.
What I cannot fathom is why you and Ghaddaffi can't. If there is an issue/glitch it needs reporting to the Helpdesk otherwise it wont get resolved, but there's no point me reporting it as I don't have the problem.
If you cant be boshed to report it , and would rather throw a hissy fit on here about it or stage a one man boycott, then like I said crack on. I just fail to see how you can complain about Betfair not fixing something when you haven't even told them it's broken in the first place.
As for 50$ freerolls, as I have stated, I have no interest in them personally, and my own opinion is that they are actually bad for people learning the game as they bear little resemblance to games where people have to buy in and new players learn bad habits. At the same time I have clearly stated on this thread :
Having said that, if people want me to raise the issue at the next Q and A session, assuming there is one, then I'm happy to do so.
Which is the complete opposite of stating "If something doesnt correspond with Chipfire's opinion its either wrong or doesnt exist."
For the record I've spent an awful lot of time the last 9 months raising issues on other peoples behalf with Betfair from which I have not gained personally.
The difference between you and I, is that I actually get off my backside and try and solve problems through the correct channels to make things better for people. You just sit on the sidelines complaining about how insulting to you everything is, and threaten useless boycotts, rather than doing something constructive about it.

It's annoying but it is just a case of sorting it. Normally leave max chat box open only for community as not much else there. It just goes over the tourney info and easy top sort out.
I'm more likely to misclick on a raise call or fold than on the arcade anyway.
Can hardly blame them and with Bruce as an example I cannot see what the fuss is about. And the advice is good. Hardly need to waste help desk time.

I followed Chips instructions what with the arrows and that and the thing still changes back every new table/table move. So in that sense I do not think crankpot is wrong. Maybe its like the postcode lottery

Mine needs clicking at the start of every new game, but stays set for the duration of the game, and is not affected by moving tables in 30 man STT's or the few MTT's I've played.
Perhaps it depends on whether you use the download or play in a browser, and in the latter instance which browser you use ?

In any case whilst its annoying when you go semi deep and need to check the state of play whilst multi tabling it is not the end of the world.

Yes, I'm download too, you click on the Instant Play triangle so that it's facing upwards and it's gone.
The other 3 fields have always been on there, and have always been adjustable, or removable.I think further down the line they are looking at getting the option of live betting, and possibly live leaderboards in that top tile.

As the developers dont know how to fix this so appear to have done nothing, you can get rid of these until you click on the drop downs by mistake again.
When multiabling and it keeps appearing every time you move tables so you can think of nothing better to do than close adverts for other services when running 8 min sized tables so it knocks down important info like players and time left on all tables:-
1: Minimize any Blackjack ads 2: Close all side bars down to the right of each table all together. 3: Wait for the next multi table to open up (It should not open the sidebar up then) 4: Open the sidebar up and the ad should have gone on all tables until you click on it again and it hijacks all your tables again.

As previously stated, this isn't affecting everyone. BF/Ongame wont try to fix it until someone emails them and reports it. I'm not reporting it because I dont have an issue with it. When I move tables in MTT's and 30 man STT's I dont get the adverts.
